Unfortunately for Beyonce, this year has seen many of the stars she grew up idolizing pass away.
Indeed, as if the deaths of Etta James, Donna Summer and Whitney Houston weren’t enough to accept, this week saw the passing of Bee Gees icon Robin Gibb, after a long battle with cancer.
Now, 12 years after covering the group’s hit song ‘Emotions‘, the singer has honored him by way of a letter.

The Bee Gees were an early inspiration for me, Kelly and Michelle.
We loved their songwriting and beautiful harmonies. Recording their classic song, “Emotion,” was a special time for Destiny’s Child. Sadly we lost Robin Gibb this week. My heart goes out to his brother Barry and the rest of his family

When Donna Summer passed Beyonce also had a connection with her after she sampled Donna’s song Love to Love You. Now when Robin Gibb passed Beyonce has a legitimate reason to mourn & write a letter considering Destiny’s Child covered one of their songs, Emotions. She has reasons to mourn the lose of these legends if they have been a part of her career since she started.

1) it would be nice if she knew the name of the song she sang. It’s “Emotions”, not “Emotion”.
