Yes I heard this and so it should be to honor Whitney. Would that girl RiRi be performing?

  2. S****** Blonde May 15, 2012

The Millennium award this is not the same award they give to Beyonce, things like this makes me sad, Whitney deserves better, she was the female voice.

    Now they wanna honor her…blah

    @Mitt

If they put that girl anywhere near a Whitney song I would DIE!!!! That girl would even be able to pull off one of Whitney’s minimal vocally challenging songs. Billboard had 3 months to get this together, this tribute better do IT!!!!

SO THEY WANNA WAIT UNTIL SHE IS GONE TO HONER HER PROPERLY HUH……GTFOHWTBS, ITS A SHAME OUR BEST (BLACK) STARS ARE WORTH MORE WHEN THEY ARE GONE AND THAT WHEN PEOPLE START APPRECIATING THEM AND REALIZE WHO WHITNEY REALLY IS….I MISS YOU SOOOO MUCH WHITNEY, I STILL TEAR UP FROM YOUR LOSS.

    REST IN PEACE LOVE.

I think that it is beautiful for Whitney but also I believe that when we love our artist and entertainers the way we do that we should honor them while they are alive hopefully to allow them to know that we see everything that they do. This would help keep up with their struggles and we can embrace them as a fan base in their time of need. I was wondering if Rihanna was still performing. Let’s not wait to give our ICON recognition after they have passed on, but to prevent the crossing over for as long as possible.

  9. MadBrax May 15, 2012

lol so one needs to be a drug addict who dies in a bathtub to get honored with a Millennium Award? If she hadn’t died she would not be receiving this award, so sad that that’s what it takes to make a comeback in that industry

Whitney mutherfucking Houston is the most awarded singer in history, and all that happened when she was alive.
All the news here in Spain opened saying that “the most awarded in history and The Voice”. Can´t believe Rihanna and Beyonce fans are saying nonsense about Whitney Houston… omg lol
Whitney has also the BIGGEST era in music history by a female. Iconic, legendary and most of all, respected by everybody (with common sense). Your favs could never. She slayed them

Also, Whitney received an award at the AMA´s in 2009 for her whole career, it was truly beautiful that moment. Stop the nonsense, everybody knows who Whitney is, they knew it before she passed and they know it now

Thats cool….Why are people acting like Whitney hasn’t been awarded for talent…. she has like the most awards ever. I dont think its a matter of people not giving Whitney her just do’s…. the last decade was kinda hard for Whitney (over coming addiction, going back to drugs, her love life, etc..)

I think every award show should do a tribute or an honor to whitney.

And why is Beyonce being brought up….again?? Lawd

  12. Gilberto May 15, 2012

Urgh! They should’ve honored her when she was still alive.

  13. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) May 15, 2012

So, the Millenium Award is an annual affair now! At least now it’s given to someone who deserves it. And that’s no shade to Beyonce, because she did slay her performance, but there is NO artist that deserves such a huge honor under the age of 40.

Anyway, I’m glad Whitney is getting some posthumous recognition. She is one of the most influencial female vocalists of all time. R.I.P. I wish that at some point there will be a real tribute to her (no disrespect to Jordin or John Legend), like what the Grammy’s did for Aretha in 2011 with Christina, Florence, J Hud etc.

  14. ohreally May 15, 2012

    @Mitt

    I think they need….
Tamia, Chaka Khan, Patti, Christina did good one time before or Celine, Mariah, Brandy, Monica, Regina Belle, Deborah C**, Yolanda Adams, Kelly Price, I would also love to see bey tackle one as well oh and Tiffany Evans. I need to see a real tribute, this woman was the VOICE.

  15. allyson dean May 15, 2012

She deserved to be honored while she was alive to recieve it, even though I will be looking forward to watching this honors show. I know her soul is resting in peace, free from all the things she suffered in this life, a life that is gone too soon. She was a legend and still that legend is still alive in spirit.

  16. Hot! May 15, 2012

Stop blaming yaselfs and the fans its the media another ploy to pull in ratings becasue right now we have a whole bunch of fresh black talent that cant get through the door becasue the Industry is breaking down the art anyway. Now they want to hounor Whitney with some type of award its cheesy and dishounorable is you ask me becasue all this time when she was going throught the bad press and bull they wasnt mentioning her but she dead they shouting her out what for dying i sincerly hope not. Again these shows are not for talent but money belea that.

  17. trucieb May 15, 2012

Wow, really? it’s too late don’t you think. she should have recieved well before Beyonce. wtf is that. It don’t mean s*** now.

  18. Virtuoso Intellect May 15, 2012

Whitney has many merit awards so who’s sayin she wasnt appreciated when she was alive? She has more awards than any other female artist, 30 of those are billboard awards.

I want Beyonce to pressnt Stevie Wonder with his award. He’s a stan lol

  19. RoyalKev May 15, 2012

I really need a well done tribute for Whitney. John Legend? …and Jordin Sparks (who I don’t mind) will not suffice. I don’t understand what’s so hard about finding talent that could properly honor one of the most legendary women in music ever. I agree that Whitney wasn’t appreciated enough (during the last decade) for all her great contributions in music while she was still here. She’s one of the few 80’s/90’s female divas that haven’t sold less than a million copies with any of her studio albums(which is rare, almost all of them have). Its not even just about sales, her talent was unmatched. I just hope now that other artists will be celebrated more often that haven’t been recognized enough lately as well (i.e. Prince, Janet Jackson, Mariah, Sade) before it’s too late.

This award don’t mean s*** now…giving it to a LEGEND after you’ve givin it to a thi….a non-legend really just lowers the awards prestige…..and if Whitney was still alive who would they have givin it to? Ciara? Lady Gaga? They wouldn’t have givin her this award…Yes she’s received numerous amounts of awards like this b4, but the point is after giving it to someone undeserving of it makes it not worth much.

I guess Rihanna and her p**** popping is the most deserving! Because nobody can pop a p**** like that girl can,it must be her only real talent coz she doesn’t deliver in any other department! *rolls eyes* These R**** stans man……. anyway,Nippy more than deserves it,they should have given it to her earlier, but…yeah, better late than never! LEGENDARY AWARD FOR LEGENDARY WOMAN! <3

  22. DIGGER BEY May 15, 2012

Im glad they are tributing Whitney but the Millenuim Award just because of her tragic passing. Whitney is The Most Awarded Female Ever n Music but she shouldve got this earlier. Dont just shove out an award because of someone passing. Honor them while they are here. Whitney deserve 8 of these awards! Thats just how Influential she was! It bring tears to my eyes that THE VOICE is gone. @ @ The Bitter Pressed Bishes Lets not bring other people names up! This post is about BB Tributing Whitney Houston! F*ck who u think didnt deserve the award earlier. Billboard awarded them the awarded because they saw fit, they deserved it! Ask the music industry who deserved it most through 2000 – 2010! Ur going to get a B ending with a E!

  23. BLACK MADONNA May 15, 2012

THIS WOULDVE NEVER HAPPENED ANYTIME SOON IF SHE WERE STILL ALIVE… LONG PAST DUE

  24. SHO May 15, 2012

I really hope they don’t try to make Whitney’s death solely about this damn Sparkle movie.

  25. mobwife May 15, 2012

Uhrggg, I’m sick of thumbalina…aka John Legend!

I think the Whitney tribute is going to be good! I am excited to see if Lil Whit sings. She has a very nice voice. I’m only mad that this award wasn’t given to Whitney while she was alive. I AM SO TIRED OF THE CONSTANT RIDCULING & HUMILATION BLACK ARTISTS RECEIVE IN THE MEDIA THEN THIS SAME FAKE A$$ MEDIA CLEBRATES THEM AFTER DEATH!
