Nicki dead jocks Kim style listen to her verse on Christina Aguilera’s song on her last album. Its sounds like she stole it straight out of her out in the 90s.
On the one hand, Kim obviously blew things out of proportions. Bragging is a huge part of rap music and even old school rappers did the “I’m the best, you are all average” type of records. Nicki wasn’t necessarily throwing shade at Kim, she was just bigging herself up and saying that she slays all the other female rappers, which is what all the newbies have to do to stand out.
On the other hand, Nicki’s lyrics may seem usual and normal for rap’s standards, but interpretation is subjective. Kim is the only one that can REALLY read between the lines in terms of Nicki’s lyrics, because she knows all the facts that very few people know and those few people have no intention of sharing these facts.
So, I think it’s unfair when Kim is labelled as bitter but it’s also pointless when she says “do your homework”. A casual listener won’t get the same messages from Nicki Minaj’s lyrics as Kim does. I definitely don’t think that Kim is lying, though.
Anyway, I feel like Kim has nothing to gain from it anymore. She should find a way to come back hard in her own right and in her own lane. Even if Nicki tried to steal her sound, like she’s claiming, Kim is a pioneer, so she’ll come up with something new. In this industry, it’s hard to get credit for everything you and your team come up with, so she should move on, which I believe she’s ready to do, but people keep asking her, so it’s not her fault.
