Filming for season 2 of the X Factor USA kicked off in Austin, Texas yesterday, with all eyes fixed on the show’s biggest asset Britney Spears.
Indeed, many are keen to see if the 30 year old megastar is up to fulfilling her judging duties after a difficult few years. As evidenced above, the ‘Hold It Against Me’ singer looked great in her electric pink ensemble as she arrived. Whether she was able to translate such energy into her feedback on the panel remains to be seen.

Simon and company don’t have to do a thing to portray BS as a nutjob; she does that naturally on her own! She was absent for four straight auditions at the end yesterday in Austin during Day 1 auditions. She didn’t even bother to come back for the closing statements. Who cares? I didn’t miss her and the judges went on without her anyway.

I’m afraid the rumour is false. She hasn’t even started recording yet, so they haven’t picked the producers and songwriters yet. But her label has always been too controlling, so even when she picks her producers, they’ll probably ignore her and book Max Martin and Dr Luke instead 🙁 That said, I’d love Bloodshy & Avant, the Neptunes, Billboard and Danja to work with her on this album. I prefer her urban pop material to her electro pop tracks.

Britney is the life line for X Factor. Ratings weren’t all that great for the 1st season so bringing Britney onto the show is an automatic ratings booster.
Smart Business Move on both parts: Simon gets his ratings and Britney gets to show people the side of her that everyone fell in love with when she 1st came on the scene and not to mention the BIG payday.
I understand that it’s a smart move on Simon’s part, but I still can’t see how Britney may benefit from the show. The last thing she needs is to cross over to “TV personna” status and lose her remaining pop credibility. Besides, her sales in the US are great, so she doesn’t NEED the exposure and she obviously doesn’t NEED the extra million’s either, she has enough money for her great great grandchildren to buy a mansion
As a blog, I think TGF should know the existence of the biggest Britney fan site, B***********.com and that they’ve already uploaded audio and video of Britney in the X Factor Audition and that she’s doing really, really well. Seriously….
I agree. That sight is her biggest fan site and well designed. I think a lot of people want her to fail but to me she is just working and you cannot hate on a girl for doing her job. Her presence will revamp Xfactor USA’s tired ratings and will likely save the show from being cancelled. Nicole and Cheryl were not able to do that and we all know Simon alone would be an ultimate fail.

i’d say she’s trying to follow christina since they’re both in the same time slot. i can’t shake my doubt that her becoming a judge in x factor will ever be real.
jlo was a flop until she joined a i. now jlo gets a lot of news hype and does a lot of product commercials; but her record sales are less than britney’s.
britney record sales are not even that great. just so so. i don’t think ‘femme fatale’ has even sold a million in the u s yet.
I dunno, she still looks tired and sad, she makes me sad, everytime i see her, i think this is a big mistake in her career, someone in her team is wrong, she’s a living legend, i mean i think she’s the only one person of her age that is legendary, i hope everything is ok, those rumors can be dangerous for her mental health, she is still vulnerable.
