At least that’s the mind-set Rihanna must have employed last night in London when she ran into “chart rival” Rita Ora. The pair crossed paths en route to Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s ‘Watch The Throne Tour’ at the O2 Arena, and as per the shot above ol’ RiRi couldn’t keep her hands off the ‘How We Do’ singer. They’d then go on to follow each other on Twitter.
Again, keep your friends close and your competition closer…
Since Ora burst onto the charts earlier this year, the Londoner has been touted (on mass) as Rih’s ”replacement”. With good reason, too.
Aged just 22, she’s packing everything her Roc Nation sister is, plus actual vocal talent. What’s more, despite their Nation affiliation, the ladies are in reality signed to rival labels. Hence regardless of any media stirring or their own personal takes on it, they’re entirely each other’s competition – especially with Rita clearly being positioned in Fenty’s “lane” and ironically working it better than her.
Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

It’s really interesting to see how naive many of the stans still are.
It doesn’t matter how friendly they appear to be when their labels and respective teams will be pushing the other to outdo the other one.
Im not like these fake ‘Beyhive’ members, I was stanning for Bey back in 97 when she first debuted so I see how this industry works. If Kelly left Columbia in 2003 and signed to Universal, Columbia would have no problem putting Beyonces album out in the same week as Kellys even if they were still best friends.
There is a difference between BUSINESS and PR. PR tells you Rita and Rihanna are cool, BUSINESS reminds us that no matter how cool they are they are two cars driving in a very small but elevated lane.
Another example I could give is with Beyonce and Rihanna, Rihanna’s career is headed by Beyonce’s husband, in fact their business relationship is so close that
it doesn’t even make sense that Jay is supporting B’s biggest rival BUT its business. Do you think Jay would be happy if Talk That Talk sold less than 4, NO! Because even though that’s good news for his wife it’s bad news for his money.
That’s why he’s laughing. Because Rita’ and Rihanna are signed to rival labels (Sony/Universal) who will push for both girls to outdo the other in very subtle ways . That means more money’s being pumped into Jays machine whoever comes out on top.

As for “performance” i really dont know what to say. The begining vocals were scary as fuck, I thought some body was about to slaughter her and make her into Curry Goat….And that “choreography” was the laziest attempt i have seen since Britney Spears’ Vma massacre…I just don’t know whats wrong with Rihanna. To begin….Carmen beyonce first “acting role” was not a movie released to theaters. It was an adaptation to an opera and released on Mtv and dvd. her First movie was Goldmember and we all know how wonderful that did. One to your next point about “Rihnna’s minor role,” now that the movie is an official flop she has a minor role and the movie should not be held against her. She plastered her face all over this movie. Showing up to all the promo events, they believed that they could have gotten her “fans” to come in the watch the movie, idk what they were thinking the Navi would not spend $10 on a cd idk why they thought they would spend $15 on a ticket. The movie is a certified flop, they have recovered what it cost to make the film but they still need to recover the expenses used to promote and get the film to theater, which with a horrible opening in the US seems to going to happen.
P.S Where is that bitch @Teacher who said TTT(the album) was certified Plat in the US??? Navi please update your Wiki page, the bitch has sold 867k to date in the US and has NOT been issued shit by RIAA, checked today and still says last certification is Gold. Doll it is clear you can’t not read or understand a damn thing. I know she hasn’t sold a mil in the US, I pointed out that she was not given ANY Plat Cert by RIAA. Now you show me in writing where the RIAA has given TTT the album the certfication , and don’t show me your photoshop picture. i need it in writing, show me where RIAA has given it. Rita Ora is more in Ke$ha, Katy Perry, and Jessie J’s lane if you ask me. Rihanna is venturing into dance pop while Rita is more rock-pop (Which is what Ke$ha is doing on her next album). But Katy Perry is dominating the rock-pop scene. The only one who is close to Katy in that genre is Pink and Jessie J.
And why Beyonce name is being mention here, Im not sure. She is nothing like Rita.

To those who saying Rita will never beat Rihanna, I think catching up to her level will not be hard since a label makes all the difference in the world along with good marketing and PR. They have the power to make anyone a star. If it was easy to make Rihanna one with her little talent then rita will make it with even bigger talent depending on distribution. People who don’t bring a lot of substance to the table do not have longevity. And Rihanna doesn’t. She’s just a popcorn artist with good songwriters and producers on her team. And I’m not even a fan of Rita but the truth is the truth.
