Mary J. Blige certainly knows how to keep it moving.
The R&B royal is gearing up for the theatrical release of ‘Rock of Ages’ – the big budget movie musical she stars in with Tom Cruise.
And so as to give the masses a flavour of what the hotly anticipated film is set to serve up, Blige teamed with co-star Julianne Hough to groove-up a storm on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.
Watch Mary in action below…
Very “different” for Mary; hence for that reason and much more, we love it!
Rock of Ages hits cinema’s globally on June 15th.

Why does the white girl soud better then Mary, and she was dancing hard as fuk… i hope for mary’s sake, the white girl was lip synching…. anyway… good job Mary…. I was scared that Mary was gona break out in dance routine herself, but thank god she left that alone…the perfformance was cool for what it was…

@millhouse The fact that you refer to the white girl as the “white girl” and Mary by name says it all. No matter how long that note was we still don’t know that bitch name so NEXT!

For the record MARY was the only one singing live because she was the only “singer ” up there..the others were actors and were lip synching. “The White Girl” is actress Julianne Hough and she didn’t sound out of breath because she was Lip Synching…Great performance though!!

Juliana is a very new Actress! She is a dancer and singer first and foremost. She has a CMA and an AMA under her belt. You can clearly hear her breathing and harmonizing problems between her and Mary so Mary was not the only one singing live. Everyone completey added to this performance. Personally i think out of all of them Mary gave off the least amount of energy. Sorry its true. Still a great performance but lets not down play it by knocking the other performers.

I would love a rock/soul album from Mary. She could really pull it off. She has a grit and soulful pain that reminds me of Tina Turner

Julianne Hough is her name, not white girl. That is ignorant. By the way she’s a very good singer as well.

Mary killed this performance and if you notice when Mary hit that note she had it until she tried to walk done the stairs but even with that one mess up it didn’t change the fact that she killed every moment of the performance from her lil grinding she did in the beginning to the hair everything is great !

People her name is Juliana Hough not the “white girl”. She’s a perfessional dancer and singer who first came into the spot light after being cast as a perfessional on Dancing with the Stars. She has won DWTS three times and has an AMA and a CMA award under her belt. I will have to agree. She sounded ten times better than Mary and yes she was singing live. You can tell because there were several harmonizing issues between her and Mary. You could also hear her breathing. Just goes to show people should never subsitute live vocals for a performance or dance. If youre a singer, sing (unless you’re Britney Spears: we only want to see you perform. We don’t pay to hear you.) This sold me on the movie. Great Job!
