Watch: Bobby Brown Talks Whitney Houston’s Death On ‘Today Show’ (Part 1)

Published: Wednesday 2nd May 2012 by Sam

It’s the interview the world watched and waited for. And today it finally aired.

Following in the footsteps of his late wife’s family, Bobby Brown opened up about the shocking death of Whitney Houston.

In an exclusive sit-down with Matt Lauer on the Today Show, the man Houston routinely referred to as “the King” addressed their controversial relationship, drug use, the moment her heard of her passing, and much more.

Watch Brown tell all below…

Say what you will about Bobby, yet it’s hard to deny that he did a commendable job of telling his “truth” without disrespecting  Whitney. Rightfully, he spoke about her in the context of being the one-time love of his life and mother of his daughter. Kudos to him for not doing as some pockets of the media would will him to – i.e. act ratchet.

Look out for part 2, which sees Brown’s children join him, tomorrow.

i have a new respect for bobby after watching this. he wasn’t his normal, crazy/erratic self. he was calm and demure the entire convo.

i still appreciate matt for going THERE with him. because, while bobby may have not been to blame for her drug use…they were to blame for EACH OTHER’S remainder on the drug. and unlike him moving on and getting another woman, whitney (in the public’s eye) never go to do that. and so she had a up/down relationship.

either way, rest in peace Whitney. I will forever maintain that drugs alone did not kill you. they had help *cough cough PAT n GARY cough cough*

It’s troubling to hear the truth, but it must be told. Bobby handled that with class and I applaud him for being respectful.

Despite Whitney’s troubles, her addiction will not overshadow her talent much like Amy Winehouse.

When is matt gonna interview Ray J?

Ok but he should at least treat Whitney right (and I´m talking about the 90´s) and not cheat on her. Too much for loving her so much but it´s ok. Also this contradicts his own declarations in the past. And yeah Bobby Kris absolutely put her mother first, not his father, I suppose for a reason
But yeah I believe what he said in this particular interview. Time to move on even if it is so hard knowing probably everybody could have done something else back in the day (and I´m not talking when the woman was at her lowest point, way before that, when she started or when people around didn´t care as long as she could improve herself again and again to such tremendous levels, performance after performance)

It was already reported Bobby Brown used hard drugs before he met Whitney ( and he admitted to it ). Remember he was kicked out of New Edition beause of his erratic behavior. Now , he is lying to make himself look good. He help contribute to her downfall. Why would you do a reality show ,when your wife is high – just to make a buck. Brown had many extramarital affairs, and he was known to hit Houston. This idiot was trying to get alimony from Whitney. Trust me there is nothing innocent about Bobby.

Nooooooooo. If you read whitney history before clive davis you would know she was a party girl and when a record label likes you they set the image they want to portray of you in the spotllight. Clive Davis knew how Whitney was, that is why he created this princess image. Whitney was a down to earth girl from the hood NJ . She said it in the intereview with Diane Sawyer, the truth . So please stop blaming Bobby. whitney was grown before she married bobby and after and responsible for her own actions. I believe Bobby, I loved whitney from beginning to end and I read and learn a lot about her during that time because I loved whitney, I also loved Bobby he was an entertainer and did not care about what people said. I loved them both!! Don’t blame one for the other because they were both adults when these decisions were made. YOu forget Whitney was here a little longer than bobby and she made her own decisions!!! And so did Bobby!!!
