Breaking briefly from the (re)recording of her ‘Glassheart’ LP, Leona Lewis took front stage centre at Radio 1′s Hackney Weekend moments ago, where she debuted a new song.
Christened ‘Come Alive’, the cut was cooked up by Fraser T. Smith and is set to feature on ‘Glass’ – which is reportedly now set for a Summer release.
Take a listen after the jump…
Hmm. Will await studio version (and more material). As the rest of her set re-affirmed, Ms. Lewis -regardless of her current predicament- remains one of the industry’s mos gifted acts. Here’s hoping she’s crafted material and an image that will allow that to be hammered into the minds of the masses this go round.

I applaud for giving us something interesting and not a dance track.

This sounds like a dance tack in the making! But it’s not a bad track. It’s along the lines of the other “slow-mixed” euro-tracks out!

I love that it’s dark and atmospheric, It makes me think of Florence & the Machine and the dark electronic music that didn’t make it to the final version of the new Evanescense album.
Personally I think this is one of her best songs yet, I love the darkness and the lush instrumentals and I hope the album is full of big songs like this. I also think she needs to drop the charade that the album is “Glassheart” I’m pretty sure the album has been re recorded minus “Collide”, she should name it after this track and re shoot that tacky artwork with something dark and epic looking.

It’s interesting. I just hope it doesn’t sound boring in HQ. Let’s just hope she comes back as the kind of artist she wants to be, no label interventions.

I agree! I’m not sure about the song but her voice doesn’t even give it a great vocal live, the vocals are lazy. I could imagine someone else singing this better

I totally agree.
Her voice bores me to death. And kinda even annoys me.
Not to mention she will likely ONLY have success in the U.S. if she records and releases Mariah Carey-esc tracks like “Bleeding Love.”
Who is checking for her to sing over a dance beat like this, NOT ME!

I like it. Maybe the wait was worth it. This new sound has an edge to it. Urban pop. I can definitely hear this blasting from the clubs, be it black or white.

The chorus is incredible. This is not the new single though, she was just showcasing a new track from the album, for those wondering.
