Hot Shot: Teairra Mari Unveils ‘Unfinished Business’ Cover

Published: Wednesday 27th Jun 2012 by David

Teairra Mari strikes a fierce pose for fans, on the cover of her new mix tape ‘Unfinished Business’.

Set for a July 4th release, the 11 song outing features appearances from Snoop Dogg, Division 1 Exec Rico Love and none other than the people’s champ 2Chainz.

More below…

01. I Do Like
02. Lil Mama
03. Not Another Round
04. Go DJ Ft Snoop Dogg
05. Loving On U
06. U Did Dat Ft 2Chainz
07. Be Without U
08. Love Making
09. Click Flash Ft Rico Love
10. Mercy Ft Rabbit
11. Come Back To Me

We can’t wait to hear it!

Our only concern with Mari is how she will fare once album #2 swings by, seeing as so much is riding on its success.

We hope that between now and its release, Team Teairra launch a full on promo assault which will see the starlet develop an installed fan base, ‘make nice’ with a number of radio platforms and develop a forward thinking sound akin to Usher‘s ‘Climax’.

Yes, while ‘panty droppers’ like ‘Lil Mama’ may work in the club, they will not move albums or generate a buzz strong enough to take her overseas.

What she needs- we posit- are singles that sit well on urban and Top 40 radio ( see ‘Right By My Side‘) and catchy fillers.

Catchy enough, to move units even if the consumer is unaware of who she is ( see ‘See It In A Boy’s Eyes’).

before you speak of the kings and queens of the hiphop rap and pop empire remember this girl is the biggest flop known to man kind.. making low budget video clips for COVERS lol floptastic

So ‘U Did That’ is a mixtape track now? This is the most solid and radio friendly song she’s released since her debut!

Anyway, I’m rooting for her, because it’s brutal to be the hottest r ‘n’ b newcomer and then suddenly get dropped because your poorly promoted album didn’t go platinum! I hope she makes it as a solo act. She’s tried so many things that I don’t know what will work for her, though. She’s done club songs, radio songs, slow jams, covers, features with other rappers and it’s still not happening. Why didn’t ‘U Did That’ take off? Maybe she needs to be less predictable and do something more sophisticated. Or scrap the sexual content, because it’s way too 2010…I don’t know. I just wish her luck.

Teairra mari problem is that she is faithful to her R&B roots.I applaud her determination and ambitious, she is probably the most perserving chick in the game.

Her 3 previous mixtapes were hot

My body is ready TeaTea !!!! 😀

I think she has it all going for her (the look, the voice, etc.), but she needs to completely revamp her persona. She needs to dance, she needs better clothing choices, AND she needs to work with producers OTHER than Rico Love. Don’t get me wrong, Rico Love is a talented producer, but when you work with the same producer for everything, it becomes like repeatedly using the same coffee bag. The more time you use it, the more diluted the coffee becomes. One producer only has so many good tracks (and she can not have ANY filler on this album with the expectation on her).I would like her to work with Sean Garrett, Bangladesh, Polow Da Don, Darkchild, Ester Dean, Tricky Stewart, and T-Minus. These are forward-thinking producers that always try to give their customers a track that can cross over to more than one radio format.

      and timbaland …..

    • bigboi June 28, 2012

I would love to her to..but the production budget for her album would cost a lot of money, and for an act like her (as die i think she is )the label aren’t stupid. She’s not gonna make that back

It is amazing reading what many said when “Grape” posted
this beautiful tribute from the pass and how so many was trying to write Rihanna off just like many of you was doing back then!!

this Girl need to be special and Unique. and To have someone who’s BIG by her side if she want to take Off.

that is the way things goes nowadays sadly. i liked her when she started , but after she got dropped , didn’t anything about her. rihanna was very marketable compared to her and i can see why , she need that S.O.S. song , a hot rapper/big name on her side to support her/a supportive label and she will be fine.

    • POP ROYALTY ( Révolution) June 27, 2012

and she need to change her name.

      • Lax June 28, 2012

@POP….So true, so true you hit the nail

Not another mixtape. Can you give us an alumb already. You need to get a new pr and management team behind you. Cause your current team. Aint doing nothing for you. You need to hit the dream, bryan michael c**, brooke valentine, ne-yo and have them write and produce for you. Isiah Classic Food by Isiah Hurts available on kindle.

  9. The Truth June 28, 2012

All Teairra needs to do is find the right songs & image and I’m sure she’s going to succeed

See what i mean when i comment that no matter what is said
about her Rihanna stays focus on the road ahead of her. And
though i’d say that many deem teairra the better dancer/singer
from that clip of the tribute to “Destiny” Childs Rih is still working
and giving it her best shot through all of the s*** that is tossed,
thrown and hurled her way. Rihanna is zeroed in on building her
brand stronger then ever. She know that the best is yet to come and
she also know that the squeaky wheels or the ones who get the oil
now teairra can do it better but who is going on about her business
and falling down and going over bumps in the road but yet shes on
that “Road Of Success” And making great strides and falling down
and still she has learned that falling down isn’t the bad part its not
about falling down its all about how you get right back up and stay
on that “Road Of Success” Many has fallen down and stayed down
and Others has learned how to fall and jump right back up and stay
the course teairra too can make it if she keep on working….at it……
