It seems the ‘Material Girl’ has landed herself in hot water for ‘stealing’ just that…material.
Indeed, despite 20 years having passed since its release, the origin of Madonna‘s Vogue‘ is currently being contested, following a lawsuit filed by a record company claiming she stole pieces of their work to spawn the jam.

According to the company VMG Salsoul, the icon illegally used samples from their 1977 dance number ‘Chicago Bus Stop (Ooh I Love it)’.
So why did it take them this long to file the suit?
Well, they claim the theft was impossible to detect without the use of new production technology which allows listeners to isolate and observe individual sounds within a song.
For Madonna’s sake, let’s hope this is resolved quietly.
Reason being? The fact she is being sued for ‘Born This Waying’ another artists work while accusing Lady GaGa of imitating hers is truly ironic- if not downright hilarious.
Here’s hoping this lawsuit encourages the likes of Cyndi Lauper and Bananarama to file a few claims of their own, considering the ‘inspiration’ Madonna took from their work in their prime too.

Madonna has copied other artists, but never as blatantly as GaGa copied ‘Express Yourself’ for her LEAD single and title track of her “career defining album of the decade”, so let’s not go there.
Anyway, I don’t think the band has a strong case here and I’m not a Madonna stan. I hear 4 similar notes in there, but that’s not a big deal. Every single song resembles another song to the extent of 3 or 4 notes. Maybe there’s something I’m not hearing, though, so I’m not 100% sure.
This lawsuit is stupid and well past the statute of limitations. Thus it will never make it to court.

Gaga used the same chord progression for Born This Way as Madonna used in Express Yourself. Its an old disco staple and Madonna was not the first to use it – she also does not own chord progressions which is why we have seen no lawsuit from her over Born This Way, she hasn’t got a leg to stand on. This Vogue suit sounds like a pile of s*** though – if they could only just detect it now with modern technology then how the hell did Madonna and her people sample it all those years ago?

First, Beyoncé isn’t credited on ‘Boy’. She has never claimed to write it. The whole problem with this song was that Toby Gad (producer and co-writer) sold the song for Beyoncé without BC Jean (co-writer)’s acknowledgment. If there is someone to be blamed on this is Toby Gad not Beyoncé. In the end of the day, Beyoncé made a deal with BC Jean and everything is fine. I can’t say the same to Madonan ’cause she is still being sued for a song that came out over 20 years ago. Your ignorancy is too much to face the truth.

Rihanna is being slammed by her fans in Sweden after giving what one concertgoer is calling a “disgusting and shameful” performance over the weekend.
Rihanna reportedly showed up 45 minutes late to Sweden’s Peace & Love Festival, leaving many Scandinavian fans upset and annoyed. Fans took to social network websites to complain, suggesting Rihanna appeared intoxicated. One angry fan wrote:
“Who the f**k allowed her on stage in this state?” Another called her performance on Saturday night, “disgusting and shameful”.
