    Flop

    • Cassidyboi July 10, 2012

LMFAOO how yall can call something a FLOP…. & dont know crap about the industry these days… This is far from a flop… judging that the album is 80% of left over material from past years its a success he record company didnt hafe to produce hardly any income into making this album so you the FLOP bum rabbit face w****!!!!!!

      • YoungO July 10, 2012

exactly my thoughts. Its a whole different industry now days.

Soulja Boy Enters Guinness Book of World Records; Least Albums Sold First Week by Major Label Artist..Ever – http://goo.gl/s1CJT ..oh this is what he was crying about at BET award. lol

      • wayno July 11, 2012

I know plenty about the industry….THIS IS A BONAFIDE FLOP…next week it will dip to 50,000…. this is not gonna go gold…ALL THOSE WEAK ASS TRACKS RELEASED EARLY…NOT A SURE FIRE HIT….BLAME IT ON CHRIS…

      • StarChild July 11, 2012

RIght. THis is definitely Good for todays Music Industry Climate. However. Chris Along with several other producers mentioned that Initially and Originally Fortune in the Beginning was already done. And Album of already finished songs. However, In recent interviews, he made it clear that He and his team completely scrapped that idea Wrote, Produced, & Recorded an entire new album. They only Kept 3 of the older songs on it. Everything Else is Brand New. Either Way. It’s Still A Success. Chris Lives, Breathes, And Eats Music & Art. He’s Like Mayweather in The Gym.. Just replace the Gym With a Recording Studio.

      • Mike July 11, 2012

The industry is different because people don’t want people’s crap anymore. And let’s be honest there’s nothing special about Chris’ album and there is still alot of people (rightfully) against him.

People need to quit making excuses. Adele can sell 22 million albums so obviously things haven’t changed that much (besides the album quality getting shittier and shittier)

    • Jasmine July 10, 2012

Good for him debuting at #1 but a sad reflection on the music industry. Anytime albums debut at #1 with such low numbers that means a very small fraction of people are buying music and the music industry needs to catch up to technology and marketing used by a broader base of consumers.

    • ring leader July 11, 2012

Who ever is ‘Mathew knowles’ behind scenes for Chris is doing a hell of a good job

  2. bitchpleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee July 10, 2012

    NOT BAD!!!!!!

  3. Latrell4bey July 10, 2012

CONGRATS ON YA NUMBER 1! SOAK IN THIS MOMENT…type s***

  4. william July 10, 2012

First Usher 124k in it first week now Chris with 134,290. Both got the #1 album WOW!. The music industry is going down fast.

    • jeff July 10, 2012

      @William

You have not seen nothing yet. Artist will be buying their own music very soon. The best of the best will have low sales. Now that we have illegal downloads music buying will not be the same anymore.Frank Ocean who came out the closet is doing well for now. This might be the only album or song people will buy. But anyway Congrats to Frank Ocean

      • jeff July 10, 2012

Also people don’t have jobs and can’t afford to buy a $13.99 cd.

      • sandralee July 10, 2012

Well we all know that Nicki’s sales was awful also. Justin Beiber did not get his 700-900k with 24mil fans behind his belt. His sales were low also for as many fans he has

      • I AM NOXEEMA JACKSON July 11, 2012

@Jeff, what does Frank Ocean’s sexuality have to do with anything? That whole “Frank Ocean who came out of the closet..” statement was unnecessary. As an artist, his sexual orientation should have nothing to do with the quality of work that he produces ( which is beautiful, btw). If you’re going to buy the album, buy it. If not, that’s cool too..but leave trivial things such as who somebody chooses to go to bed with, out of it.

    • Candy July 11, 2012

How long has Usher been in the game? He already peaked. Chris has peaked and only 23…. DAMN!!

      • ALONZO WILSON July 11, 2012

THEY BOTH ARE BLACK SO THEY CHARTED LOW BUT JUSTIN BIEBER MAD 356,000 FIRST WEEK SELL #RACIST

      • number1k9 July 12, 2012

Thanks to CB and his stupid actions of beating Rihanna, he’s been peaked back when he released ‘Exclusive’ when he was like what, 19.

All his fault. The fact he still goes crazy in public don’t help either.

  5. #EliteNavii July 10, 2012

Its higher than the sales projections…. still its a pretty embarrassing number for someone of his “caliber” and status. considering he is everywhere…. making a fool of himself everywhere…. and causing drama everywhere…. and lets not forget to mention his loud mouth ass fans TeamBreezy. Why dont yall put ur money where your mouth is, i guess just like chris your all talk.

    • george July 10, 2012

What Teambreezy where they at anyway. The only thing their good for is doing tasks on BET.

Ok Congrats to Chris second #1 even if his sales were low he still got that second #1.

  6. HOTSTUFF July 10, 2012

i think he’s gonna have to beat so more women to make headlines and get that flop to gold lmao…..

    • HOTSTUFF July 10, 2012

      some more women*

  7. S****** Blonde July 10, 2012

Considering how f***** the music industry is right now, it’s not bad, however with a poor first week sales, i wonder if this album could sold more than 1 million copies in the US.

    • #EliteNavii July 10, 2012

probably not considering his last album FAME still isn’t platinum in the US over a year later

      • S****** Blonde July 10, 2012

        Awww!

  8. Angie July 10, 2012

That is a respectable number. I bought my copy.

    • Anne July 10, 2012

Face it. There’s nothing respectable about it. Justin Bieber more than doubled Usher and Chris sales, even Lionel Richie outsold Chris and Usher. I’m sure they are disappointed over these sales while their die hards are trying to find a way to sugar coat it. They will struggle to go GOLD, and may never go platinum.

      • jayla July 11, 2012

Girl calm down. These men are PAID regardless.

    • ALONZO WILSON July 11, 2012

B**** PLEASE THE BOY WHITE HE SELLING BECAUSE HE TRYING TO SING RNB AND ADDING AUTOTUNE

  9. Mr Bradshaw July 10, 2012

Frank ocean is gonna slay him next week. I can’t wait.

And that’s a huge drop from his fame first week numbers just last year. Oh well too bad. Hope to not hear or see Chris brown in the future.

  10. izzy July 10, 2012

it’s higher than what ppl was saying yesterday….I didn’t really like the album but congrats! I think after this album he should take a break, recharge & get away from it all for about a year! Then come back ignoring all the drama & changing ppl perspective of him!

    • Anne July 10, 2012

It’s not higher. It’s within the sales projection. The numbers are low, just as projected. Sorry but congrats are not in order in this case.

      • jayla July 11, 2012

        U are so pressed

  11. Benron July 10, 2012

This IS NOT a respectable number, do not blame the industry “problems” of people selling less and less albums for it, he just flopped.

Interviews are key Chris, they will make people like you, singles < interviews. Singles litterally give awareness to the album, but sitting your ass in a chair and persuading people for 15 mins will sell copies.

Rihanna, Pink, Beyonce, and Lady Gag-a are putting out new albums, they will all sell at least 70k more than this.

Chris' fans always blame every1 else. He flops bcuz the media hates him, or he gets "tricked" by people into acting the fool. He needs to GROW UP and do some s*** for himself. Because ONE team breezy fan does more positive campaign for him then in 3 hours than he does in a year. He isn't trying, lyp-syncing will turn us off from ur performance no matter how many moves you have.

Please find yourself on America's best dance crew with Ciara and all those other dancing h*** who think they can sing.

    • S****** Blonde July 10, 2012

Please find yourself on America’s best dance crew with Ciara and all those other dancing h*** who think they can sing.

      LMAO!

    • swaggin July 10, 2012

Im a Cb fan but I agree with you on the fact that the media hates him and he doesnt do anything to make that change..plus interviews would have helped not hurt his campaign had he done them and done them correctly..and he does have fans that go harder for him than he does for himself..but i disagree with the non-singing comment even tho i dont like the auto tune Chris can f***** blow..the only relevant rnb males that can actually sing right now is him and Usher

      • Benron July 10, 2012

HE CAN F****** SANG THO, he sang live twice so i know he can sing. But he needs to do it more often!

      • virtuoso intellect July 10, 2012

pls chris is an average singer at best. im no fan of Trey but he’s a superior vocalist to Chris not to mention Bruno Mars

      • swaggin July 11, 2012

if you think Trey is a better vocalist then Chris you have no right to an opinion because you r def..Chris can hit notes that Trey wouldn’t dare try to hit..idk if Bruno Mars is good live but I am not really into his music I like Rnb even tho they label him as such his music doesnt like rnb to me

    • sandralee July 10, 2012

Rihanna ‘s turn is coming soon that is if she still around.

      • Benron July 10, 2012

Why is your fave Chris gonna come get her again, maybe it will make F.A.M.E go platinum!

    • sandralee July 10, 2012

      Benron

The media hates Chris we all know that but do me one favor tell the Navy to tell her PR team to get Rihanna some help before the media starts talking s*** about her if they not already then she will get low sales too.

      • Benron July 10, 2012

If she promotes the way chris does she came bring it 210-240k next time. Not big but she was never going big.

  12. Benron July 10, 2012

But other than his delusional stans and himself nobody expected him to debut big anyway, F.A.M.E still hasn’t sold 850k

    • rozel July 10, 2012

and then they call rihanna a flop when her opening numbers are always ahead of his. So by this token, RIhanna could have gotten a #1 many times over. But she’s not afraid of competition. She come out busy season, all these other artists try to come out when no one is around so they could get a number one with pathetic numbers. SMH.

      • virtuoso intellect July 10, 2012

rihanna comes out out busy season to maximise her 1st week sales. if she came out in the 1st quarter, she’d barely scrape the 100k mark 1st week, though it might land her the no1 spot

    • niikolee July 10, 2012

What are YOU talking about Fame went 1mill after 3 months

      • Benron July 10, 2012

It has still sold 850k statesdie to date!

    • Ethan July 11, 2012

      FAME sold 885k.

  13. U Aint About Dat Life July 10, 2012

Until Rihanna can score a US #1 album… Rihanna Navy needs to stfu!!
    CONGRATS 2 CHRIS…. HE’S DONE IT AGAIN!!

    • Benron July 10, 2012

But, all of her albums sell more than his. Adele was at number one last wee kith 65k, the game was at #1 with 95k. Irrelivant b****** release they’re album when nobody else does, not Rih…

    • commanderofthedancefloor July 10, 2012

with rihannas second lowest album selling more than chris’s highest selling album i think the cb fans need to keep it cute. her debut album is the only one that chris has sold more than thats it. so hang it up!

    • Lax July 15, 2012

      @U AINT ABOUT DAT LIFE
U STFU, RIH IS PAID…..LOOK IT UP.

  14. swaggin July 10, 2012

I’m team Breezy but lets be honest if Rihanna debuted wit 134 k Sam wouldn’t let her hear the end of it

    • #EliteNavii July 10, 2012

      AMEN!!!! PREACH IT PASTOR!!

  15. TO THE PHONY FANS July 10, 2012

I am just gonna keep it real!!! I bought the album and I really like it! With his personal life aside; he makes great music…..end of story!!! The problem is BLACK PEOPLE (and I am black) do not support MUSIC anymore! To busy bootlegging and illegally downloading! SMH!!! It’s a shame to say the least! I mean people like Beyonce, Drake & Nicki are popular because they are mainstream! These STANS on here bickering back and forth about who is the BEST artist but none of the fans are buying the music! I just don’t get it!!! SMH! People on here are all talk and not real fans at all!!!! I pray that the real STARZ go out and support Brandy!!!

    • Benron July 10, 2012

I agree, he needs white fans. Thats what is keeping Rihanna afloat and actually making her do better. But He needs a healthy switch with mostly pop/other influences but R&B aswell.

    • Girrrl July 10, 2012

Black people do buy albums! I hate that excuse. My black ass went to the store and bought all of the following albums by black artists in the past year:
      4
      TTT
      Looking 4 Myself
      MF Life
      Take Care
      Watch the Throne
      and many more.
When singers put out music consumers think is worth buying, they will.

      • Failure 03 July 10, 2012

U don’t represent the whole demographic. Sure it’s very unfair to say that not all black people don’t buy albums, but it isn’t wrong to say that they don’t either.

There is definitely a bigger sum of white people who buy albums over black people, it can be statistically proven through holiday sales, where white people go out in droves to buy albums, (Pink Friday for example).

    • POP ROYALTY ( F*** Yo Fav) July 11, 2012

      Amen!

    • Yeah! July 15, 2012

You backwoods, billy goat-looking b****, how are you going to accredit Chris Brown’s lackluster-ass sales to a whole race of people? Chris Brown has only released gay-ass European pop music that has failed to leave any impression on the charts, leading to his album’s horrible-ass sales. The funny thing is that when he released F.A.M.E., he had a huge urban single, and his albums sales were 281,000 copies, you not knowing how to punctuate-ass m***********. Plus, if black people don’t buy music, then why is Drake’s album Take Care the second highest selling album eligible for this year’s Grammy Awards? You Chris Brown fans are always trying to blame someone else for that m***********’s failures when, in actuality, it’s no one’s fault but his. Despite what you think, the album f****** sucks, and no one – and I mean motherfucking no one, regardless of race – will waste hard earned money on a s***** album. Stop trying to generalize others and go buy that m***********’s album if you’re so worried about his sales, you racist-ass p****.

  16. THE LEGENDARY LAX July 10, 2012

    Congrats To Chris Brown

It’s not a Easy Task to Sell over 100,000 in the first week now……..

he got himself a #1 album under his belt

    • barbie July 11, 2012

lax, is that really your picture. You look like a grown ass man if that is you, yet you speak/write like a tween.

  17. yeyay July 10, 2012

Why do Folks on this site insist on praising one artist while bringing another one down? So what does Frank Ocean’s success have to do with Chris Brown? I respect Frank and his music but dude is not all end of be all of music…Chris sabotaged himself but dude’s been in the game since his was like 14-15…many artists don’t make it past 3 years…Also, Frank has media, hipster mags, hispters, twitter, Hova, Beyonce, and almost every1 else support….He wasn’t shunned at all…Fortune got blasted by Critics, like 40 on Metacritic…I’m not the biggest Chris Brown fan, but dude did pretty well considering all the negativity he produces and follows him….I already know Frank will probably outsell both Chris and Usher…that doesn’t make him better…Frank is what is hot right now and much deserved but it takes nothing away from Chris or Usher…Frank is the album to have right now, bet he goes Platinum…

    • Oh Yeah!!! July 11, 2012

Frank Ocean will also get some GAY sales since he has COME OUT just before his album drops!

      • Elvick July 15, 2012

Pa-lease. He had a lot of attention way before he came out.

People that don’t like him will just use that as an “excuse” for his success.

Personally, I can’t get into him. Maybe I don’t listen to the right stuff by him, but I don’t like him as a singer. He’s a talented writer though, so I respect that.

  18. Pablo July 10, 2012

Notice how Sam didn’t say anything about the numbers. If this were Rihanna or Lil Kim, he would of written a book on how they failed to achieve album success.

    • Benron July 10, 2012

even if Rihanna doubled that he would be like “well ttt had slow sales.

  19. BEYONCE’S WEAVE July 10, 2012

    LMAO FLOP FLOP FLOP HAHAHAHAHA

  20. Pablo July 10, 2012

These number are neither impressive or a flop. These sales are good for a time where fewer people buy albums now, but not good if you’re a high profile act like Chris Brown.

    • POP ROYALTY ( F*** Yo Fav) July 11, 2012

don’t say few ppl buy albums , ppl buy the album if it is good!

      • Lax July 11, 2012

@Chris & TeamBreezy This was good and
you guys hang in there because things will
get Better no matter what the haters says
Much of the hate is caused by different fan
clubs and a lot of his own “TeamBreezy”
stirrying in shyt to make it stink, There’s
room at the top for chris all he need to do
is hang in there. And if he could put a
MUSSLER over “XYZ’S” Ass that One fan
and blue kid hidding behind another screen
name it would clear up a lot of the bull
        shyt.
        PS
They say one bad apple don’t spoil the bushel it
might not but two shyt talking bad apples calling other artists out of their name and slandering them will help to slow any artists growth! And Chris is BLESSED since
“That Grape” Did not hang his booty at the cross like they ALWAYS DO RIH, RIH!

      • Lax July 11, 2012

Looking forward to his future he has made mistakes but haven’t we all., Without putting his PASS into it ahd looking at his career he still has a chance to get better and grow up
more with time. A lot of the hidden shyt behind his caree is fired up by hidden agenda’s of others who want to see him fail for Beating up my fave, that is in the PASS and he and rih both has PAID A HEAVY PRICE for what happened between TWO YOUNG LOVERS but hopefully the BOSSES at these labels will let these TWO ENTERTAINERS live their lives and keep making the best Music they can make without their asses getting into the mix and trying to start shyt behind the scens,,,
        PS
Jay need to realize that chris did rih bad but it’s over done with and they both has moved on. Chris has a girl now jay-z now you just make for sure you tells rita and the rest
of yo artists that the main thing they need to do before anything else is get a good accountant, lawyer and to build a good career keep their $$$$$, paper in order because at the end of the day jay-z you have never had a TAX PROBLEM, EVER and Rihanna has!
And chris is a winner too and when i see xyz talking shyt on a rihanna post then i will make it a point to try and “SET FIRE TO HIS FUNKY ASS”, AND THATS A PROMISE
AND BLUE KID I KNOW YOU STAYS ON RIHANN’S POST TALKING SHYT ALSO, YOU TWO ALONG WITH JAY-Z NEED TO LET THIS SHYT STAY IN THE PASS AND TAKE BOLD STEPS FORWARD INSTEAD OF TRYING TO KILL PEOPLES CAREERS….

    • Elvick July 15, 2012

You just need promotion like Pop music and exposure like pop music. Or like the ‘Adele’ type artists.

Who “come out of nowhere” and are suddenly everywhere.

That’s how you get millions of sales now.

Which is stupid, but it seems people can’t seek out music themselves anymore. Even though it’s easier now than ever. Doesn’t stop people from clinging to the past of music, and complaining about ALL new music though.

All the while they ignore all the good ish out because they’re derps.

  21. nobitchassness July 10, 2012

    We can take that #TeamBreezy.

  22. Mark July 10, 2012

Ha! It’s not a flop cause it’s #1, but it’s low. Just a lil more then Usher and CB had the 4th of July sales. And his fans want to call Rihanna a flop, she may not ever went to #1, but she sells pretty well. I don’t see these albums going over the 500k mark. Singers/labiles are gonna have to WORK to get money now.

    • Benron July 10, 2012

      Rihanna slays chris.

    • POP ROYALTY ( F*** Yo Fav) July 11, 2012

u can reach #1 while selling 3 copies , it depends on the release date and the competition from others in the week of release.

  23. Geez July 10, 2012

Havemt bought a cb cd since his “yoooo” days ..when we’re 16 & stuff , but people are telling me it’s kind of good so I’ll check it out along with Brandys cd when it drops

  24. Benron July 10, 2012

#TeamBreezy With all these excuses #smh After joining in with everyone saying “TTT is a flop” “4 is a flop and “Born this way isn’t a flop but thats only because it was on the born this way was on the mcdonalds dollar menu.” <- (thats just me but…)

When ya'll were predicting 500k+ (I heard many 1 millions) he debuted small and your all salted as f***. No shade but chris is NOT a big artist, like Adele, Lionel Richie or taylor swift who brings in HUGE SALES.

He cannot sell like Beyonce (used to) or Usher (used too) because he is not even that big. He cannot even bring in BIG "popstar" numbers like Rihanna (207k) or Katy (190k). H should go back t oR&B, he will sell more than this then!

    • Hush July 10, 2012

LOL@you claiming Rihanna brings in “Big popstar numbers.” When? When did she ever do that. TTT opened with less than 200k in its first week — and that was during the week of Black Friday, and she had the #1 single at the time. She should have done 500k+. If she released her album in hot ass July, during a slow music sales season, she wouldn’t have done any better than Chris.

      • Benron July 11, 2012

I love how you attack Rihanna;s number’s and not katy perry’s.

I clearly put Rihanna on the lowest pedstal and said DAMN chris should of sold more.

    • Um OK July 10, 2012

Excuse me, have several seats. His last album released in 2011 debuted at No.1 with sales of 271,000.

      • truth tea July 11, 2012

cant sell like beyonce (used to)? her first week numbers last year were over twice as much as this flop

  25. BEYONCE’S WEAVE July 10, 2012

Alienate your Drake fans, Nicki fans, Rihanna fans, Lil’ Wayne fans, get “TeamBreezy” to do your evil bidding of insulting other artists (XYZ, TGJ, Samantha, other TeamBreezy members) and behave like a hood rat every chance you get, this is the end result.

These numbers are poor, Drake can shift 700K copies in one week, the only thing he (Fistopher Brown) has to rely on now is longevity and that is lacking judging by the hot-mess singles I have heard so far. This is a bad year for TeamBreezy, I told XYZ to stockpile multiple copies of “unfortunate” and he never listened, too bad I guess…lmao.

  26. Girrrl July 10, 2012

LOL so true…I love her but F*** Adele.

  29. Mob July 10, 2012

Not going ot read other comments because I don’t give a f*ck, but I will say:

    1) Drake & Crew attacked NBA star Tony Parker, Chris Brown, Teyana Taylor and a table filled with women at W.i.P nightclub. The RACIST AMERICAN MEDIA spent 1 month BLAMING CHRIS BROWN (not the true villian half white Jewish Canadian Aubrey Drake whatever?) although he was just one of the many INNOCENT VICTIMS brutially attacked that night! The media has spent EVERYDAY CRITICIZING CHRIS BROWN…..EVERYDAY FOR THAT FIGHT HE DID NOT CAUSE……EVERYDAY INCLUDING TODAY, 7/10/12!

    2) Chris Bown’s CD leaked a weak prior and instead of simply releasing his CD on iTUNES the minute it leaked RCA’s f*cking a**es did nothing. Had they released the CD immediately they would have recouped some of their losses!

    3) Every DAMN time Chris Brown releases a CD Rihanna does a pity party interview to remind the world that she hit Chris 1st…oh wait she never tells that truth about that! We hear the same tired bullsh** story about her lack of a lovelife….but yet Aston Kutcher, Meek Mill, Drake, J cole, JayZ, and God knows how many others have chopped her down. Why not discuss yoyour failed 1 year relationship with Matt Kemp? Right no one would give a damn if you were not trying to help them bring down Chris Brown!

    4) Justin Bieber sold his CD at $6.99 & moved 370 units with all the media promotion and constant positive press he receives. Usher Raymond had equal airtime and media favor but sold 128K. Chris Brown and Usher Raymond sold theirCDs at regular $12.99 prices. What this indicated to me is had they sold their CDs for half the price like Justin, they would have doubled their profits! What type of game is really being played in the MUSIC INDUSTRY? Where are the Break downs per digital sells & pre-oders. Why do these charts count point-of-purchase (retail) sells only? What are the Worldwide figures and in how many countries was the CD released in cause that seems to be different per artists? Frank Ocean’s CD was just released on iTUNES all over the world. Chris Brown’s CD on iTUNES was rolled out in increments meaning not all countries were able to purchase. SOME COUNTRIES ARE STILL AWAITING A RELEASE DATE! This process seems crazy to me!

I’m very pleased that he was able to move any units in the USA with the RACIST AMERICAN MEDIA & DUMB HATING A$$ BLACKS THAT CAN’T SEEM TO SEE ANOTHER PLOT GROWING AGAINST ANOTHER BLACK ARTISTS (see dead Michael Jackson (RIP) & Whitney Houston (RIP) for more detailed information on how the racist american media breaks and destroys black artists and how black american’s laugh and rejoice until the artists actually dies then they fake sympathy for them. They love them after they are dead. How very sad)!

**Presses play on Fortune……man I love this CD. He took back to his R&B beginnings** 🙂

    • Benron July 10, 2012

Um #TTT leaked 2 weeks earlier and was uploaded BY VEVO 3 days before it came out. Its not hard to convert to M** and she sold 197k

Actually TEAMBREEZY spread rih’s links. KARMAS A B****!

      • Mob July 11, 2012

TTT what is that a Rih-H** CD? Surely you are not trying to compare CB sells to the person who has had a damn near 4 YEAR PITY PARTY about 1 t*** fight her dumbass instigated by striking Chris first? There are only two things in life we can be sure of: 1) if Rih-GOAT is promoting a CD she will start whining about Chris Brown and 2) if Chris Brown drops a CD RihTRAMP will be spreading her legs….oops I mean her lips to whine about a 4 year old fight she had with Chris brown. You can take that to the bank and cash it in!

Rihanna should sell 1 million 1 week each time her generic noise pollutes the airwaves. Everyone supports the so called victim right? I just don’t understand why she has to work so hard? She works hard to fine a new hair color that will shock the crowd. She works hard to whine and cry about Chris Brown while trying to juggle d*** after d*** in her mouth – Aston Kutcher, J. cole, Meek Mill, Jayz, Drake, Matt Kemp , the milkman, the postman, etc.

Wait is 197k suppose to be a victor for “Pop ICON, & Queen of Pop” Rihanna? LMAO at that one!

    • Girrrl July 10, 2012

      Excuses

      • Ugh July 10, 2012

It would help if Chris wasnt such a mediocre artist from the giddyup………………….

And why bring up Beiber? He’s no way comparable to Chris. He’s white, younger, cleancut, didn’t beat Selena gomez’s ass……….easier for him to sell.

      • Mob July 11, 2012

You don’t know WTF Bieber has or has not done to Selena as if the controlled media would tell you and drone on about it for 3 years! Did they drone one about Eminem beat wife Kim or Sean Penn beating Madonna or Charlie Sheen beat wives, gfs and hookers for the past 18 plus years or Ozzy Osbourne beating wife Sharon, or Glen Campbel beating wife Tanya Tuker or Josh Brolin beating wife Diane Lane or Tommy Lee beating Pam Anderson or Mickey Rourke beating wife Carrie Otis? Of course not for obvious reasons. Perhaps they shouldn’t be so MEDIOCRE either?

I mention MEDIOCRE Justin Bieber because everyone compares the two and of course their numbers support the myth that Bieber will be crowned the “New Kang of Pop”!…Duh or didn’t you know 0_O?

    • commanderofthedancefloor July 10, 2012

chris bronw, usher, nicki minaj, and hell even rihanna have one thing in common. these artist deliveired mediocre albums, yes i admit ttt was a step down for rihanna. that is why they aren’t selling we can blame the music climate, but really its the music these artist deliver. will they sell like they use to? no, but they will do better than they have been.

how about instead of filling all of these artist with delusion lets bring them to reality and show them that these repeatitive dance albums aren’t working, obviously the sales speak for themselves though. i will say just to give my girl some shine, she did what all those artist did but sold more, im just saying.

      • Mob July 11, 2012

Fortune is far from mediocre so I didn’t bother to read the rest of your bullsh** comment. Did you bother to listen to the CD before you typed that comment? The others might be generic, poppy, dance CDs but Fortune is far from it!
Now run along and go drool over Frank Ocean’s new CD. I’m sure you right along with the rest of the sheep led by the PUPPET MASTER MEDIA will love it!

    • Nate July 11, 2012

      1) Regardless, if Chris Brown didn’t want the club incident to be an issue, he shouldn’t have made it an issue by recording diss tracks and going on Twitter rants, with photos included. If he kept his mouth shut, the incident wouldn’t have received half as much coverage.

      2) Everyone’s album leaks at least a week before its proper release, if not earlier. That’s just the way it goes now. Beyonce’s leaked almost a month before. Dropping an album as soon as it leaks shows a lack of authority and consistency on behalf of the artist and the label.

      3) Rihanna had forgiven Chris Brown, and even recorded songs with him. Then what did Chris do? He recorded a song dissing her and calling her loose. I can’t blame Rihanna for trying to retaliate in her Harper’s Bazaar interview… because Chris did the same thing, with a lot less tact.

      4) The standard edition of Fame was actually on sale for $7.99 at many retailers, including Target and Amazon. It was on sale at Wal-Mart for $9.99, also.

Everything you mentioned is a lame excuse, or Chris Brown’s fault. Just accept the fact that the album underperformed!

      • Mob July 11, 2012

        1) It was Chris Brown, Tony Parker (who has discussed his ordeal in the media SEVERAL TIMES NOW), Kea Tran, T. Talor, Big Pat and SEVERAL WOMWN (WHO HAVE ALL SPOKEN TO THE MEDIA SEVERAL TIMES) who were injuried by Drake-Evelyn and his “boys” that night! If Chris brown wants to talk about the fact thayt he was attacked in a nightclub wihtour warning or cause by a person he thought his was cordial with THEN WTF IS THE PROBLEM? Espcially when the media has tried to twist the incident into something somehow caused by you!

        2) The artists aren’t leaking the sh* they worked hard to produce so stop trying to throw it off on them! I do however blame the recod companies for allowing this mess to happen so often! And NO EVERYONE’S CD DOES NOT LEAK! Neither Usher’s nor Justin bieber’s CD’s leaked!

        3) that’s a DAMN LIE! He said the song was not about her. He didn’t even write the lyrics to that song he wrote th lyrics to the other free rap song (Mercy). So unless Rihanna slept with that guy too, I just don’t see how it could be about her? Rihanna came ot CB with a motive! She asked him to be on her song for controversy and NOTHING MORE! Rihanna’s a snake who is only out for self!

        4) Fortune fool, I don’t care what FAME sold for!

The CD is #1 in 3 countries he has only be to one the USA! In 5 other countries Fortune is his highest charting CD to date. and Fortune is #1 in 22 countries on the R&B Chart so WTF are you talking about? American is not the only country in the world, believe it or not!

      @MOB re: July 10, 2012 at 9:12 pm —

      ..LISTEN TO ME!

      ..CAREFULLY READ WHAT I WRITE!

..HEAR WHAT I NOW HAVE TO SAY!

I’m the one who took that distorted, misunderstood, rubbish “Cell Phone Records Warrant/police record” to an actual lawyer, and then made him explain it ALL to me. It was ONLY THEN that I realized what racist Harvey Levin was trying to do; it was THEN that I organized the very first “Team-Chris” and took to these blogs to fight the good fight!

I’m the one who drove down to ‘Best Buy’/’Target’ and bought 20-copies of ‘F.A.M.E’ (F*** ALL MY ENEMIES). I”m the one who spent HUNDRED$ on singles and ‘Takers’ tickets..

      re: These first-week “disappointing” numbers..

Team-Breezy needs a new enemy – we, the Lions, need to be fed. You see, when Chris did ‘Cake’ with Rihanna, he took away that ‘leg bone’ we were comfortably chewing on..

What this “bottle-throwing Wheel-Chair Jimmy/Meek Mill” incident now offers Chris is ‘fresh meat’ from/for which to feed us “Team-Breezy Lions”!! That aforementioned ‘leg bone’ was nevertheless getting old, and has long-since been gnawed into “road kill”.

If there’s ONE THING that these “disappointing” first-week’s numbers should tell Chris, and his staff/label, is that we “blog-lions” need to be fed. Don’t you see, “good” music, nor not, “WE” were the only missing components from ‘Fortune’ (you’d be disappointed to hear how many copies of ‘Fortune’ I purchased).

I now say this as a long-standing, fearless Team-Breezy Soldier’, and I want you to quote me:

“I want Chris to testify against Drake/Meek Mill. I want to then for ‘Wheelchair Jimmy’ to be exposed as the weak, envious, gimmick actor that his truly is!” If Chris can do this one, simple thing, then he can regain the love and loyalty of the “Team-Breezy Lions”!!

This, “Wheelchair Jimmy bottle-throwing” incident is a blessing…in disguise! I just hope Chris realizes what he’s now been handed, and LISTENS TO HIS LOYAL SUPPORTERS, AND DO AS WE(also Hip Hop/Rap) NOW DEMAND:

PUT ‘WHEELCHAIR JIMMY/MEEK MILL’ BEHIND BARS, IT’LL EXPOSE THEM FOR THE GIMMICK, NO-TALENT FRAUDS THAT THEY BOTH ARE!

      X,Y,”and Z” — OUT..!!

      • Mob July 11, 2012

        LOL,

Wheelchair Jimmy and Stop Kony 2012’s son Meek Mill will fall without Chris lifting a finger. I don’t want him involved, for when they do fall (and htey will) I don’t need Chris’ mitts on it! The massive injuries to white ppl will nail the coffin shut on the two an everyone else involved so don’t worry! 🙂

Up All Night went No. 1 in 16 countries let`s see if Chrissy Brown can do that !

  32. zania July 10, 2012

I think this album didn’t do well because of all the drama CB was involved with starting with like 3 to 4 twitter fights with other artist, his love triangle dividing his fans and alienating Drake and Nicki fans from the drama. Let be honest CB has no big artist collaborations on his album. Even Usher and Justin Bieber have big names collaborations on their album. CB put new artist on his album to give them exposure, but in the end it didn’t help him at all. With the decline in R & B music every artist are working together. If you listen to CB interview with MTV when he talks about the music industry is broke and he has to fund his own music videos. He had so many big name artists on Fame and that album didn’t go platinum, I guess he couldn’t afford it this time around, to pay for those collaborations. It is useless to compare Rihanna and other Artist to CB, he gets so much negative press from the media and himself. He could avoid some of the drama if he never responds. I really don’t like his new label RCA, because I could be wrong, but they are using CB because he is few of the artist they have that actually sold last year. If you notice Miramda Lambert is part of RCA, I believe some of the beefs and twitter rants were planned to help other artist get some PR and she did after the CB twitter fight. I think most of CB twitter fights are done on purpose to get him and other people some media attention. CB over did it this year with all the twitter fights and outside drama, it just turned some fans off. It worked for him last year, because it was like the media was picking on him, but clearly this year CB could’ve avoided some of the twitter fights. I think CB gets no media coverage over the past three years, when he does positive charity events or outside events, that his team felt that he has to act like a fool to get some media coverage. He doesn’t do interviews because of the questions they will ask him and the interviews about DV will overshadows what he was there to promote his album. So they relied on social media and CB created drama to get some PR. I hope CB take some time off and re evaluate himself and his career.

  33. zania July 10, 2012

I also think CB initial plan was to reunite with Rihanna this year as friends. It started with the remixes after the Grammys. I believe they were going to take the stage at the Grammys, but after the sudden death of Whitney houston, the Grammys dedicated their show to Whitney. I think all the stories over the past 6 months about CB and Rihanna, was to test the waters mainly with Rihanna fans and the media, but it didn’t work. Rihanna has did interviews, collaborations, hung out at the same club and events with CB and it still didn’t change the perceptions of how people feel about CB. It appears that Rihanna would never be seen with him, because of the media backlash and risking her career. I also think CB and Rihanna played a whole lot of games with their fans and the media, with this love triangle and it end up hurting CB more than Rihanna. CB looks like a bad boyfriend to Karrueche and the other half of his fans think he did Rihanna wrong, with that diss and she begging him on twitter . But I honestly believe that Rihanna is the one who is afraid to be seen with him, he gets so much hate, I know he is used to it, so I doubt it was him that was afraid to be photographs in the club with him. I think Karrueche and CB has some type of arrangements to help his imagine, that is why she really doesn’t care about all the media coverage and rumors about CB and Rihanna. His PR people had it all wrong, because Karrueche wasn’t going to help his image, because she isn’t a celebrity. The general public feels as though some women will accept anything for fame, but if he dated another a celebrity, that would’ve helped him. Because another celebrity has their own money and fame. I personally think CB needs to leave the women alone for now and the clubbing and drinking and rethink his life and career direction.

    • jamir21 July 10, 2012

      Long ass posts…

    • Mob July 11, 2012

NO on all accounts especially that previous post! I doubt if CB & his loyal, honest and kind lady froend have any type of “arrangement”!…LOL I think he just loves a woman who actually just loves him. He said he didn;t want ot ever date another celebrity because of what RihHO3 put him through! I’m not sure what you are saying here at all! Some of the so called CB/Team breezy memebers fall for anything and jump ship on command. I don’t undstand it?

ADELE IS SITTING ON A 10 MILLION SELLER IN THE US AND 22 MILLION WORLDWIDE…GOOD MUSIC SALES…

CHRIS HAS RUIN HIS OWN CAREER WITH HIS IMMATURE ANTICS

    • zania July 11, 2012

You mention Adele, name another R & B artist over the past two years who went platinum, other than Beyonce, Rihanna, and Usher last album. They were the only two. CB, Mary J Blige and R Kelly are the only R & B acts that sold over 500,000. I wish people would not compare white artist against black artist, which we all they will sell more.
CB career is ruin, he needs a break from the drama and negative publicity. He should take the rest of the year off. Last week he painted mural for DV center it got no coverage, but the judge wants to see more proof of his community service and it is getting a whole lot of coverage. Justin bieber can go to the gas station and get plenty of positive coverage. CB needs a break from the media, and maybe focus on writing songs for other artist and working on his toy line and art.

      • zania July 11, 2012

I meant CB career isn’t ruin, he just need a break from music and the media.

NOW THIS IS COMPLETELY TRUE! Ppl act like R&B is promoted and appreciated throughout the industry when it is not! When you own nothing you have no power or say about anything.

Ppl claim Adele’s CDs are epic no they are mere rip-offs of SOUL MUSIC repackaged and sen back to you in a different host! Not to say that she is not a good artists but her numbers are to incredtable to believe. I’ve hear dher Cds and they are good but I have heard better in R&B/Soul!!

At least Usher is 33… Where would Chris Brown’s career be in 10 years?

Chris, up to this point, you have no business offering champagne to people who pull bigger numbers than you, okay? Keep your coins if you don’t wanna go broke.

I feel sorry for Rihanna ….why EXACTLY can’t she hit #1? Sh!t is unfair! Eff TeamBrokey, I’m RihannaNavel now!!!

    • zania July 11, 2012

Chris Brown will be fine, he is very talented man. I will always be a CB fan, never jump ship when things are not looking good for my fav. CB down fall will always be a woman, he needs to focus on CB and not a relationship at this time. He did great with Fame and I know it cost him last year with all those producers, promos and videos and he funded himself. I think he has too many people on his staff at this point of his career. He needs to downsize and save on cost. He always have a whole of lot people traveling with him, his family, friends and team. They are killing his pockets. He seems afraid to be by himself always having a large group around him. there are other guys his age that doesn’t have 10 women and guys with them at all time. Look at Trey Sonz and Drake, they are his age and you don’t see them with a huge posse. CB fortune is a good album, I have Don’t judge me on repeat, loved that song, Its the best song on his album.

    • zania July 11, 2012

        TOURING SOON DEAR…………….

  41. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) July 11, 2012

    It’s not bad.

Some people haven’t really paid attention to the charts lately I guess. If you did, you’d know that most mainstream albums this year sold half as much as the respective artist’s previous album. Usher’s last album sold 400k. How much did his new album sell? It hasn’t even sold 400k in total after a month! Nicki’s debut sold 400k first week and her new one sold 250k! The same applies to Chris.

Anyway, the album is solid except for some unecessary fillers, but it’s a good album. Much weaker than ‘F.A.M.E’, but much better than most urban pop albums released this year. The only people who criticize it are the ones who wanted a full-on electropop album.

  42. theman July 11, 2012

Chris is a major star, but his fanbase isn’t that big to the point where he can’t do interviews and act up. His banter and antics are part of the reason his sales are the way they are. This album was rushed. It should have just been a rerelease of “Fame”. Another thing that hurt his sales is the fact that he released way too much free music. It’s called oversaturation. Twitter followers do not equal sales. Stop blaming the climate for low album sales. Good music sales if the public is receptive to it.

Sayit as it is, Sam, it underperformed despite those hit singles. At least the first week. All’s not lost, the sales could eventually pick up. I listened to the album, it’s better than I expected it tobe, more mature than the previous one.

  45. ck July 11, 2012

It is so hilariious to see how in todays industry this is called a success whiles in the and 90’s, 80’s this would have been a total flop album lol anyway congratulations to Chris brown

  46. Tbozfan10 July 11, 2012

Pop royalty you need to stfu with “black ppl are racist as whites.” ummm no. I’m white and I’ll tell you that is not true. Pick up a damn history book for once and I’m talking recent history. White ppl created the who concept of race in order to capitalize and steal wealth and justify cheap labor and oppression. No white person should ever be calling a black person racist you dumbf*ck.

And all you ppl blaming black people for “not buying albums, etc.” fall to realize that whites make up 65% of the country so of course they’re going to make a bigger percentage of albums sold. Duh..

    • Girrrl July 11, 2012

so what is your own explanation of ppl saying ” F*** adele” and i want black ppl to reign ? why is she is so successful ?

if you are white as you say , you will feel that was racist. to be called out and ppl say to you “f*** U” just cuz you are white ?!

i don’t need to read a damn history book to see the hypocrisy , i’m egyptian b**** , I AM HISTORY.

    • Elvick July 15, 2012

That is the dumbest comment ever and there’s a lot of dumb ones out there.

A racist is a racist. Period. The color of the racist has nothing to do with it.

The fact you think that black people should be exempt from being called racist, even if they are racist, is racist in itself.

You’ve just switched the negative (special) treatment to positive (special) treatment. It’s backed by the same reason too, because they’re black.

If someone is NOT a racist, then they don’t deserve to be called racist. Color of the person’s skin is irrelevant.

  47. Justin July 11, 2012

Now all the Rihanna rats are gonna say it’s a flop, he no good, this album aint gonna sell. Well…his album reached #1, a place her albums will never see even if she and Lil’ Kim were the only 2 people left in the industry.

The album is actually a pretty good album. I love Don’t Judge Me. I think that is the best song on the album and I have yet to hear it on the radio. I think people purchase music they enjoy listening to, and could care less about the nonsense on twitter. Most of the people I spoke to didn’t know the album dropped. I think this album still has a long way to go and I wouldn’t count it out just yet.

    @MOB re: July 10, 2012 at 9:12 pm —

    ..LISTEN TO ME!

    ..CAREFULLY READ WHAT I WRITE!

..HEAR WHAT I NOW HAVE TO SAY!

I’m the one who took that distorted, misunderstood, misquoted, rubbish “Cell Phone Records Warrant/police record” to an actual lawyer, and then made him explain it ALL to me. It was ONLY THEN that I realized what racist Harvey Levin was trying to do; it was THEN that I organized the very first “Team-Chris” and took to these blogs to fight the good fight!

I’m the one who drove down to ‘Best Buy’/’Target’ and bought 20-copies of ‘Graffiti’/’F.A.M.E’ (F*** ALL MY ENEMIES).

Don’t you see, “good” music, or not, “WE” were the only missing components from ‘Fortune’ (you’d be disappointed to hear how many copies of ‘Fortune’ I purchased).

I now say this as a long-standing, fearless Team-Breezy Soldier’, and I want you to quote me:

“I want Chris to testify against Drake/Meek Mill. I then want ‘Wheelchair Jimmy’ to be exposed as the weak, envious, ‘gimmick actor’ that his truly is!” If Chris can do this one, simple thing, then he can quickly regain the love and loyalty of the “Team-Breezy Lions”!!

This, “Wheelchair Jimmy bottle-throwing” incident is a blessing…in disguise! I just hope Chris realizes what he’s now been handed, and LISTENS TO HIS MOST LOYAL OF SUPPORTERS, AND DO AS WE(also Hip Hop/Rap) NOW DEMAND:

PUT ‘WHEELCHAIR JIMMY/MEEK MILL’ BEHIND BARS, IT’LL EXPOSE THEM FOR THE ENVIOUS, GIMMICK, NO-TALENT FRAUDS THAT THEY BOTH ARE!

    X,Y,”and Z” — OUT..!!

    • ZANIA July 11, 2012

I want CB to leave Drake alone and other twitter fights. This isn’t the way to get attention. CB needs more than teambreezy to sell records. CB needs to focus on positivity and stay out of the media.

      • X,Y,”and Z” July 11, 2012

        @Zania re: July 11th, 11:40 am —

“I want CB to leave Drake alone”

‘Wheelchair Jimmy’ should’ve thought ’bout that before he hid behind his seven bodyguards and swung that bottle at CB..!!!!

And “I”, “ME” who has been on THIS team since day-1, who spent HUNDRED$ on ‘Graffiti’, ‘FAME’ and ‘Takers’ now demands that Chris put ‘Canadian-Bacon Jew Wheelchair Jimmy’, and Meek Mill behind bars.

“Drake” is an actor who’s real name is ‘Wheelchair Jimmy’ who is now playing the role of a lifetime: “Rapper”.

If Chris just confirms what EVERYONE has already said: ‘Wheelchair Jimmy’ and Meek Mill threw those bottles that sliced-up those women, then all will be well: I’ll go on the blogs and fight the good fight, and Team-Breezy/Breezy will yet-again prosper.

@Shadyless… Congratz to Chris for his World Wide Success and topping the charts in the US and International.. Some people need special prayer because their lives are feel with hatered. If the people involved are able to forgive No One cares about your opinion… maybe that is why you are mad andhave little respect for others and yourself. Chris will continue to be successful because he is bless with talent no matter how many devils in sheep clothing tries to stop him. @Zania do not allow others to take your joy… these people lived off negative.. if you ever notice. When Chris has a positive blog no one comments but as soon as there is negative the gates of hell opens up. It just proves that certain people are miserable and the only way to be happy is to inflict hate and negativity because they have no one.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Chris Brown scored his second No. 1 debut with new album Fortune topping the Billboard 200 chart on Wednesday, despite failing to impress critics in early reviews last week.

Fortune sold 134,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, a considerably lower debut than the singer’s previous album F.A.M.E., which also reached No. 1 with 270,000 copies in its debut week last year.

Brown’s was the only new album in the top 10 this week.

A surprise entry from pop star Katy Perry took the No. 2 slot on the album chart. Her Teenage Dream record, released almost two years ago in August 2010, notched 80,000 unit sales last week, fueled by her new movie Katy Perry: Part Of Me and Amazon.com’s offer of the album for 99 cents on July 3.

The Amazon.com offer, which saw several albums priced at 99 cents for one day only, also pushed Gotye’s Making Mirrors, Fun.’s Some Nights and the Black Keys’ El Camino albums back into the top 10 of the Billboard 200, at No. 6, No. 7 and No. 10 respectively.

Justin Bieber’s Believe held steady at No. 3, Maroon 5’s Overexposed notched No. 4, and Linkin Park’s Living Things fell from the top spot last week to No. 5.

He’s got a new album full of sugary sweet songs. But Chris Brown is still a bad boy with unresolved anger issues, if his latest antics are anything to go by

    Bad boys.

You just can’t hold ’em down, can you?

It has been three years since US R&B star Chris Brown infamously beat up and threatened his then-girlfriend, Barbardian pop singer Rihanna, right before the Grammy Awards.

But as recent incidents have shown, he doesn’t seem to have wised up.

In the immediate two years since the incident with Rihanna, Brown, 23, kept his head down and worked on returning to his origins as the young Michael Jackson that everyone touted him to be when he started in 2003.

His 2011 album F.A.M.E showed a singer who was spreading his wings musically to much critical acclaim, reaping awards all over the place, including his first Grammy for Best R&B album.

Unfortunately, this year, we’ve seen Brown back in form as the belligerent, immature young star he was when he decided to throw some blows on his famous ex.

He released his latest album Fortune last week, and despite – or perhaps because of – the bad press, it shot straight to No. 1 on the iTunes chart. It also helped Brown score his first No. 1 on the UK albums chart.

There was a whiff of what was going to be in store this year when, in January, his manager Tina Davis told Billboard magazine that his team had decided they were not letting him do interviews so he could “concentrate on performing and recording”.

“He signed up to sing and entertain. Not to talk about his personal life,” she said. He’d certainly already proven to be reliably unreliable when it came to managing his anger in front of others. (See report, below.)

So while he’s kept the official press to a minimum – talking mostly about the new album and his recent foray into the art world – he’s certainly kept tabloid ink flowing with his antics while he’s off the clock.

Just a few weeks before the release of Fortune, Brown’s temper reared its ugly head again, this time in a New York nightclub, and allegedly with Rihanna’s ex, Canadian rapper Drake.

Not content with rage-tweeting the incident, Brown showed just how not sorry he was by releasing a song dissing Drake in a rap verse on a remix of rapper Chief Keef’s song I Don’t Like.

He raps, “They throwing bottles / I’m throwing models”, before directly referencing Drake through one of the latter’s song titles, Take Care, and the acronym Yolo (which stands for You Only Live Once), which became a Twitter trending topic, thanks to its appearance on Drake’s single, The Motto.

Not content with that, Brown has apparently accepted a challenge by website FilmOn.tv to fight Drake in a boxing ring, for the sum of US$10 million (S$12.7 million).

Perhaps he’s acting out against being continually dragged through the mud in the press, despite public attempts to atone, like when he broke down during a performance of Man In The Mirror for a Michael Jackson tribute at the BET Awards in 2010.

Then, he sounded like a changed man, saying during his acceptance speech for the AOL Fandemonium award: “I let y’all down before, but I won’t do it again, I promise.”

After other stars and viewers reacted negatively to his Grammy comeback earlier this year, Brown angrily tweeted: “…right before the worlds (sic) eyes a man shows how he can make a Big mistake and learn from it, but still has to deal with day to day hatred! You guys love to hate!!!”

But when he’s not ranting on Twitter or getting into scuffles, Brown can be charming.

In the 20-minute documentary Defining Moments: Chris Brown’s Journey, which aired early last week on US channel BET, Brown walked down memory lane, talking fondly about his time as an up-and-coming star.

    TV APPEARANCES

Looking back on one of his first TV appearances as a 15-year-old on hip-hop video show 106 and Park, he recounted how he was “nervous because Bow (rapper Bow Wow) was there”. At least one person has got his back, though.

Rihanna’s dad Ronald Fenty told UK magazine Grazia recently that he believed Brown has “matured”. “Everyone is entitled to make a mistake,” he said. “Her fans are hoping it will happen. They see them as a perfect couple.”

Not that Fenty is the best person to listen to, considering he’s been called out by his own daughter for talking to tabloids about her, even right after the infamous incident with Brown.

“He never called to find out how I was doing, if I was alive, nothing… He went straight to the press and got a cheque,” Rihanna, 24, told Vogue magazine last April.

Rihanna herself seems to have put the past behind her. Rumours have been swirling for months about whether the two will get back together soon, considering they collaborated on a track, Birthday Cake, earlier this year.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar for the August issue, she said: “I understood that people had every right to be concerned about it. But I didn’t see it that way because I’m in a different place.”

Brown has a ton of fans behind him too.

During his Grammy performance this year, some smitten supporters tweeted that they would let Brown beat them up any day.

Alarming, but at least he’s still got some love.

    Fight club

Just three weeks ago, Brown got into one of his most public altercations yet since the Rihanna incident – ironically with her ex, Drake.

It’s emerged that Drake was the one who apparently started the fight by returning a bottle of champagne sent by Brown, supposedly with a note saying he was still intimate with Rihanna.

A heated exchange escalated into a full-on fight, and bottles and punches were thrown.

But it’s Brown’s immediate behaviour after the fight that has been more damning. .

While Drake shied away from confirming whether he had been part of the altercation at all, Brown was quick to post a picture of a battle scar on his Instagram account, before posting derogatory remarks about Drake and his crew on Twitter.

    Sore winner

Not content with bagging a Grammy this year – after a two-year disappearance from the awards ceremony post-Rihanna rough-up – the sensitive Brown took to Twitter to rage against the folks who disagreed with his return to the show.

US country singer Miranda Lambert had tweeted: “Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead (sic – Lambert’s single about a woman getting her revenge against an abusive ex) and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.”

Showing a worrying lack of maturity, he tweeted back: “HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now!”

    Nice one, Brown.

    Backstage rage

Last year, it was reported that Brown “went ballistic” backstage after being asked about the Rihanna incident on Good Morning America.

A source from the show’s network ABC told E! News that he started swearing and throwing furniture around, adding: “He smashed a chair into a window and that glass is so thick, people heard shattering and security was called.”

    Rihanna roughed up

Who would beat up one of the world’s biggest pop stars…the night before music’s biggest night?

    Brown would, and did.

He and Rihanna apparently started fighting in his car after leaving a pre-Grammy party thrown by Clive Davis the night before the actual awards show.

In the midst of the fight, Brown stopped his Lamborghini at the side of a road, which is when Rihanna decided to toss his car keys out the window, sending Brown into a rage.

He then started punching her and at one point, put his hands around her throat and threatened her life.

For that, he was sentenced to serve five years’ probation and to spend 1,400 hours of physical labour, in addition to attending domestic violence counselling sessions.

This article was first published in The New Paper.

  65. BABY July 12, 2012

A judge ordered an audit of Chris Brown’s community service progress Tuesday after a prosecutor handling his felony assault case cited a possible discrepancy in the amount of work he has performed.

Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray requested the audit because she says the records are not clear on how many hours Brown performed and where the work has been done. Brown had been allowed to perform six months’ worth of community labour in his home state of Virginia, but a judge said probation officials in Los Angeles should review detailed records to ascertain how much work he has actually done
