I absolutely love this song. It sounds completely different from anything else out there right now and could honestly be a single. I’m also really pleased with the fact that she actually writes her own music and doesn’t just take songwriting credits because she changed one word…unlike another fading, lacefront wearing “songstress” who shall remain nameless. I’m checking for Dawn. 😀

butch dont throw shade tho…bc Dawn looks up to that songstress you are referring to…she said it plenty of times and most recently last week on twitter…i like Dawn but seriously tho? thats how u feel?

It’s a bit of a messy attempt at a dance/dub-step track. It could’ve worked if it wasn’t for that b-section. it’s a little much for the radio. As for the other “songstress” you referred to, if I’m correct in my assumptions of who you are speaking of, she has solo hits. Can I see the receipts on Dawn’s solo career? Additionally, “that other chick” laid the foundation for Dawn’s whole singing approach. So please, get off your high horse.

i think you’ll find the artist you’re speaking of laid no such foundation – she’s an urban/pop artist. dawn is R&B artist – little to no POP is invloved in ANY of her songs…

      • DeL_Cappella July 17, 2012

were is your receipt because the artist that he was speaking of is the epitome of r&b… Dawn is more so urban/pop/electric with a lil bit of soul… thank you

the epitome of the genre in which dawn represents would be brandy – R&B vocals, tracks, harmonies and general feel od the songs.
who you’re both speaking of has been commercialised and making music for the POP charts since the “survivor” days

By no means generic, which is a good thing. I hope people stop sleeping on her so much. I’m not a fan, but she’s obviously talented and unique and she deserves more success.

I like, though it sounds like ‘Euphoria’!

This song is incredible. She outdid herself with this one

Dawn is incredible talented. She is the female addition to the music industry’s Frank Oceans, Drakes, Miguels, etc. She’s eclectic, soulful, dark, and her vocals are very unique. Her & JoJo for me two underrated female vocalist that bring different darker music to the table.

My only hitch with her is that sometimes some of her songs have too much going on in the production. She has an amazing voice and tone so she doesn’t need all the extra production going on in the background because it drowns out her voice. Other than that I really like this song from her.
