New Song: Little Mix – ‘Wings’

Published: Sunday 1st Jul 2012 by David

Say hey to ‘Wings‘, the second single from Brit Pop upstarts Little Mix.

Boasting a refreshingly upbeat sound and those harmonies, the inspiring jam surfaced online this morning and has already whipped up momentum for their debut LP.

We have to warn you though, if you were expecting a ‘Microwave Pop’ Katy Perry throw-away from the girls, this one is not for you.

It’s something between a great pop song and a bad Eurovision entry. I wish them luck.

This is actually very good, wasn’t expecting this to be honest. I was expecting a Katy Perry bubblegum pop party but wow, this is really good. Hats off to Ms Kelly Rowland for emphasizing on the harmonies, they have become much tighter and better. I just hate that they are signed to Simco Ltd because it is not a good record label. That said, this is good and I’m kind of excited for the album. Job well done girls.

She used to emphasize that they tighten up their vocals during the lives shows. And not that it matters but she told 3 out of the 4 girls that she sees them in a group.

I see they went for a cross between Destiny’s Child and En-Vogue Anthemeque…hmmmm

This will be huge and will sell more than Tulisa. These girls will be the female One Direction and just as annoyingly smug as Harry Styles and Zane combined……mark my words.

Yeeeeeeeeeeees! That beat though…LOVING IT! I wasn’t expecting bublegum/microwave pop. I know their stuff would have more of an urban flair.

Naaah not strong and only one can kinda sing. They are also to fat and ugly to have teen girls chasing them. At least Girls Aloud and Spice girls were better looking with better songs

a.K.A Sam is mad that Katy can do well on the singles charts unlike his faves.

Good start, mediocre middle and okay bridge and end. What they lack as a girl group is that although their harmonies are good, all their vocals are similar bar 1.

The song could’ve come harder using that beat, it became a bit repetitious relatively early on

YAS they better sang. That beat is hot.

This might just ease the pain of knowing a Destiny’s Child reunion is highly unlikely for a long time

I’m surprisingly impressed – I thought their first single would be crap. Being with Syco will do them no favours though and no control over their own music and image (take a look at Cher Lloyd for a prime example of someone who Syco is f****** up big time, don’t like her but that bubblegum pop pap they have her singing isn’t what she wanted to do). This should do well enough in the UK charts.
