  2. JoJo (istan4rihanna) July 2, 2012

Don’t love it nor do i hate it but not one of her best at all especially if this is the first single

Sounds like a demo and yet ANOTHER Dr Luke production. It’s good but I think her shelf life has passed. She’s already hit her peak and now I’m just bored. Maybe if she went back to the R&B music she used to become famous, I would jump out of my seat! She can actually sing but the pop rock songs don’t showcase her voice.

    • Peter Griffin July 2, 2012

Not Dr Luke I meant Martin Max & Shellback. Dr Luke does Avril Lavigne don’t he. Anyway weren’t they all trained by the same person, they all sound the same.

      • Zach July 2, 2012

Greg Kurstin produced this. She hasn’t worked with Max and Shellback, I don’t believe.

Avril hasn’t touched Dr. Luke since The Best Damn Thing.

I LOVE IT. Will definitely get radio play. I don’t see how some people are saying it’s not her best. It sounds and has the same vibe as a lot of her previous songs, which did very well.

    i kinda like it!!!

  6. Stormy July 2, 2012

I used to LOVE P!nk, but this is so disappointing. It feels like after ‘Try This’ flopped and after ‘So What’ became her biggest hit ever, she’s simply catering to the radio. Where is the fierce girl that was singing ‘U Make Me Sick’? Where is the amazing vocalist that sang ‘Just Like A Pill’? And where are the real lyrics in the vein of ‘Family Portrait’?

Real edginess is not about cursing. ‘S***’ is a very normal world at this point, almost mundane, so swearing over a Katy Perry-like beat does not make her any edgier tbh. I’m always checking for Pink, but if her whole album sounds like this and if it’s on the same level as ‘Funhouse’, I won’t buy it. Still, she’s one of the most talented around, so I hope she finds what works for her and helps her stand out instead of fit in.

    • Gilberto July 2, 2012

I couldn’t have said it better. I think her label and herself are afraid of trying something new. ‘Try This’ really did a huge damage on P!nk’s career. They thought it was over, but after U + Ur hands’ success, they’ve been using the same formula over and over again. In other words, she’s a prisoner of Max Martin’s productions.

All of the above. Well said

For you people who don’t think she writes good recent songs may I refer you to: Crystal ball, one foot wrong, perfect, the one that got away, runaway, im not dead, and I can go on and on and on. The issue is that none of you are pink fans, but merely radio listeners. Step outside the box and you will see that pink is better than ever, it’s just you have to buy the album to realize that, and as a fan that is ok with me!

damn im late but whats with the lukewarm reception?dont play with me yall

i’m not a big fan of her , But the song is good. not offensive and has some good lyrics, But since you are an experienced commenter in here , take my advice , Do NOT look at the comments before you have your own thought of the thing in hands. cuz b****** above might having biased opinions.

read the post , have your own thought , type your comment then read the comments , i don’t even read all the comments , i pick the people i think their opinions is “IT” to an extent , like @ASAP for example 😀

First of all, people who say Pink should return to the sound of her first album are stupid. Pink has always distanced herself from her debut album and says she wasn’t happy with the direction. And it was her lowest selling album, despite the fact that sound was the most popular sound of that time. Why would she now return to that sound she hated at a time when even people who have been successful doing RnB can’t shift RnB albums? It would be the stupidest thing ever.
And as far as Blow Me (One Last Kiss) goes, it’s another classic Pink hit. I know people will bang out about her sticking to a formula, but I don’t think that matters when you it’s your signature sound. People saying it’s Katy Perry-esque are also way off. Like saying Madonna copies Gaga. Pink (and possibly Kelly Clarkson) were the singers who made this pop/rock scene popular when RnB was dominating. Years before Katy Perry.
I don’t think this song will hit number 1 in US but I think it’ll go top ten. I also don’t think she’ll get her first number 1 album in the US off the back of this, but it could climb in the future depending on the other singles. It will go number 1 everywhere else though, like Pink always does.
Looks like she’d destined to continue being the world’s most overlooked superstar.

    • ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) July 2, 2012

Noone is asking her to go back to that sound. It’s old and washed. Most people want her to make ‘Misundastood’ 2.0., but I understand this is not possible. All I want from her is to return to being unique. There’s no sound or blueprint she can go back to, it’s a whole style of being edgy and different that Max Martin’s easy hit have taken away from her.

      • Mad-On-Her July 2, 2012

I think Pink just likes to use the ‘Max Martin easy hit’ to introduce the album, but like Funhouse – I suspect the new album will have much more depth and ‘edge’ on the other tracks. I think Pink kind of has to play the game to some extent, more than other artists who’ve been successful as long as she has, because she doesn’t s*** around and do gimmicks like so many others – I don’t even need to name names I’m sure – so doesn’t get that automatic widespread attention like they do. All I know is, Pink has never released a bad album. Her many, many supporters know this and I think her fanbase is very loyal. I think she’s been the best album artist of 21st century – even though I stan for Madonna. And she is unbelievable live. Her voice is better than Beyonce’s and Christina’s.

      • ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) July 2, 2012

Even if that’s the case, I found ‘Funhouse’ extremely weak sonically. The lyrics and the vocals were on point, but the arrangements and production weren’t.

As far as her vocals are concerned, she has a unique tone and a raspiness and she can definitely carry a tune. But let’s be honest here, she can’t reach Beyonce’s technique or Christina’s range. Still, she’s in the top 5 of best female vocalists of her generation.

    @TGJ Staff —

…And just how is this..this..”not-a-rebellious-t***-anymore-wife-and-mother-with-child” white woman relevant to anyone who sips grape juice again..?!

I guess she’s as “relevant” as TGJ’s favorite daughter – the almost-40-something-year-old Kelly Rowland..

    X,Y,”and Z”

  11. X,Y,”and Z” July 2, 2012

The White People, Who Black Folks, Shouldn’t Give Two Shits About *clears throat*:

    1.) PINK.
    2.) Harvey Levin.
    3.) Perez Hilton.
    4.) Kim Kardashian.
5.) ANYONE with the last name..”Kardashian”.
    6.) Justin Bieber.
    7) The White Rapper (aka the man who, not unlike Mel Gibson and Charlie Sheen, has beaten-on women for DECADES, and ONLY because of ‘skin color’, has gotten away with it!).
    8.) Justin Timberlake.
    9.) Britney Spears.
10.) Anderson Cooper (the “ridiculousness” of a homosexual “wagging his fingers” at heterosexuals leaves one speechless..almost).
11.) ‘Canadian-Bacon Jew Actor’: “Wheelchair Jimmy” – Why are you now, so puzzled? Wheelchair Jimmy is “JEW FIRST”!! ..His”good” friend, Meek Mill, is about to show Drake just how different Rikers Island is from tony, upscale, Forest Hill, Toronto.
12.) Kelly Rowland. “Now you’re being just dumb,” you’re now thinking/saying?! But am I?! “White is”, as “White says/does”.. And it WAS Kelly Rowland who did say “Orlando Bloom, and men who look like him, are T-H-E most beautiful of all men.” <–Kelly Rowland's exact words!
13.) (left the "biggest" offender/perpetrator for last..) Oprah Winfrey. Yup, "Oprah Winfrey"!! Oprah Winfrey is as "white", on the inside, as Harvey Levin is on the outside! "25-years of Oprah Winfrey" has done more to debase, demonize and emasculate black men, than anything that Hollywood, "Americana Racism", and/or any "Tuskegee Experiment" had EVER done! You can take note: young black men will 'reduce-to-rubble' that all-girls school Oprah Winfrey built in S.Africa. TRUST!!

X,Y,"and Z" – OUT.. I now return you to your dreadfully grey existences, and your regularly scheduled programming..

this comment right here proves how ignorant you are!!!!!!!!!! now i see why you thought nicki was going to be the next best thing, because you are in such a state of delusion. and besides that you are down right racist yourself, and the comment proves it.

its people like you that go out and bash all the white people, you are actually feeding into the perception that black people are ignorant, its people like you who really hurt the reputation of the black person. work on yourelf and don’t feed into the stereotype. because people with your type of attitude doesn’t help anybody.

    • Virtuoso Intellect July 2, 2012

      Sick b******

    • MusicBoy July 3, 2012

Now, if a white persone would’ve made a list about black people. You would’ve been trying to start a riot, calling NAACP and Al Sharpton. If you can’t say something nice or intelligent, keep that mess to yourself!

  16. KD July 4, 2012

How or why Beyonce’s name made it to this post is beyond me…ADD maybe?

Anywho I love Pink and in true Pink fashion the first single is nonsensical junk (which will be followed by a LOL vid), which will thereafter be followed by some amazing music.

HATE THE SONG…BUT I DO NOT DOUBT THAT I WILL LOVE HER ALBUM.

  17. LadyDevilish September 4, 2012

I think that the song is really great. I dont think she is just trying to be a ‘radio pleaser’. She always writes songs that are personal to her and mean something. Personally i have been able to relate to pretty much all of pinks songs and she stands out from the rest of todays musicians. All of her albums have been different from one another and they all have a new and exciting vibe. I much prefer her albums after ‘Cant take me home’ because she started writing her own songs, although i do still love her first too! She has inspired me in so many ways and helped me grow as a person, i have used her music as a therapy through out my life and i know that her next album will definatly help me in some way and many others too. She is awesome and always will be in my eyes 🙂
