Bargain bin songstress Tulisa has unleashed the follow-up to her chart-topper ‘Young’.
Cue ‘Live It Up (ft. Tyga)’.
Produced and written by Kelly Rowland cohort by Rico Love, the cut marks an altogether more Urban affair than her last solo outing. The question, though, is it actually any good? Take a listen after jump…
While both the production and hook are fairly solid, Tulisa’s vocals were not. Indeed, at countless points she was flat out shouting; making the track sound like construction noise.
Unfortunate, as composition-wise, it’s easily one of Rico’s better efforts in a minute. Yet, true to her “basic nature”, Ms. Contostavlos simply can’t do it justice.
Instead of her team shelling out that £££ on top flight producers such as Rico and The Dream, their coins would be better spent on a vocal coach and dance classes. Case, point…
Anyway…

When Tyga becomes a song’s saving grace you know the main singer needs to get a day job
Anyway, the song is not solid and I don’t think it’s one of Rico Love’s best productions either tbh. She probably wants to appeal to the audience of N Dubz, which is cool, but she could have chosen a better track.

At no point in this does she “shout”, she’s always had a gruff element to her voice.
If you don’t like it why post about it.
Simple.
Not the best song but not half as bad you make it out to be!

I kinda disagree, she does sound like she’s shouting and straining her voice, like she’ll be doing major vocal damage.
Vocal wise she sounds like a budget Pixie Lott/Rita Ora.
I personally didnt find the song catchy or nice. I found it generic RnPop like Cheryl Cole and Cher LLoyd.
What happened to the song she was recording the video in Harlesden gone?

Sam,
Well? Are you going report on desperate Rita Ora now releasing RIP AND ROC THE LIFE IN AMERICA? This is added to Radioactive – Three singles to launch in America?
Are you going to report about how she is BACK IN THE STUDIO – trying to make another song?
How she is back in LA making another EXPENSIVE , HEAVILY PRICED , OVERSTYLED MUISC VIDEO.
HOW MUCH MORE MONEY THAT ROC NATION AND BEYONCE HAVE TO SPEND ON THIS FLOP?

Speaking of her single “Young”
Ive noticed that almost all europop songs sound like we found love. “CALL MY NAME” “LETS GO” “YOUNG” …

Just ok really but Tyga is the best part.
I though she had a bit more soul in her vocals but i musta been high when i thought that cus this rock strain type vocal yhing she doing nowaday is not the bizness AT ALL…
Vocal bootcamp is in order because she sounded better with ndubz.
Stop that pushing too hard in the vocal.
I said sound ok but the flaws are her deliverance on this type of song.
Can improve though so thats a plus
