Watch: Brandy Bids Goodbye To ‘Bran-Nu’, Talks Ray J & Kim Kardashian

Published: Tuesday 24th Jul 2012 by Rashad
Brandy bids adieu to Bran-Nu?

As fans eagerly await the visual for Brandy’s new single ‘Put It Down’, the diva is announcing that she has found something else to put down…a try at rapping.  For, with the assistance of hip-hop heavyweight Timbaland, the singer introduced ‘Bran-Nu’ – a rapping alter ego that flexed another of the songstress’s many talents.

However, if her recent interview with Q Deezy of Hot 107.9, fans can wish farewell to the short lived rap attempts of the ‘Human’ hitmaker.  Also brushing up on her electrifying tribute to Whitney Houston (BET Awards), her Tyler Perry directed return to film (‘The Marriage Counselor’), and headlines involving brother Ray J and film co-star Kim Kardashian, it’s safe to say this is indeed a great watch!

Get into it all below:

Brandy is doing a lot of talking and forgets that we need to see that video with her and CB. She talks too much like she’s hard or something…

    • Oww July 24, 2012

Patience is a virtue, she said the video will be out in a week or 2, no rush cyz the cd is coming out on 10/2

    • Del_Cappella July 25, 2012

the song was just release to radio 3 weeks ago…dayumm! just because the team released it to youtube prematurely dosent mean it was ready to take off

  2. Monstarebel July 24, 2012

JULY 24TH AND STILL NO F***** MUSIC VIDEO, BRANDY YOU CAN JUST KISS THIS ERA GOODBYE!

    • Oww July 24, 2012

Why does she have to kiss the era goodbye when the song was just released to radio. U have to realiize it is a team behind these artists and that they cant just drop material cuz the fans are waiting. Good things come to those who wait.

      • That B*tch July 25, 2012

In that case, then who’s gonna be waiting for this b**** if she still hasn’t released the damn video yet? Nobody is gonna be patient enough for that, they’ll just move to someone else.

  3. ENOUGH ONIKA July 24, 2012

Um Bran-Nu been scrapped since 2010…

    • Quan July 26, 2012

Good….she does not need to rap. Just sing thanks!

  4. cocodior3069 July 24, 2012

    • Del_Cappella July 25, 2012

I TELL YOU; the HATE keeps coming Brandy’s way but YA’LL STILL CHECKING!!!!! If you don’t like her then take your Trifling asses on somewhere!!!!!! Anyway I love Brandy’s personality and I know that her TEAM is really laying out the red carpet for her……I believe that this project will be very successful for her.

    • Tanya H July 24, 2012

      I agree!!

  6. Honestly Speaking July 24, 2012

She is horribly mismanaged and instead of focusing on giving her supporters a music video to the lead single from her new album (that has been out for months now) she is doing interviews talking about the only things that keep her semi-relevant: Kim Kardashian and Ray J’s s** tape and Whitney Houston. It’s sad that interviewers aren’t interested in her or her music enough to not bring up someone else as soon as she sits down to speak.

    • Rythm July 24, 2012

They are promotional radio interviews for the single. That is what one does when they release a single, go on a readio tour to have that said single played. Also, those questions are being posed to her, she has to answer them. You aren’t that dense are you?

      • Honestly Speaking July 25, 2012

Well, if those questions weren’t being asked of her then what else would they be able to question her about? it isn’t as though her single is flying up the charts or she has done something relevant and worthy of speaking about within the last five to ten years.

Other artists with more relevancy than her just released a statement (if they chose to make one) and kept it moving. Brandy is the only one that I know of (outside of Monica) that has to make every interview somehow tie into what happened with Whitney. She may be genuine but it just comes off as desperate and attention seeking.

why is this site still talking about rayj and kim. Kim has moved on (upgrade, etc..) and rayj and bran nu are still working on trying to remain relevant. Brandy needs to stop teasing her faithful followers, she know ain’t nobody in the music business checkin for her. Join the other over thirty artist and wait your turn.,or either line up some local shows and get on your grind. Her season has come and gone. Chris Brown has deserted R&B, and Rap for Techno Music and skinny jeans, so that calabo hasn’t generated the interest she was hoping for. Brandy you still have your voice and fans that will buy a ticket to your oldies but goodies show.

Ohhh man I just love this girl….

I need this video and a new single ASAP…

  9. asipofbrandy July 24, 2012

for all of you that “aren’t checking” for her, you sure have a way of showing it and I just have to say that it is okay for you all to admit your real feelings . #ijs

I personally enjoyed this interview. Fans really need to quit it with rushing her with this video. She JUST started promoting the song, lol! Artists tend to release songs earlier these days to get a response. It’s a way of making sure they’re heading in the right direction. For example, Frank Ocean released his song, “Thinking About You” like a million months ago, yet the CD JUST came out. Brandy is doing everything right if you ask me. It’s like everything is working out in her favor…she’s giving great performances, she KILT her BET performance, she’s already hit the top 50 with “Put it Down” with NO PROMO for the song, AND she already shot the video. I’m pretty sure it’s being edited as we speak. So people, chill the hell out and enjoy the ride!

  11. V.I.C. July 24, 2012

I LOVED THIS INTERVIEW! I LOVE HER LOOK, PERSONALITY AND MUSIC THIS TIME AROUND. Everything for her is happening in “divine timing” as she continues to make all her promotional appearances. I hope that October 2nd sees her have her first #1 album!!!!

  12. Viciousss July 24, 2012

I know Someone wasn’t talking about Kim ‘upgraded’. Kim’s just after any black d*** that can make people give her 15 more minutes of fame.

At least Ray J tapped it before everyone and their mama gave a deposit to the Kardashian s**** bank.

I have faith in brandy. She’s a beautiful singer and she’s determined, she’ll find a way to make it work.

  13. seaun July 24, 2012

BRANDY is one of the BEST vocalists in the world .
who is highly underated & poorly treated :/ people don’t do brandy fairly for some odd reason shes beautiful, has a great personality , and actually REAL unlike other celebrities ; the world is to revolved on BEYONCE, LADY GAGA , & RIHANNA then they forget the singers that are 10x more talented and leave them there with low sales. its time to support real music ! example : CHANNEL ORANGE . ANYWAYS im excited for Brandys upcoming project 🙂 #2-11

I liked some of Bran Nu’s work, she put out some decent rap songs. Not sho of what i am talking bout? Chec these unreleased songs; #Whatever u Like with Timbaland, Hot Shot, Vibrant thing and Show dat Bra. I enjoyed them for real. I wish she could find a way to incorporate it into her style, however i wouldn’t encourage her to be wholly rap. SN: i will be patient with her on the vid, and if all the promo goes well i can almost see her score a #1 album this era. She just need first week sales in the 125-150 range. I will always support her coz musically, she surely brings it home.

    Love You Brandy!!!

  15. Del_Cappella July 25, 2012

Brandy I love you Dear…cant wait for the video and the next single…you said you were shooting for “Without You” so im dying to hear what that sounds like… and of course i will be buying your album and purchasing on itunes

  16. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) July 25, 2012

I hope her single and her album both slay 🙂 She released some classic records back in the late 90’s and early 00’s and I hope she can replicate the quality of those albums and maybe even their success to a certain extent.

For all of you that are complaining about the video, bare in mind that ‘Put It Down’ is just beginning to get playlisted on urban radio, so if they dropped the video now it would be a waste. The song needs to be a minor hit before the video is released. Don’t complain! Just be patient.

  17. Tasha July 25, 2012

Brandy and RayJ should do a song called One Wish!

  18. nickalus Randle July 25, 2012

BRandy is so amazing, this is her time, they need to stop playing & do this right!!!! I LOVE ME SOME BRANDY YES FATHER GOD!!!!

  19. Brandy Fan July 28, 2012

All you guys are saying release the video, but if she releases it now, it wont do any justice. Just look at Ne-Yo’s song “Lazy Love”. The video came out early and guess what? The song is lower on the charts than Put It Down. So be patient. Everything will come out in divine time!
