Watch: Brandy Puts It Down at Global Fusion Festival

‘I Wanna Be Down’ diva Brandy was spotted down at the 6th annual Global Fusion Festival hosted today in Philadelphia.  Joining a bill that saw her share the night’s stage with Elle Varner, Luke James, and more, the R&B vet showed the newcomers how to really put it down.

Lending a live rendition of her rising R&B stunner ‘Put It Down‘, see how B-Rocka rocked the crowd like no other below:

Brandy has been WERKING it in these performances lately. It’s like I’m watching a “new” Brandy. Get ’em girl!

    • kwame July 22, 2012

SHE IS ACTUALLY DOING IT FOR HER #STARZ RIGHT NOW. 🙂

      • Miles July 22, 2012

agrees, I met her this week and told her how much her starz are proud of her, she said her spirit has been renewed and is in this to win it for us and her…love this girl

  2. i’m not throwing shade, but… July 22, 2012

O live me some Brandy but am confused by the new all singing all dancing version, on inside the music she said (along with some other dude) that her dancing and being s*** in the afrodisiac video wasn’t her and that the fans couldn’t relate, so i’m interested to know why she or her team think that now is a better time, especially since she’s older?
Anyway, nice preformance but she’s gonna need Chris to start making P.A’s with her soon

    • Noel July 22, 2012

She doesn’t need that loser at all. Honestly, that song would be better without him.

    • truth July 22, 2012

      I like it both ways.

      • Westley July 22, 2012

I am not a Chris fan but the song sounds good with both of them on the track

    • kwame July 22, 2012

CHRIS DID NOTHING TO THE SONG AND HE NEED SOME MORE PR OF HIS OWN TOO.

  3. jeremydante July 22, 2012

her star power is demonstrated in the ease of her vocal performance. hope she gets back on the way she was supposed to with the last album.

  4. Honestly Speaking July 22, 2012

She did well given the song and what she had to work with although that isn’t anything new. Of course she is going to come on the stage and give it her 100% when this is the same chick that was reduced to singing in bathrooms and uploading the videos on Youtube to generate some buzz. I’m not saying that she is untalented but in my honest opinion she is going about this entire thing incorrectly, dancing is something that she should have been doing years ago but yet she’s acting as if she just discovered it yesterday. I feel that she would be much better off giving her fans and the public in general honest R&B music and let those who are interested in new material from her purchase it. She just looks desperate for a hit right now and it shows and being honest Brandy is never going to be at a Beyonce or Rihanna level type of popularity again (if she ever was to begin with) so really she should just release good music and accept her career for what it has become: a flop.

    • TruegeminiEROCK July 22, 2012

Umm sweety Brandy has danced SEVERAL times before just recently!!!!

      Look at:
      Talk about our love
      U don’t know me
      Afrodisiac
      What About Us
      Best Friend
      Baby

All videos she danced in and/ or had some form of choreographed routine…………..Just Sayin!

      • Honestly Speaking July 22, 2012

I also remember her stating during her VH1 special that during her entire “Aphrodisiac” era she felt uncomfortable dancing and trying to appeal to men by sexing up her image because it wasn’t believable and she felt that it was going to alienate her core fan-base. So really that makes her sudden love for choreography even more convoluted. I have no problem with her trying to get a hit on the radio but there is a certain thing called artistic integrity and this entire campaign has lacked a finesse and fluidity that is essential in these types of situations where a project is being labeled as someone’s comeback into the industry.

      • Tyrel July 25, 2012

There is a difference between being overly s*** and just dancing and having fun. During the Afrodisac era she was mainly focusing on being s*** even when it wasn’t needed. Like the song Afrodisac was a song about someone being perfect for another… in the video she was rolling around in water and forcing s*** and it comes off unbelievable.. Now with her saying that does not mean that she wont dance in a song or be s***! It means thats not the focus of the album and never will be again. Afrodisac was supposed to be a s*** album.. Even the Artwork in the book was her being s***! Yall are so quick to try and put someone down and have no idea what ur talkin about… Damn….

    • truth July 22, 2012

No b**** s** with u is a flop brandys career is right on track. Very good brandy. F*** da haters

    • kwame July 22, 2012

      • theman July 22, 2012

But the dancing she is doing here isn’t forced, it’s natural. She’s just grooving to the music. Doing a little dancing here and there is fine. Y’all act like she’ll be dancing on every song…

      • CVT July 24, 2012

        YES @ TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • trudi July 23, 2012

People grow and evolve on their own accord. She’s older & probably realized its time to just have fun, the last 5 – 7 years havent been picture perfect for her & her family. Also its almost 20 years since her debut & knows that dancing wont be as easy come another 20…. : ]

      • trudi July 23, 2012

  6. Back2Business July 22, 2012

Good; nothing spectacular; would be better performed with Chris but it was good. I need for Brandy to release a nice ballad with some tempo!! Maybe something written by Ne-yo i.e( Irreplaceable, Take A Bow, Stupid In Love) ?

  7. danny b July 22, 2012

You know, I’ve ever bought a Brandy album, but this might be the first time I do. IAs simple as that performance was, it was EVERYTHING. It kind of brought me to “I Wanna Be Down” and “Baby” days-Brandy. The vocals, the swag, charisma, crowd interaction, and especially the dancing, And I loved that she wore sneakers instead of trying to be sadity like most b****** wearing heels just for the sake of looking cute. I wasn;t crazy bout the song but everyday Ive grown into it and now I love it. I love it even more without our Wish Brown on it.

Anyways, roll on the video, and roll on Two Eleven !!

    • truth July 22, 2012

I really think this cd will bring her bk. She really grindn!

      • kwame July 22, 2012

  8. TruegeminiEROCK July 22, 2012

Brandy has always produced top notch R&B music with a twist…….

FULL MOON ———-> Pure Epicness (A masterpeice/ her best work)

    Afrodisiac ——–> R&B Excellence

Never Say Never—–> not my favorite, but this was a major landmark in her career; and her best selling album to date.

Human——> was a good album as well, people generally weren’t feeling the whole “I’m humble/Gratitude” vibe that it gave……but it had some really good material on it.

    • truth July 22, 2012

Full moon is my fav! I think she shuf title this cd Full Moon 2.0!

    • sebthedeb July 22, 2012

      Yaaaaaaaassssss…i COSIGN!!!!!

      • Westley July 22, 2012

Brandy has a beautiful inner soul. She don’t have to be half dress to do her thing on stage because her voice & stage performance speaks for itself. I loved the song when it first came out and download it from itunes. Saying this is that Put It Down did not have to grow on me.

      • kwame July 22, 2012

        🙂

  11. Criss July 22, 2012

  16. 2/11songscribe July 22, 2012

Slay!!! slay!!! slay!!! Brandy. Now drop the Vid. Bey loves herself some Brandy, Chris and Riri loves her Music and Vocals, they all have confessed b4. I love when artists acknowledge and support one another. Brandy has also commended the work of Bey, riri and chris. So i urge y’all to support all these artists and stop with the divisions, comparisons, stan wars and insanity that these bloggers perpertuate and live off of.

    • kwame July 22, 2012

YOUNG PEOPLE LIKE WILLOW SMITH????? DUMMY!!!!!1

  19. Bran Star July 22, 2012

Brandy, you look good, you sound great, and she did a really good job overall. She seemed to be enjoying herself having a good time up there. Who can be mad or hate on that? Brandy’s doing what she loves to do and it looked like the crowd received her very well. I’m happy for her and will always cheer her on!

    • kwame July 22, 2012

      🙂 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

    • kwame July 22, 2012

      YES 🙂

  22. 4EVERSHITTINGONYOU AKA KNUCK July 22, 2012

    BRANDY YOU BIT- !!!!!!! BECAUSE..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to give a FLAWLESS vocal perfomance completely different from the record?! Once people understand the vocal excellence that this woman displays!! Brandy is not just a studio artist, although she SLAYS the ENTIRE industry from the booth. Slaying LIVE vocals since 1994!!

    • kwame July 22, 2012

      CO-SIGN YOU 🙂

  23. truth teller July 22, 2012

Brandy has had some good songs, but to say she’s the VOCAL BIBLE is insane. Her studio voice is more processed than Chez-Whiz. It’s okay to be a studio singer like Britney, but I have never heard/seen a performance where Brandy sings remotely like the voice on her recordings she claims is hers.

    • kwame July 22, 2012

🙁 WONT EVEN WASTE MY BREATH EXPLAINING TO YOU DUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Kylie July 22, 2012

This – vocal bible – is going to be attached to her for life now thanks to Dawn. She better thank that girl with song writing credits. She know damn well Dawns itching to write for her.

  24. Quetta July 22, 2012

Wow, brandy has some amazing humble fans.

  25. Kylie July 22, 2012

Brandy and Kelly Rowland both need to go back and ask dude for an extended 28 day refund based on the fact that these tracks are not fit for purpose…….

  26. kevin July 22, 2012

    this shitis TOO beyonce.

i hope Brandy succeeds, but those background dancers and everything gives me too much Bey tease..

    *kanye shrug*

    • RealShyt July 22, 2012

Well that isnt saying much considering Beyonce rips off everyone else’s s***..she has jacked soo many people its ridiculous…Brandy has been doing this long before Bey so have a f****** seat

  27. asipofbrandy July 22, 2012

#praise his light !! Yaaaaassssss Rocka, October cant get here fast enough. I’m too hyped.

  28. DeL_Cappella July 22, 2012

    She did that! #EndofStory

  29. blazeblanco216 July 22, 2012

Brandy HAS DONE IT ALL WTF SHE DIDN’T DO??? YALL B****** NEED TO DO Y’ALL RESEARCH.. TV NUMBER 1 ALBUMS MOVIES IT’S TIME TO START PAYING HOMAGE REAL S***

  30. LJ July 22, 2012

THAT WAS CUTE. HOWEVER….I bet Ray j was like, “B you have to come out with this song first”…..Ray J has a Hood Chicken head side to him that doesnt appeal to Brandys brand or image. She is not that at all. Family can really make or break your career and sometimes….Not a big fan of the dancing, unless she becomes super comfortable with it, or it comes off akward. This all has to be marketed well, Pr needs to be on point and styling as well…it is a come back!!!

  31. LOURDES July 22, 2012

Brandy is HUNGRY! She tried to stick to her roots with her last two albums, and that got her nowhere (although they were both EXCELLENT albums!) I don’t blame her for taking the contemporary route. I’m sure that she will not alienate her primary fanbase. I know her album will be full of signature Brandy tracks. Let’s not hate the girl for wanting to get back into the game! I loved the performance and as always; her vocals were on point!!!!!!!!

  32. Joey Blanco July 22, 2012

BBBBBBaaad Bytch!!!!!!!!! Brandy is shitting and the people are going to have to deal with that. You can hate, you can critique small s*** and try to pick apart the performance, and try to bring up her past misfortunes, etc.but at the end of the day this and the other performances she has done this past week on her promo trail she has been murdering it and has proven that she is in it to win it and she deserves to win!!! we need to stop tearing our artist down and celebrate them while they are here….Brandy has been here putting in work..Amazing work!! and I am so excited for the future and as a fan I will continue to support my girl.

  33. Love July 23, 2012

This girl’s voice GOOD LORD!!! When she opens her mouth, it’s OVAH BYTCH! I can’t wait for the album!

  34. versHun July 23, 2012

    BrandY is a beast

  35. LoDiddy July 23, 2012
