To the mofo hateing on kelly ! You do realise that kellys career is failing to kick off is because she has never gotten proper promo for any of her work. If u compare the tiny promo here I am got and the impact it had on her brand. The best videos of her career came from that album, and we all know the role visuals play in promoting an artist especially an urban artist.. You want her to succeed ? Give her half of the promo Bey, Rih or even cici get & when she flops after that then & only then will i accept that she is a flop.

I wouldnt count ICE out copletely it a grower imo and it would be released to itunes on tuesday in the US and it was released in UK yesterday so lets wait and see how it goesm it is already progressing on radio play. Kelly seems to be more focused on having her fingers in many pies rather than being a serious artist. If she didn’t learn from how she handled “Motivation” and “Lay It On Me” with videos debuting AGES after the singles dropped then it’s clear she has no real drive or direction.
She’s determined to be a star, a brand NOT a successful artist/musician.
My comments about her artistry will be proven when this album drops. Either it’ll be full of shallow lyrics with B-side songs like “Here I Am” or, as she stated, Motown will be the primary inspiration and will have lyrics and music more similar to her classic first album or the more urban/contemporary Ms. Kelly. Both albums were great examples of their respective genres.

Kelly is a brilliant artist and Here I am defo was a brilliant album – However it always takes her and her label ages to release stuff. Before Motivation came out didnt she have a string of songs that she released and weren’t even included in the final tracklist of the album (forever in a day, rose coloured glasses, grown ass woman etc). Ice isnt a bad song, but they should have released the song and then a video relatively soon afterwards, then a second single, possibly a third and then release the new album. I’m still baffled why more singles weren’t released from Here I am, there was a lot of potential in my opinion. Im not sure what’s going to happen with this 4th album but we will just have to see the direction it takes….

Problem started from matthew knowles plus her bad promo, poor choice of materials/ gigs mix these with her huntry ass always trying to eat as many cookies at the same time that’s a perfect receipy for an ailling career. ICE is an okay song but truth be told this girl need to reinvent herself. Motivation owes it success to its video period cos ppl started paying attention to kelly cos 4 the 1st tym in her life she was seen as sexy, edgy and not giving the girl next door image. You cannot always call ‘lack of promo’ when someone doesn’t hit it big. Kelly Rowland was a member of the one of the biggest selling girl groups of all time, we know who she is, i just think the world has yet to grasp why she is important as solo artist. That being said, i just don’t think she found her winning formula yet. I think it is her/her teams choice in material. Motivation is a platinum selling single, i wonder why less than 10th of that bought her album during the first week….Could just be the the current state of r&b in the market. I’m a fan of kelly, so it would be nice to see her succeed more than she has already because she does have some great songs out there. “Every thought is you” “still in love with my ex” “unity” “stole” etc…. songs with a little more meaning.
