Hot Shots: Nelly Furtado Ups Her Diva For Esquire

Published: Sunday 26th Aug 2012 by Sam

Cop a gander of Nelly Furtado.

The ‘Big Hoops’ singer strikes many a fierce pose in the latest issue of UK magazine, Esquire. Needless to say, whoa Nelly. She looks hot tamale.

For her sake, her comeback album ‘The Spirit Indestructible’ needs to be just as blazing when it arrives on September 11th. Three singles in, the set is yet to spawn a hit. Yet, as time has shown, a hit album isn’t always preceded by hit singles.

Love Nelly, but it’s unrealistic to expect the new album to sell well…she has no radio support or media buzz….she should have done some features on songs of artists that are hitting right now to get her name back out there and then come back..still hope for the best though…

Nellys problem is shes trying to rehash the Loose era

    • theman August 27, 2012

Her newer songs sound nothing like her “Loose” singles.

Her last album LOOSE was amazing. My favorite was ALL GOOD THINGS (COME TO AN END),listening 2 it til this day…tbh,it will almost be impossible to match the sales of loose with this new album.she needs to come stronger than she is currently,do more appearances, release stronger singles, better promotion overall & just maybe things could turn 4 the better.

Loose was such a perfect & solid album. I loved every song minus two. Things would turn if she did promotion, got her name out there more, & worked with some big artist on her tracks. I still have faith, but I doubt this era will turn around the way I want it too.

Not even a photoshoot with esquire magazine can save this mess of an era…

TSK TSK Nelly girl your career is deader than Rihanna’s weave and that’s saying something.

They should have released the live version of “Parking Lot” to radio. The thing is she took way too long to come out with an english album. She should have just released a safe pop friendly radio single. “Big Hoops” is great though. But she needs a major hit she’s been gone for a while…

I love Nelly and I’m definitely going to buy her new album in September. It’s going to be amazing. I’m grateful that she didn’t do electropop to sell. She’s focused on her artistry and I respect that.

I just hope the label pushed ‘Parkin Lot’ more. She hasn’t done any promo since June! They could book her a VMA’s perofrmance or a set at the iHeart radio concert. Promo can really help.

6 years is just toooooo long for a hiatus and by the time one comes back, almost everything in the industry has changed…Its only SADE & GARTH BROOKS who can go away for that long and still come back strong, coz their style is basically UNIQUE.Nelly should have come back in 2009 b4 TEENAGE DREAM (a mediocre and cheap version of loose) was released, the same applies to her friend Justin Timberlake
*sidenote*how come bieber’s song BOYFRIEND sounds like a horribly done version of timberlake’s LIKE I LOVE YOU?
