John Legend Announces New Album Title & Tour; Previews New Song

Published: Monday 13th Aug 2012 by Sam

Christmas has come all sorts of early for John Legend fans.

The Soulful crooner hasn’t released a traditional album since 2008’s ‘Evolver’ and hasn’t released a well-received LP since ‘Once Again’ in 2006. Still, for many, his debut ‘Get Lifted’ serves as his definitive “best” effort yet.

Hence, perhaps realizing this (and the fact that time and the industry wait for no one), Legend has enlisted the team responsible for ‘Lifted’ to craft his 4th studio album – the title of which he revealed today.

Details after the jump…

In a video announcement for his North American tour (dates available here), the 33 year old confirmed that the LP is titled…

‘Love In The Future’

‘Get Lifted’ producers Dave Tozer and Kanye West re-join Legend as executives on the set, which will feature ‘Caught Up’ – a Hit Boy produced cut the singer previewed in the clip. Check it out below…

Jury’s out on the song above, but we’re glad to see John back in the saddle. With Trey Songz stuck on sex and Usher and co “trying new things”, male R&B needs John – even if the masses don’t know it. Here’s hoping he delivers the good-good to remind them. *Hits ‘PLAY’ on the still-epic ‘Used To Love You’*

No one ACTUALLY buys his music, right? I find it ridiculous that a man gave himself the last name “Legend”…HILARIOUS. Legend in your own mind, boo boo!

Right! and on a personal note, he reminds me of an ex… a completely pretentious and inauthentic (yet charming) person that is skilled but not truly talented. i just dont really see the art in him. its so glossy. where’s the grit. at this point i cant believe kanye is still eff-ing with him. let that n**** go. ain’t it supposed to be “good” music?

    THUMBALINA Fiction!

Evolver debuted at number 4 on the U.S. Billboard 200 sold 132,823 copies in it;s 1st week of sells. Since the album’s release, it has sold 617,528 copies in the U.S. and has been certified Gold by the RIAA.

So where was EVERYONE TO SLAM Thumbalina Fiction’s 1st week sells? Surely ppl should be calling this LITTLE MAN a FLOP….FLOPegend etc. 🙂

Gotta say i agree, wasnt really feeling that preview, sometimes i think what are these music experts hearing when they write and record some of this material. Legends problem is that he started so high, its hard to keep producing music of the first album and even some of the second albums quality.
