Justin Timberlake Readies ‘Crazy’ New Album

Believe it or not, it has been six years since the release of Justin Timberlake‘s last album ‘Future Love Sex Sounds‘.

Enjoying a musical hiatus which saw him pursue some of his more dramatic passions instead, the consummate performer  has rather unfortunately had to watch his one time rival Beyonce go onto enjoy ‘budding icon’ status , and his Pop Prince crown strategically snatched by a certain Justin Bieber.

Now, the ‘Black Snake Moan’ star is readying his return to his music with a ‘crazy’ new album.

Details below…

In an exclusive interview with our friends over at Digital Spy, ‘Gimme More‘ producer Jim Beanz explained:

When I get back to the States I’m going to be helping out on Shock Value 3 with Timbaland and the Justin Timberlake project.

It’s still in the early stages, but they have a lot of tracks. While I’ve been over here in the UK they’ve been working, so by the time I get back they’ll have a whole load of ideas and I’m going to have to catch up!

He has some crazy, crazy stuff.”

When asked if Justin was under pressure to outdo the aforementioned ‘SexSounds’, Beanz added:

“There are certain artists who live in the moment and the reason why FutureSex/LoveSounds was so amazing is because he didn’t try to top Justified.

There are certain artists who can get inside with great charisma and energy and make great music every time. So it’s not really about topping the last record, it’s more about topping music that comes on the radio.

Everything is so similar that it’s about topping that and doing something different, and that’s what they are going for. He’s going to kill it.”

Sam’s 2 Pence:

Exciting! Not so much because Timberlake himself rouses us much; afterall ‘Justified’ was more a product of the producers and is an admitted set of songs intended for Michael Jackson. ‘FutureSex’, on the other-hand, was overrated – in our my so humble opinion.
Yet primarily from a competition standpoint, it’ll be uber intriguing to see how Justin fits into a musical landscape that has moved on so much since his last chart assault. Indeed while he was away making major bank acting, another Justin (see: Bieber) made an epic impact, while a host of others have slid into what was his “lane” (see: Chris Brown).
Will Mr Rip & Run be able to reclaim his spot?

    I beg you JT…

    ********** PLEASE…DON’T…DO….DANCE/POP **********

You fought hard for your urban credibility after Nsync, don’t let the likes of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, LMFAO, etc., etc. corrupt you into following in that direction the way Chris, Usher and NeYo have.

It’s sad that I’m hoping that a white guy can rep for R&B and Soul music, but I am.

    • CzarM August 7, 2012

What’s sadder is that Justin has a better chance of being Contemporary R&B’s Captain-Save-a-Ho from a commercial perspective than any of his (black) contemporaries and counterparts. HE could probably team up with Rick Ross for his own “Lemme See” and have it go at the very least top 5 on the Hot 100.

Music is becoming as segregated as it was in the 1950s. Usher (Chuck Berry) can’t have crack the top 40 charts with an R&B song, but Justin (Elvis) most likely could.

      • dham August 7, 2012

        @CzarM Sadly, you’re right.

      • RICHANDBLACK11(UNLIKE RIHANNA, BUT RICH LIKE BEYONCE 300+MM) August 7, 2012

        sad but so true

      • mobbin per usual August 7, 2012

PREACH!! I try and tell them….

Let’s be honest it was Chuck Berry that birthed Elvis Presley. Elvis was elevated to counter the success of Chuck Berry!

      • Legendtina August 7, 2012

Thats because Ushers new music is sub-par and basic, two words that arent in Justin’s vocab.

      • LDC August 7, 2012

        It’s iTunes.

Before 2007, Britney consistently flopped on the Hot 100. Even though she always did pretty well on the single sales chart, radio wouldn’t play her and back then sales didn’t dictate or override airplay. Today “Toxic” would zoom to #1 but in ’04 she was lucky to barely scratch the top 10 with it.

If Chris had recorded the Bieber’s “Boyfriend,” he would have been lucky to go top 40 with it. If JT releases an R&B-heavy album like Bey’s 4, it would sell at least 500k more and probably spin off at least 2 top 10 hits. Had he recorded “Best Thing I Never Had,” “Love on Top” and “Party,” they all would have charted higher.

Once the industry made it so the bias public could dictate the music scene with iTunes, we were reminded of some ugly truths. White folks flock to white entertainers and will support them even if they’re doing what black entertainers do. The only way black artists can tread water is if they’re willing to conform to the white publics most GENERAL tastes…the way Usher did.

This wasn’t so obvious back when airplay dictated the charts. That’s why I advocate airplay over sales. Today the Hot 100 is too easily held hostage by rabid fan bases who have nothing else better to do than to stalk iTunes waiting for the release of a new single. Songs are now racing to #1 before the general public even hears them because of it.

    • mobbin per usual August 7, 2012

Trick have a seat. Chris Brown’s music has been the same blend since his CD GRAFITTI! Stop acting like Chris Brown has all of a sudden transformed his sound like Usher, Ne-Yo, Flo Rida, Taylor Swift (pop-country blend) etc have recently done!

You don’t have to HOPE a WHITE GUY like the WHITE GIRLS Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse (RIP), Adele etc have done, will be your SAVIOR as always. don’t worry! The POWERS THAT BE will make sure your dollars are invested where they dictate.

    • angela August 7, 2012

It is sad in deed. Especially considering it was actually the Neptunes and Timbaland that gave him that success and “credibility”. He didn’t work hard for (NSYNC, by the way, was always more urban than the other boybands from the very beginning). Both of whom are no longer “in”. All of his production work w/o the help of other producers have flopped badly.

  9. aishaaguilerakeys August 7, 2012

Sam, get your head out of BEYONCE’s ass. JT and B NEVER were and WILL NEVER be rivals. JT and JB are two different artists. Now that that’s said and done, I’m looking forward to JT’s album. Whether he is able to achieve a comeback or not all depends on whether he’ll play his cards right.

    • virtuoso intellect August 7, 2012

they were chart rivals during the FlSS/ Bday eras though. I remember both of them dominating the 2007 VMAs. Justin beat Bey for the quadruple threat of the year while Bey won earth-shattering collaboration for beautiful liar with Shakira.Their voices meshed so beautifully on until the end of time remix …. Damn i loved those eras lol

      • Realist : Navy-Nazi August 7, 2012

        “earth shattering” *look side-ways*

  10. RoyalKev August 7, 2012

Beyonce was Justin’s rival??? … When that happen?

There are many reasons why Justin Timberlake will always be able to make a comeback! I’m glad one of them happen to be that he has talent. I do hear a few artists with his sound winning and I’m sure Justin knows how to do Justin Timberlake better than anyone. I definitely will be all ears when he drop a new album.

    yaaaAAAAAAAAWWWWWNNNNNN chile!!!!!!!!

  17. Vandrea August 7, 2012

It’s funny how I’m looking forward to the returns of several artists, who a decade ago I either don’t care for, or damn near hated.

I never liked Brandy…I never liked Mariah…I never liked Keyshia…I never liked Justin…I never liked 50 Cent…I never liked Kelly…and, truthfully, I was never that crazy about Alicia.

But music has become so ghastly with over the last 3-4 years with all this aerobics dance crap that I’m now looking forward to their returns, because at least they’re familiar and traditionally don’t have a music style that turns totally clashes with mine – even if I never cared for them personally.

I’m hoping like crazy to see at least one of them come out with a song that not only snubs the formula of “Call Me Maybe,” but also kicks it in the teeth.

  18. E August 7, 2012

Oh please let this be true! Ive been dying for a new jt record!

  19. RICHANDBLACK11(UNLIKE RIHANNA, BUT RICH LIKE BEYONCE 300+MM) August 7, 2012

sam you are reaching saying JT and King Beyonce were rivals

  20. Nick August 7, 2012

I can’t wait for this project all his solo albums to me are classics
I can’t wait to hear some good music and the one thing about JT is that he is not a PRODUCT he is a Musician!
and like everyone else is saying I to is hoping he doesn’t take the Dance music route and continues to give us those R&B songs.
I don’t understand why artists like Usher, Chris Brown and Especially Ne-Yo have to make those type of songs to sell to the General
    it’s starting to get annoying!
    BRING BACK REAL MUSIC JT!

  21. Speechless August 7, 2012

Sam get your head out of Beyonce’s a***!!!! They were NEVER rivals and what kinda of threat does justin beiber serve??? Timberlake can actually SING and DANCE. FutureSex/LoveSounds was NOT overrated and it is indeed a classic. His 2 solo albums sold like 15 million so how in the HELL are you going to tell us about Justin F****** Timberlake?! Sit the f*** down you queen!!!

  22. Ben August 7, 2012

finally he will be doing music again. please stop making films primary, do what you are best at!

  23. Nick August 7, 2012

I gotta admit I do love both of Justin’s albums, so I am happy to hear this & can’t wait to see what he serves up…now him & Beyonce being rivals, ummm, they r like reallly coool, so IDK where that came from….

  24. kelly August 7, 2012

Come on JT, bring back real RNB POP.

    • angela August 7, 2012

How is he going to bring “real R&B” when he’s never made a ‘real’ R&B song himself?

  25. XoMoDe August 7, 2012

Don’t get too excited. Another one from Justin’s era just came back out after a long hiatus. Nelly Furtado. Just like FS/LS, her album Loose had hit after hit and she (along w/Fergie) was the IT-girl of 2005-2007. Fast forward to today, to say her new music ain’t setting the charts on fire is an understatement.

  26. KD August 7, 2012

Your rabid insistence on comparing anyone and everyone to Beyonce is quite irritating, your musical horizon cant be that narrow.

I LOVED FutureSex so I’ll be waiting with bated breath for his new music.

  27. Queen Brit Brit August 7, 2012

DEATH! Justin Bieber NEVER had the crown of Prince of Pop. JT’s albums sold more copies in the U.S than Bieber’s do world wide. Plus the win Grammys and have critical acclaim. It is and always will belong to JT. Bieber and Fist Clown can have a seat next to Taio Cruz and Jason DerulNO. Timberlake will show those lessors how its done.

  28. justsomekid August 7, 2012

I’m sorry did you just call JT’s last album overrated?!
Your taste in music is repulsive Sam.

  29. mobbin per usual August 7, 2012

I totally agree with @CzarM and let me add:

Chuck Berry’s REPLACEMENT = Elvis Presley
New Edition’s RELACEMENT = New Kids On The Block
Usher Raymond’s RELACEMENT = Justine TimberFAKE
Chris Brown’s REPLACEMENT = Justin Babble
    Beyonce Knowles’ REPLACEMENT = Adele
The entire Rap game’s REPLACEMENT = F-Eminem (the king of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE yet loved by Amerika *George Bush voice*)

And as I said about “pAnk”, watch in “horror” as Justine TimberFAKE becomes the new “FACE OF……” or the new “SPOKES PERSON FOR……”! <– It's the same old trick warmed over and served up, like last night's dinner! ijs 🙂

Also, expect the media to compare him repeatedly to MICHAEL JACKSON and speak ill of Chris Brown and perhaps Usher Raymond in support of TimberFAKES return & rise to prominence within the music industry!!

    • Queen Brit Brit August 7, 2012

How is JT a replacement of Usher? How is fat ass doesnt-do-anything-on-stage-but-stand-and-sing Adele a replacement for stomp-around-stage-whipping-her-dusty-weave-and-shaking-her-ass Beyonce? Beyonce never sang soul music like Adele. Gurl bye. And Usher slayed every male act out there including Justin until recently. Your just made because your precious Fist Clown is JT’s lessor.

    • That B*tch (would you like a rihfund with that)? August 7, 2012

Oooh yes i agree with this right here. I jike Justin but watch the white media eat this up just like they did with Adeles sad depressing music. Just because she’s a white woman she’s automatically considered a game changer just like that closet case Eminem who constantly talks about hating women yet he is seen as the king of rap.
      Disgusting.

    • Benron (In Rihanna’s panties) August 7, 2012

Don’t Forget Rita attempting to replace Rihanna. Jay saw he couldnt replace her with a black girl (Rita)so he is trying a white one on for size.

      • That B*tch (would you like a rihfund with that)? August 7, 2012

Honestly Jay Z has always been colored struck. That is why he signed Rih (no disrespect), because she’s a yellow skinned black girl with hazel eyes. He even said he didnt sign her because of her talent but because of her star potential…in other words her marketability which is where her light skin comes in handy.

      • BEYFLOP EXIT STAGE LEFT!! AND TAKE YOUR 2 CAMELS WIT CHA!! August 7, 2012

    bieber who ?

  31. truth tea August 7, 2012

he actually writes a fair amount of his own music, can sing and dance. these 3 things do not apply to many of his male contemporaries

    • JohnVidal(RIP Whitney-truegreat) August 7, 2012

“can sing” is questionable. But yes for the rest

  32. Legendtina August 7, 2012

Sam please. Justin will slay as usual. Everyone in the pop and urban world have been waiting for his return. He has cross over appeal that many Urban/Pop acts lack. Another words he can appeal to blacks and whites. He knows how to make music that everyone listens to and does it with quality. Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, and that clone Mike Posner are no competition for JT

  33. danny b August 7, 2012

Sams 2 Pence is so f****** irrelevant. We’ ve been missing you Justin for soooooooooooooooooo damn long !!!! I was starting to get really upset with you because I thought you were just done with music the same way yall just thru away NSYNC… but im soooo excited. God only knows what crazy and out of this world music JT will be prepping in this forsaken industry of 2012.

  34. john August 7, 2012

its about time. home boy can dance and hes one helluva songwriter. now he can show chris and justin beiber how it really done

  35. TeamBreezy August 7, 2012

JT and Bey were rivals?…oh and if Bey is a budding icon then mr Timberlake is right there next to her

    • RG2 August 7, 2012

O_0 I don’t ever recall them being rivals, especially when they collaborated and performed together. As a matter of fact I don’t recall neither one of them being rivals towards anyone. For it to be a rivalry both parties must be involved.

  36. ahahahha August 7, 2012

f*** i love him soooo much i really cant wait

  37. RG2 August 7, 2012

Well it’s about time, we’ve been six years. I don’t really listen to alot R&B/Pop but Future S**/Love Sounds was the s*** back in 06′ and 07′; Every track was on point.

  38. MissImpartial August 7, 2012

I want to see whether Justin can be successful without Timbaland on the album.

  39. S****** Blonde August 7, 2012

Back off b******, he’s mine…Love of my life, i love you, you know you’re everything, can’t with this news, i’m literally on the floor, okay, I have to keep my composure.

Sam don’t even try with Justin, FutureSex/LoveSounds overrated, that album is classic, one of the best album if the past 10 years, every f*****’ song is brilliant, the melodies, the beats, lyrics, all was magical perfect and in what world that horrible kid snatched his Pop Prince crown, no wonder why this generation is so f***** up with the so new Queen and King of Pop, Gaga and Bieber, you will see all the attention he receive when the man bring sexyback and why you attack Justin for being a Michael wannabe but praised Gaga while being an imitator of Madonna, i don’t get it, every Pop/R&B male singer is influence by Michael Jackson, Usher, Breezy and Justin is not the exception and for God sake can’t you make a post without mention Beyonce, you are obsessed with that woman, anyway Justin is very talented and an excellent dancer better than those who try to much like Breezy, he pretends to much, He has become unbearable to see him dance, Justin dance comes natural, his flow is sick.

  40. MsThing485 August 7, 2012

LOL@Sam labeling Justin and Beyonce as “rivals.” You just HAD to try and come up with a way to interject her name into this piece — no matter how skewed, and basically wrong — to instigate chatter.

If anyone was JT’s “rival,” it was Usher. Not Beyonce. Hell, he and Beyonce dueted on his remix of “Until the End of Time.” Rivals tend to have a more adversarial relationship, and thus don’t usually work together.

Do better, Sam. That was a fail.

  41. I’m not throwing shade, but… August 7, 2012

Justin Timerlake is overrated, to me personally he doesn’t have the smoothness, soulfulness, depth and personality in his voice as Robin Thicke. The reason Justin is mentioned in the same breath as Justin (Bieber) and Connor Maynard screams volumes. The great singers people aspire to and no-one is mentioned in the same breath. No amount of musical hiatus would’ve changed that for Justin

    • angela August 7, 2012

Exactly. I laugh when people gush about Justin having “soul” when he doesn’t. His falsetto is whiny and forced most of the time. Only white people who don’t know better, gullible black folks and thirsty black girls think he does.

  42. Ej August 7, 2012

Sam is a Jackson (Janet) stan. And like most Janet stans, he too remains bitter because her career died after the wardrobe malfunction, while his continued to flourish. My guess is that that’s what prompted his silly and unnecessary shade at JT’s two albums…both of which were better than anything Ms. Jackson released this century. Sam is basically like 90% of the clowns who post comments here: a bitter, insecure, immature stan, who is threatened by his favorites “rivals”, and has to be catty to feel better.

    • S****** Blonde August 7, 2012

LMAO!…Janet need to know that she’s not Madonna, who don’t give a f*** about what people say.

The different between Janet and Madonna is that while Janet shows her nipple and was an incident, Madonna showed her nipple because she want it, hypocrite vs a proud b****.

  43. Mary Mary Why You Buggin’ August 7, 2012

“So it’s not really about topping the last record, it’s more about topping music that comes on the radio. ” Meaning, the music on the radio is terrible.

Now THIS I can get behind. The quicker the death of this bad representation of dance music (b/c GOOD dance music actually exists) happens the better.

I enjoyed both of Justin’s albums so I’m interested in hearing his new stuff.

  44. Gilberto August 7, 2012

YES!!! He’s going to dominate the charts again.

  45. soulmusiclover August 7, 2012

i love me some justin timberlake!!! i missed him!

  46. Jer August 7, 2012

OH HELL YESSSSsSSSSS!!!!!!! JUSTIN GIVE ME LIFE. I want club smashes take me to the club baby!!!!!! Then you better lay that hot bedroom track in me!!!!!!!! Miss Justin YOU BETTAAA GO INNNNNN

  47. Tbozfan10 August 7, 2012

This must be his fan club on this site judging by these comments. And why is anyone arguing over a “prince of pop” title? That’s dumb. The difference between being a “prince” or “princess” and being THE “king” or “queen” is that there CAN be more than one prince of pop. Whereas there can only be one “king” (MJ).

And I think his sales will be pretty good but are also going to be somewhat disappointing. The guy hasn’t made an album in forever.

  48. random August 7, 2012

i miss the dayz wen radio, mtv, charts were dominated by Queen B and King JT! They were never rivals, they have worked together over 5 timez! (with and without nsync/destinys child) but they always made QUALITY MUSIC that was TIMELESS, FUN, ARTISTIC, FRESH, AND POPULAR! now the billboard hot 100 and top 40 radio is dominated by lessers like carly rae jepshit, rih-w****, justin peeber, and cockty perry!! I MISS 2002-2007!!!
