Ur right about TRIFLOPANT (4GET’HER) this song is not good at all. DOn’t get me wrong, I’m a hufe mariah fan, but this song sucks, but I still can’t wait for the album. TEOM was a once in a lifetime kind of thing. She always trying to release an album that’s going to rival TEOM but it’s not working. She needs to let that album be and try to produce an album that’s different from that. Even the COVER of Triumphant is like TEOM!!! Come on Mariah, you can do better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As much as I love Mariah Carey… this single needs to stay a buzz single… The beat is amazing and the lyrics are strong but it feels more of her being featured on Rick Ross and Meek Mill track then the other way around… The song is still better than anything these “singers” out now put out

she thinks she doesn’t have to promote because she’s mariah, but she forgets she not the young singer she was in the 90s, she’s 43 and the older she gets the more people are going to go and find another artist. Even tho no singer can compare to her, you still have GREAT artists out there and whether the lambys like it or not she’s either gonna hit or miss…simple as that!
Yes….exactly….but as you know Mariah Scary heart felt over the top fans are going to suck the giga bytes out of this song just because it’s MOO MOO! This shit is wack & she needs to stop writing her own songs because she sucks as a song writer.
If you girls don’t like it why take time out of you ol so busy day to comment on something you don’t like. I mean, especially if you’re not a fan to begin with? Yes, we her fans like the song because we can relate and if you don’t oh well, then I suggest you go to your favorites and listing to their music then! Simple A** people I tell ya!
i agree and I’m disappointed i’ve listened to this 3 times and it already sounds dated.
I love me some Mariah but this will not do or quench the wait. Imma pretend i never heard this
I like it but hopefully it’s just a buzz single with another single coming in a few months to coincide with the album coming out closer to the Idol premiere date. I like the song but it needs less rappers. Rick Ross is great but Meek Mill was a little overkill and it almost felt like their song. I liked it though.
I loved it! It probably won’t slay in the charts what with songs like “Call me maybe” being #1 and all, but nonetheless i am really excited and really happy with this product!
I love mariah, but is it me or,does it sound like shes an feature…she couldve left rick ross or meek off…i wanted more mariah, but for what its worth, the chorus was good.i expected more.
Yes it does sound like she’s a feature cause the song is actually a featuring.
She recorded totally re-sung remixes of the song, maybe they’ll please your expectations.
It’s like it’s a Rick Ross song ft Meek Mill & she just singing the bridge & hook. I like it though but I wish it were more than what I expected from the octave queen! I’m still here for her new music tho!
I love it….Its up to par with who’s hot “Rick and Meek”….But it does sound like she is just a feature on the song….She definitely needed more verses and singing, instead of just hooks and chorus….But i love it….Meek could have been left out!…Welcome back MC
Regardless if its for the URBAN RADIO, I still was expecting her to sing some more….Once again its like she is a feature. There are lots of urban songs and singles out and the artist is signing more and letting their features e just that “a feature” not to over power or over shadow the main artist. This song is still hot, but I stand my ground, I needed more of mariah in the sound
This is the type of music that the young kids are buying these days.. Stop asking her to release “hero part 2″ when the state of popular music is not trying to really hear that now. This is a cool 1st single that will appeal to the younger Drake, Nicki, Wayne, Ricky type crowd and of course she will have her core fan base and then next will come a deeper song.. She’s the biggest selling female of all time yall givin her advice like she doesnt know wtf she is doin. And Mariah has done singles like this before where she was more of the guest feature, for example “Don’t Stop” feat Mystikal… Go MC
Mariah is so much better than this, she needs to be a leader not a follower. And she may have done singles like this, but as album fillers not singles. I hope this is not reflective of the album….
It sounds GREAT! Her vocals are great too. With her touch of overproduction that I love
The thing is we now know for sure this is a buzz single since the two rappers do the two verses. It just gets you interested and the most important thing…waiting for MORE. Promising album
You know this because you can virtually know what someone is thinking and you are a gifted individual who can read someone’s mind through the internet. Wow! you are a really talented individual, maybe you should use your gift and be part of and intelligence surveillance group and save the world (sarcasm).
i absolutely love mimi, but this ain’t it! It sounds like a left over from E=MC^2 OR THE EMANCIPATION OF Mimi,it’s not the new and fresh sound i was hoping for! I’m not saying she was supposed to go the generic “model-trynna be singer” route and release a techno song, but she coulda released a fresh sounding R’n'B song that didnt sound like the same old mariah! But i commend her for staying true to r’n'b!
Actually, i love the rythm, intelligent lyrics and her voice. the only disappointment is that it has too much rap parties. but generally, love the song.
People Meek Mills is a new upcoming artist. Of course they’re going to stick him on a Mariah song to get him out there more. I haven’t listened to the song yet but to each his own.
Where is the voice?… This track would have been hotter with Rihanna singing the hook and chorus (which is all Mariah did… She -was- a featured artist LOL).
Mariah songs are special because no one else could have sung her part… this is just generic hip-hop track with a generic female singing the hook….
I would slit tires for Mariah, but it felt like most of the other fans. It feels like its Rick Ross Meek mill featuring Mariah. Nevertheless, her voice sounds very rich and rested. Hopefully this isn’t the official single. But, also we must remember lots of vocals on the radio is not what is selling. So this could be a sort of experiment from Camp Mariah. Regardless, I’ll look forward to hearing more tracks. #mcforever
I no it’s not!! Just say it’s a disappointment to you because I am a true mariah fan and I love it. One who actually buy the albums here! The diffrence is I don’t hold her in a box and expect her to sing at the top of her lungs on ever song. She has a whole album to give me those type of song on it! That’s why I don’t get into Jennifer Hudson, just because you have that powerful voice doesn’t mean you have to go for power ballads on every song!
This sounds somewhat dated. I don’t know if its the Jermaine Dupri track that’s making me feel like this or what. I have a hard time believing that this is her lead single. Its not catchy enough for radio. Maybe this isn’t the final version because she definitely sounds like she’s just a featured artist.
she just stated on a conference call that she isn’t aiming for the pop radio, her intention is not to crossover; she wants to revive Hip-Hop/R&B music without having to crossover to the mainstream formats.
Well she can’t single handedly revive urban formats with this single. She needs another We Belong Together to do this. This probably won’t even be embraced by urban radio.
THE SONG IS A HIT FROM THE START!! THE LYRICS ARE INSPIRATIONAL! this is what i need then always that are about sex and party. Mariah you came back HARD!!
It’s not up to par. Lead singles are supposed to make a statement and kick off the era with a bang and, even though it’s far from a bad song, it just falls short. If it was just her with no features, if the beat was replaced by a beautiful piano-led instrumental and if she had written some lyrically powerful verses, it would have been great, but from what I can hear, I think it’s average. She can do MUCH better than this.
On a conference call she just stated that her intention is not to crossover; she wants to revive Hip-Hop/R&B music without having to crossover to the mainstream formats.
But even so…this was a weak performance even for the Urban and Urban AC radio formats. She can still deliver great music while targeting those key demos
Revive Hip-Hop/R&B music? That’s a pretty lofty goal for such a dull single. This is Mariah’s worst to date. It will not perform on Hip-Hop/R&B radio, let alone revive it.
What? Since when has that ever been her goal. Her greatest success has been a a Pop artists that was classified as R&B. If she wants he music to strickly service the R&B community, hey I’m cool with that but it’s surprising if she did indeed say that.
I like the song and the lyrics but it sounds like MMG song with Mariah Carey featured, the rappers shouldn’t have been put right after one another. I also feel like the feature is kinda wrong, I like Rick Ross but instead of Meek Mill I would’ve preferred Wale or Andre 3000.
take off the rappers and this would be a no.1 im not feeling how she is a featured artist on her own record, this is the kind of mistake that was made on Janet Jacksons single Call On Me where we heard more Nelly than Janet, fans get dissapointed cos they wait all that time to here from there favourite artist only to have other artist over dominate there tracks! the rapping id fucking annoying, Mariah would have slayed those verses
As i say before, it’s generic R&B, the same R&B she is doing since 2005, it doesn’t sound like her, this song is better, prove that five-octave range is not essential.
16k is a flop even for a greatest hits album. Xtina’s sold 73k it’s first week. Britney’s sold 225k it’s first week. Even Pink’s did better. J.Lo is a flop
it’s great but this is not single material, i hope it’s just a promotional song. However i’m looking forward to the album cause the melody and her voice are hot. She’s back !
I definately didnt like it from the teaser.. BUT I like it a lot more in full. Never jusge a book by its cover n all. True that she should be more involved but I do think it is a good track and Mariah is on it enough to not feel like a feature. Just listen don’t add up verses n that. Not sure how it will perform. Back in the day the emotion and meaning behind this song would be so appreciated and loved. Now it’s wont help and i feel people will see it as boring. It’s nothing groundbreaking and amazing but compared to her recent stuff it’s great and i wish her the best and success
its an overall great song song atleast the rappers are actually descent its atleast its not lil wayne or kanye in it because everybody has them in their songs its different for her i cant wait for the remixes she re-did for the song i love how she always does that! and the album!!
Maybe it has to grow on me. For now it’s not a no or yes. But a whatever. But I love MC. Hope to hear something else from her. I almost went to sleep on this song.
It’s not great but it’s not terrible either. I would prefer more Mariah and less rapping. Cut Officer Ricky out completely. Good for a buzz single. I want a power ballad as the first single with her range at full display. I dont care if it doesnt appeal to radio and younger audience

I’m looking forward to her Official First Single, and I hope the single is fast and she shows her STRONG VOCALS on it. I need another Fantasy. Or if she want to do a Ballad, then she needs to give me Always Be My Baby teas.
Why are you guys so worried about chart positions? Who cares, at least she didn’t abandon her RnB fanbase just to get a #1 hit like many others have done. If she releasd a dance/pop song everybody and there momma would’ve had a heart attack. Everybody is quick to say RnB is dying and that someone needs to bring it back but when somebody releases an RnB track you guys are still complaining.
#ICant
+1000.
this is the matter. Everybody speaks about chart positions, who reign, who flop. But they forget essential, the quality of the music. And chart succes is not synonymous of quality, especially nowadays
the vocal layering is awful. Is this even her song? She seems like a feature on her own lead single. This is FUCKING retarded. This is some straight Charmbracelet bullshit. Who let her release this as her lead single. I’M PRAYING it’s a “street” single and she will release a real pop single soon.
I doubt at this point Mariah is worried about getting a number 1 or selling records… so before all the Mariah shade starts lets keep in mind that Mariah has 200 Million sold and doesnt need to make or sell another record ever in life and still NONE of your FAVS could play catch up. AND IN THAT ORDER!
I’m SO disappointed. I love Mariah. But I just can’t get into this song. Meek Mill & Ross are pretty annoying to me, I’m impatiently waiting to hear Mariah’s voice! And like everyone else said, she barely appears on her LEAD single. The beat would be okay, maybe Mariah could’ve saved the song, if she had done it all by herself?
I still love her.
It is something different to the actual music. Sound its great and her vocaly s so perfectly. But has got too much hip hop its true.
Lyrics are stronger its a potencial single
i’m a die hard fan of MC since i’m like 7 years old, but this song is probably among the few ones i don’t like by her!! can’t wait till i hear the rest of the album
I have been a fan of Mariah’s for most of my life, but I haven’t been moved by her music in years. I consider The Emancipation of Mimi her last great album. I thought it would be the jolt needed to restart her pop and R&B domination, but everything since has been disappointing. E=MC2 was a let-down, and each successive release seems to get worse. This is by far my least favorite single she has ever released, and I was tempted to turn it off before it was finished. Mariah needs to focus on American Idol, where the skills that made her one of music’s brightest stars can be put to good use. I am happy she is moving away from the recording studio, because she is capable of so much more than she is releasing.
This song is not going to be on pop radio, mark my words. It’s AWFUL. Pop is in a dance phase now and this song sounds like 2003 garbage. Mariah is a better artist than this and she sounds like a featured guest. What happened to the girl with the best pipes on the planet? Mariah just beat Madonna as a great female legend who released a horrible lead single this year.
Fuck pop’s “dance phase”. It’s about time that artists started rebelling against that crap, and the more that do, hopefully the sooner we’ll be past all that gay ass aerobics music.
NICE SONG nice message but since WHEN did we start having featuring artist do the verses do just the chorus & Bridge?? Good blend of R&B & Hip hop nonetheless.
I like It! It’s great…and I love how she left place for rappers and not only for herself like No.1 ,best.blah blah diva…it’s a bit surprising and i like it.
QUESTION: What is soooo wrong about the fact that she sounds like a feature??? She is the QUEEN and can pretty much do what she wants. I actually think it’s very different and new and of course WE ALL should look at this as a teaser because the album is sure to be filled with many other tracks; many being solo. I am excited just to hear the return of THE VOICE!!!! But of course, I’m the type of person who knows how to judge what is presented to me rather than what I thought it should have been! Rick & Meek sound great on this beat and Mariah is uplifting every time she sings…Rather it does good on the charts or not….Welcome Back MiMi
OAN: Posting negative comments on posts are not only your opinion, but a form of “hating” Learn from me <<a NON-HATER…..if I don't like something, I just go to the next. Why be miserable enough to type negative comments all day on social sites? LMAO at you…grow up! They said GET EM, well I GOT EM!!!! (thumbs up) #Triumphant
i’m smelling of another hit potential!!! this song gonna be huge.
This song is Haunting and Mariah Vocal is on point . So what if she seems to be a featuring she is MARIAH CAREY hell she can do whatever she want!!!!
Mariah., Thank You for giving us another opportunity to listen to your new great track. You are indeed a Truly Living Legend nothing to compare with . We appreciate you while you still with us and enjoy your music.
Love the rapping! overall the song is good BUT to be REAL,
its just Rick Ross and Meek Mill FT. Whoriah Scarey
FIRST SINGLE MY ASS!!! she’s just singing for a few secs
FLOP HAS-BEEN B!TCH #Bye
It’s a nice song, but I’m not sure if an inspirational song was a wise choice for the summer.
I give Mariah major props for sticking to her roots, and not jumping on the pop/dance/techno sound like other R&B artists are doing now just to garner a hit and sell records. Mariah is like R. Kelly, they both have yet to sell out. MJB is another one.
I think this is just a buzz single because her album is not complete yet. I’m guessing the album will drop in the next few months, probably closer to her AI gig.
And how can folks say that this won’t be a hit on urban radio? Are you all nuts? This song is gonna smash on urban radio, but not on pop. This song is way too urban for pop radio, and that is exactly how Mariah wanted it.
Memoirs had no cross-over appeal because the album was hardcore R&B, and was
way too urban for pop radio which is why the singles weren’t well received except I think Obsessed was an actual hit but that could been because of the controversy that surrounded the song.
Don’t ever underestimate Mariah’s status as an R&B artist because she is one of the most successful R&B acts of all time. Just look at the BB stats.
LOL really now? This song if she took the lead role on it would not be half bad but she sounds like a feature in her own song. This is a woman we have not heard from in a number of years. It’s not like she releases music often enough for ppl to say well this is just something new she’s trying. This is her retune after a hiatus.
MC has been quite successfu for a number of reasons one of which is her vocal ability. I can say a lot against her but she can actually sing that’s for sure. MC is playing her lane. Ppl should always do that. Some R&B artists have always had Pop, Dance elements in their music. And some as you have righfully stated, are bandwagon jumpers trying to compete with a much young generation of artists. In the Pop world, Madonna comes to mind. And I am a long time fan of hers but its just the truth!
Sorry But As a true Lamb, This is Garbage. there I said it, i dont give a damn if you think Ima lamb or not, I am, This is 100% let down. Feature artist on your own track? tisk NEXT
i felt the same way 1st time i heard it…10 minutes later i liked it,the next i heard the remixes i started lovin all 3 versions.its stuck in my head now
She SHoulda Left them Rappers off this track. Straight feature on track. So god darn disappointed. Hope the “remix” is better then this. What the hell happen to her?
I don’t care if she is Mariah Carey.
I’m not here for her stans either.
I remember asking wtf all the hype was when I was a child, shit I still do.
Had any other artist released trash like this everyone would be saying(flop, wack, not good, sucks)
I swear the double standards. This song sounds like a throwaway from e=mc2
the fact that the two guest overshadow her,the vocals are lazy (she can’t sing in full voice and hasn’t been able to since about 2004…
She has earned her place but that doesn’t mean she can release garbage.
Plus isn’t she damn near 50? Bad enough Madge is terrifying ppl all over with pre-Christ age vagina while singing songs better suited for teens.
Here’s hoping A.I take s the idea of an album away from her…
Thumb me down all you want.
The truth hurts
I’ve been a fan since 93 and have to say whatever her intentions she still sounds like a feature on her own song. Someone needs to tell her the truth. This song is okay at best but it’s not hot!!!
I love Mimi, but her image and sound are very dated. She needs to comeback with a stronger material. She’s a very respectable singer and can appeal an older audience. It looks like she is trying to revive the glory moments of ‘Emancipation’ era. This won’t happen.
This song would have been so much better if it was just Mariah. The rap is completely unnecessary and over shadows the song. This should be Meek Mill & Officer Ricky ft. Mariah Carey. ijs
We really have to stop EXPECTING R&B ARTISTS to make music that might be played on a POP RADIO STATION! Because POP is obsessed with RAP these days this song might get played on a POP RADIO STATION.
Again, we have got to stop EXPECTING R&B ARTISTS to always have success on the POP CHARTS! There is a reason for the DIFFERENT BB CATEGORIES even if the popular society only chooses to recognize its own ppl aka POP ACTS!
this should have been a minute longer. Atleast another verse after Meek Mill before the first chorus. Instead of all the “get em hit em” nonsense.
Then i would have no problem calling this a Mariah Carey song and not an MMG song.
another wrong choice for first single. mariah voice in this song declare that her big voice officially dead. triumpant is as worse as loverboy , it stink really.
Mariah isn’t featured really till about 2 minutes into the song. When you finally get to that point, you’re so incredibly bored by the inane rapping in the beginning that you can barely stand to hear the rest of the song.
I like Mariah a lot, but if you told me this was a throw-away track from E=MC2, I would believe it. It’s so unremarkable.

I love Mimi, but this shit is just boring!! Fuck these rappers! I don’t understand why she keeps trying to appeal to a urban crowd, when shes loved all over the world!!! Man will somebody please make real music without all of these damn auto tune sound!!! This shit is really becoming a predictable place in music, and Mimi needs to get a whole new sound!!

It’s like it’s a Rick Ross song ft Meek Mill & she just singing the bridge & hook. I like it though but I wish it were more than what I expected from the octave queen! I’m still here for her new music tho!

#mcforever

NICE SONG nice message but since WHEN did we start having featuring artist do the verses do just the chorus & Bridge?? Good blend of R&B & Hip hop nonetheless.

I love Mimi, but her image and sound are very dated. She needs to comeback with a stronger material. She’s a very respectable singer and can appeal an older audience. It looks like she is trying to revive the glory moments of ‘Emancipation’ era. This won’t happen.

Yes, there is too much Rick Ross and Meek Mill on it…and yes, she does sound like a guest on her own song…but the most important thing here is:
IT’S NOT DANCE/POP/TECHNO!
That alone makes up for any and all of its other flaws.

Three versions of Mariah Carey’s new single “Triumphant” have been serviced to Australian radio:
1. Mariah Carey Feat. Rick Ross & Meek Mill —Triumphant (Get ‘Em) –Edited 4:10
2. Mariah Carey Feat. Rick Ross & Meek Mill —Triumphant (Get ‘Em) – Vintage Throwback Remix 3:54
3. Mariah Carey Feat. Rick Ross & Meek Mill —Triumphant (Get ‘Em) – Explicit 04:10
The ‘Vintage Throwback Remix’ of “Triumphant” is described as “commercial, with new Mariah vocals & no rappers” & is compared to Usher’s recent work.

this should have been a minute longer. Atleast another verse after Meek Mill before the first chorus. Instead of all the “get em hit em” nonsense.
Then i would have no problem calling this a Mariah Carey song and not an MMG song.

Give us something fresh, Mariah.
