New Song: Melanie Amaro – ‘Love Me Now’

Published: Thursday 16th Aug 2012 by Sam

With the second season of The X Factor USA around the corner, season one winner Melanie Amaro‘s latest cut ‘Love Me Now’ comes at the timeliest of times.

A slinky mid-tempo, the track brings with it a welcome change in pace from her first effort Don’t Fail me Now’

Take a listen, via Perez Hilton, below…

While we were waiting (and waiting) for “that” big moment that never came, the track is solid and certainly provides a definitive map as to where the newcomer should be going musically. Not bad.

It’s a good album track. A very quality album track. After all that money she was awarded, you’d think that Epic Records would be pumping cash into her career especially as the first season’s winner. It sounds like the rough cut the writer would record. It also doesn’t seem like Melanie does anything to stand out except sing good. With Brandy you can expect the trademark runs & riffs, with Beyonce you can always expect some grand finale and a big finish, with Christina she always has wow trick up her sleeve, but Melanie, a lot like her look, is just very average. This song was honestly like good s** without the big finish. The grand finale orgasm that never happened. Like s** with no orgasm, this song has left me content fort the moment, but not satisfied for a long period of time. She just doesn’t stand out like Fantasia or Kelly Clarkson both do in their respective genres. I need her to OWN her songs like I know she can instead of just sing them like a good karaoke singer because we all know that this child can SANG. I’m rooting for you Melanie but come harder next time! Pack a punch with a track like we all know that voice does!

i agree with everything u said. EVERYTHINGGGG!

      • i’m not throwing shade, but… August 17, 2012

I agree with both of you, its just a bit blah. I can see a un moved crowd if she has to preform this on the show

She has a beautiful voice and the song is good, but I feel like something is missing >_ < Maybe its just me?

She could easily pick up and be the next Mariah Carey but like MC, Melanie has a beautiful voice but she doesn’t have that stand out sound that Mariah has. Mariah is clearly fading and releasing sub par material so Melanie hurry up and fill the shoes! They’re wide open diva!

    • MC August 16, 2012

No one can fill Mariah’s shoes, don’t be demented. Mariah has been in the business for 22 years, what do you expect? For her to still get #1 every song? Appoint me to a person who has been in the business for 22 years and is still making hits? I’ll wait….

      • IKNOWTHETRUTH August 16, 2012

Tina Turner was in her 40’s when “What’s Love?” came out and it went number 1. Cher was also over 40, maybe even in her 50’s when “Believe” came out and it went number 1 and won a grammy. Mariah has been releasing crappy work for quite some time now. This all started after the gorgeous EMOM album. “Triumphant” is horrible and Melanie has a very good chance at filling her shoes.

      • MC August 16, 2012

I am talking about TODAY. Appoint to to the person on the charts making hit TODAY. The only type of music that are hits right now are songs like “Call me maybe”. You are obviuosly very stupid for trying to make it sound like anyone can fill in Mariah’s shoes; no one can! Melanie has a beautiful voice, but she is no Mariah. Lets not get that confused, okay? What’s next? Are you going to tell me Beyonce is going to fill in MJ’s shoes or Christina A..is going to fill in Whitney’s shoes. These people MJ, Mariah, Whitney, Celine, Aretha, Anita, etc they one come once and on one is going to fill their shoes EVER. Have a seat boo your dumb ass is showing. #Goodfuckingbye

Absurd point! And my dear Tina f****** Turner didn´t have the hits and success Mariah had before 30 for example. There´s no point. Tina´s biggest popularity was in her 40´s even 50´s (all of her career but u konw what I mean), some others peak of popularity is at 30 years old, so what? Mariah is pretty much the only one right now with possibilities of having #1´s at her age. that says it all

The melody, production and Ms. Amaro’s voice are terrific. The lyrics are trite and repetitive. This song sounds like it was churned out of a machine. THIS SONG IS GARBAGE.

was this darkchild too? for some reason i could hear him doing this… it sounds just like a gospel song i know, but i can’t put my finger on which one it is.

  11. welwel August 16, 2012

It’s OK..Too bad she ain’t gotta “Home” like Phillip Phillips…that dude is selling a ton of singles…hope X Factor being back on TV helps…..Radio doesn’t seem to be open to her yet…..now if she came out with a song as good as “Run Free” by Rebecca Ferguson, I’d believe it……

  12. Beyonce’s Weave (& Her “HIVE” of Head-Lice) August 16, 2012

To be honest, I only liked the third part of the song, the first two parts are a hot mess. If we are to be honest, LA Reid never really did believe in this girl, the whole show seemed rigged to make Simon Cowell win and now LA is stuck with a lemon he has to turn into lemonade (only it is proving harder than he thought).

This girl has just about a good voice as far as big ballad divas goes (there are better big ballad divas who are lost and forgotten, note: Treyc Cohen, Pia Toscano, Ruth Lorenzo to name a few) thus, big ballad divas are now a dime a dozen.

I will admit though that since X-Factor, she has gotten better vocally but here’s hoping she gets something she didn’t go with on X-Factor which is stage presence and delivery. If she hasn’t got that, she’ll be one of those one album singing competition winners who few care about, just saying.

  13. MusicB August 17, 2012

It’s a really nice song. I could see this being a hit and doing what it’s supposed to do. To me she’s like Jennifer Hudson, she has a great voice but they don’t know what to do with her musically.

D.O.A. she is going nowhere fast!
