The Spice Girls Rock 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony

Published: Sunday 12th Aug 2012 by David

With London hosting the Olympic Games 2012, it was only fitting that its grand Closing Ceremony brought with it the grandest girlband of all – the Spice Girls.

Ginger, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Posh rocked the house with a rousing medley of their hits. What are you waiting for? Spice up your…night..after the jump…

Sam’s 2 Pence:

Epic…if only for its nostalgic value.

What’s more, the ladies looked stunning. Mel B was serving all sorts of J.Lo ‘On The Floor’, while Victoria posed all the way down, channelling The Dark Knight rises with her flowing black dress on the vintage London taxi. We can’t but salute.

they just have that charisma and slight arrogance about them that you will never find among todays artists.

I just f****** love the Spice Girls, I was born 1994, and enjoying them when I was only 4, 5 and 6, I was obsessed, love seeing them take the stage and cement their status, they were pop force, log live the spice girls, Makes me pride to be British.

  6. MISHKA August 12, 2012

    SLAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYED!!!!!

    Legends. Legit.

Posh Spice didn’t sing for sh!t but she stayed true to her nickname because the dress was drop dead gorgeous!!!

Scary Spice killed it with outfit, wig, charisma and everything.

Love them all. Thank you London2012!!!

On another note, I was happy for Emeli Sande. She wouldn’t have got so much exposure if Adele wasn’t pregnant. Talking of Adele, I can’t help but think about a serious case of bad timing . She should have showed up and gave birth on stage, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

    • MISHKA August 12, 2012

      *given*

      • MJ Lover August 12, 2012

lmao you’re a mess!! Give birth on stage? lmao XD

Flawless goddess Beyoncé has plenty of admirers, but recent high-profile endorsements from her peers are almost disturbingly hyperbolic.

We know Beyoncé is a big fan of Beyoncé, but even the humblest of humans would get a big head from the effusive compliments these A-listers are spewing.

Rihanna is only the most recent fangirl, tweeting a photo of Beyoncé with the caption, “This pic could single handedly destroy the self esteem of an entire nation.” Basically, kill yourself — you will never be Beyoncé.

And why stop at the United States? Gwyneth Paltrow calls Beyoncé “the most talented human being on the planet.” Like Gwyneth, Bey is a triple threat. We must never forget her star-making turn as Austin Powers in Goldmember’s Foxy Cleopatra.

Huffington Post notes that even Kim Kardashian has jumped on the “worshipping at Beyoncé’s altar” bandwagon. According to the New York Daily News’ source — which, OK, we’ll take that with a grain of salt — Kim would “live and breathe to hang out with Beyoncé.”

Will the praise ever die down? Could Beyoncé’s head inflate so big that it actually pops?

I mean, seriously, it’s impossible to stay grounded when people would crawl over broken glass to gaze at your glorious visage. Whether or not Beyoncé wants to be Queen of the Universe, celebrity sycophants may have appointed her to the task.

It probably has something to do with the Illuminati.

Biggest Selling Girl Group of all time! THEY HAVE SOLD 75,000,000 ALBUMS WORLDWIDE! MORE THAN ANY OTHER GIRL GROUP!

    • Sam August 12, 2012

I thought Destiny’s Child were ‘officially’ the most successful girl group of all time. May be wrong.

      • truth tea August 12, 2012

DC in america i think, not globally. Spice girls have 2 albums that crossed the 20mill WW sales mark. 9 #1 singles, including 3 christmas number ones.

      • RG2 August 12, 2012

Destiny’s Child is considered to be One of the best selliing girl groups but over all it’s the Spice Girls

THESE ARE THE TOP THREE GIRL GROUPS IN THE WORLD.

    • Harry August 12, 2012

  14. S****** Blonde August 12, 2012

First congrats to The UK they really make a wonderful job with the 2012 Olympics, i’m American but you should be proud of all the people who make this happen. just brilliant but they have to kill who included One Direction to perform at the closing ceremony, the rest i enjoy everything, i’m gonna miss those boys in speedos.

    • Martyn August 12, 2012

I totally agree… who the HELL included One Direction!? And there was far too much Jessie J for my liking. Other than that – EPICCCC!

      • S****** Blonde August 12, 2012

Me too, to much Jessie J.

      • Peter Griffin August 12, 2012

You usually you chat s*** but this time you’re spot on! Though I was wondering why there was no Adele or Coldplay. Maybe it’s because they’re too depressing for such a joyous occasion?

  15. Fashion914.com August 12, 2012

    wow…that was cool

  16. BIGGESTAALIYAHFAN August 12, 2012

Oh my gosh, I was just born again. So many great childhood memories. Luv Them. They all looked incredible. This maybe a little far fetched, but I would luv another album and tour…..PLEASE!!!!

  17. Fashion914.com August 12, 2012

    The was nice!

  18. Slayty Perry August 12, 2012

Yas!!! Scary Spice giving me life!! Always was my fav

  19. Kyle August 12, 2012

I was in the fourth grade when they hit it big and I remember the pandamonium they caused. Their songs were innocent but so damn catchy. I can appreciate this!

  20. BitchICan’tEvenSpellWelfare August 12, 2012

Much props to the UK for a brilliant Olympics.

& the closing ceremony was excellent!

Emelie Sande, George Michael, Annie Lennox, The Who, & the Spice Girls– just yasss!

I learned firsthand, tonight, that very, very, very few pop girls are on Jessie J’s vocal level. She.can.sing. Love her.

“Wonderwall” was excellent. You see how EVERYONE responded to that brilliant song? Right. Die generic b*******, DIE!

  21. im not throwing shade, but… August 13, 2012

I co sign twice, far too much Jessie J. I didn’t like the closing ceremony and felt that it was actually boring in most parts they seemed to make a show for the world which meant they rolled out the big guns/golden oldies and instead of showing the world what we had, we showed them what they already knew… Tinie, Jessie, Taio and i’m surprised that there was no Leona, Florence and Adele pregnant or not. I think that they could’ve given much more time to newer U.K talent in the two hours plus they gave. The spice girls were actually the best most energetic part of a flat show

  22. LOLA August 13, 2012

WHy cant black girls do the same ? Yes Im talking to you Beyonce, LeToya, Kelly, Michelle and Latavia!

  23. Gees August 13, 2012

Man the videos are being removed 🙁

  24. Iwishabitchwould August 16, 2012

@lola I AGREE! We all know who the issue is in that equation….The Spice Girls all had shine in that group…there are many girl groups that have reunited that are black….SWV…En Vogue….702…Blaque…DC is the only one that wont ever fully get back…great line up that would be too!
