I don’t say this to bash Kelly Rowland, but there are so many occasions early in Kelly’s solo career where she mentions Brandy’s influence and it’s never been the other way around. I remember during Kelly’s Ms Kelly era when she was a guest on The View how she went on about being inspired by Brandy (just to name one instance).
If anything I’ve only witnessed Brandy mentioning how she admire Beyonce, but not once Kelly. The hair that they both sport (big curly do) Brandy was modeling with for hair care products in ’06 (maybe ’07). I’ve seen her live around that time and she was wearing her hair that way. Kelly is her friend like you stated (and I’m certain some things rubbed off). I’ve only seen Kelly rocking that do in recent times. Look up Ultra hair and you’ll see what Brandy pics I’m referring to. I don’t know why Kelly’s name pops up from time to time, but none of the claims being made are justifiable.

I didn’t say it to shade Kelly Rowland. I’m a big fan of Kelly Rowland, but I’m a bigger fan of Brandy.
I support Kelly’s music, but I’m saying…Brandy’s accomplishments came first and Brandy is Kelly’s senior. There is no shade. You can hear Brandy’s influence in some of Kelly’s music and that’s one of the reasons I love Kelly Rowland. Now shade theez in ur butt.

What is Brandy’s music supposed to sound like? Each Brandy album has had a different sound…she has never been afraid to experiment with different sounds and types of music. R&B (Never Say Never) is what put her on the map but please don’t put her in a box…especially when you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Put It Down is def Brandy as well as any other song she chooses to embrace. Now you have several seats plus one in time out.

You guys are a waste of time and energy. I have always been a fan of Brandy especially growing up watching Moesha. But I am a bigger Kelly fan. Why do someone have to be called a hater when they r infact stating the truth. Of course someone who is a superfan is gonna go along with everything she does. As a Kelly fan I will never go along with everything she does! Kelly fans always tell her like it is and is honest. But you can’t get mad when someone disagrees with you. “Put It Down” is not Brandy! Your assuming way too much. Yes, I am a superfan and guess what, I’m still very honest with my favs. If I don’t like something, I don’t tear them down. I rarely come at artist I don’t like that way (so I’m definitely not doing it to my favs). I’ll maybe suggest something that might help or simply keep my mouth shut. There does come a time where you just have to frank though.
In this comparison between Bran and Kelly, I know what I’m stating is true. I don’t blindly love my favs to deny the truth. I just know for a fact that Kelly is inspired by Brandy and I’ve seen Bran with the cruly hair first . #Fact
Fine… PID seem to you to be out Bran’s comfort zone, but I have always heard Brandy do something new on every album she’s made. Bran rather stop making music than repeat NSN. And wow at the message. It’s no hate just not my thing. She’s very talented but if you put it down maybe we can fall in love ,Maybe fall in love then we get down. I guess bottom line for me is that Brandy stood for more but linking with Chris Brown to put it down and grind on tv didn’t move me. Brandy and sexy NO. Still an awesome singer though.
