As earlier reported, Mariah Carey was honored with the BMI Icon Award in Los Angeles last night.
Of the night’s many performers, the most notable was soulful songbird Fantasia, who served up a rousing rendition of Carey’s 1993 smash ‘Hero’.

Yall need to quit telling people that they need to lose weight. Not everybody wants to be a size 0. I bet some of you telling people they need to hit the gym are about 50lbs overweight yourself. Just shut the fuck up already. Fantasia looks great and does not need to lose weight.
Instead of focusing so much on females weight, try focusing some of that hate on these overweight rappers.

i don’t think that i could be any more ready for a new fanny album. she really has one of the most special voices that i have ever heard. even if there are singers that have better tone, or timber fanny has one thing that the beyonces and rita oras (no hate they have great voices) can’t buy. thats the ability to FEEL what she is singing and make you feel it. she doesn’t have to write a song to inject her soul into it and that is something special.

What singer wouldnt say they were inspired by the 90′s Mariah…. she was and is still is an ICON…
that has nothing to do with her ability to perform live NOW. But because she is truly one of the greatest voices… she gets a pass.
The video showed ONE pic of them doing a similar pose and she supposedly is copying Mariah….WTF??? (not to mention Im not sure who took the pic first….)

& this is coming from a true Fanny Fan… Ive been rooting for her since American Idol. She is the best vocalist of this generation…. and 2nd is Beyonce… just my opinion (im fans of both)… I would love to see Fantasia do an album like Adele’s 21… Maybe Fanny didnt realize that the majority of the people who voted for her were white… (im blk btw)… White people love Fantasia and she could really blow up if she puts out the right songs, and if she stops actin like a ghetoo church fool all the time… Kick off your shoes at the end of the show when the song is building up to a climax… not at the begining… When Patti does it, its cuz she is about to go off in the song and she just cant control it…. When Fanny does it, it has no impact cuz its predicatable… I LOVE YOU FANTASIA….. but please take keep your shoes on….
When Frank Gatson was on her VH1 show, he told her the same thing…. keep your shoes on… Her voice is soooo perfect that it will do all the work for her… she doesnt need to jump around all the time…(even gospel artists dont shout all the time). Although sometimes when she does take it to church, i love it…. but not every song… and the Screaming has to stop… I would love for her to go the Adele route. I want to see Fanny at the VMAS and the Billboard Awards and all the other top award shows… FAnny PLEASE, I am begging you… Refine yourself and you will be HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a difficult song to sing…. I didn’t really enjoy her vocal performance, but her stage presence did evoke some raw emotion (as always).
The first time I i listened to it, I pressed play and went into the bathroom, and having only the audio to go by, I really didnt like. But when I actually watched it, I liked it a little more.

i really love Fantasia but she dont have to take every song to church the way she does. However i will say that this was quite tame for her.
