Though we’d say her greatest crime to date are those she’s committed against music, this week has seen animal rights group PETA slam Rihanna for her crimes against fashion….more specifically, the part they say she plays in animal cruelty.
Full story below…
Two nights ago, the ‘Styled To Rock‘ producer was snapped wearing the above snake skin boots during out a night out in London.
This prompted the group to release the following statement earlier today:
“Rihanna may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive. Of course, they can’t go on Oprah to cry about it.
Wearing reptile skin is creepy and callous, and it makes her look even more out of touch. She and Lady Gaga seem so desperate to be freaks instead of recognised for their talents that you have to wonder if they realise that they are being laughed at.”
In the city in preparation for her forthcoming performances at the VMAs and the 2012 Paralympics Closing Ceremony, the singer is yet to respond to PETA’s release- which has thus far prompted the following tweets from users on social networking site Twitter:
PETA are such annoying bitches attacking Gaga and Rihanna get a life and go save the animals that are still alive you idiots
