It’s surprising, though, that her incredible success hasn’t brought with it a chart-topping album on home-soil – until now. For, according to this week’s sales estimates, the 33 year old’s sixth studio album ‘The Truth About Love’ is on course to open at #1 on the Billboard 200 next week.

Nearest rivals, G.O.O.D Music are on course to debut at #2 with sales of 170k-190k, while Nelly Furtado‘s ‘The Spirit Indestructible’ is literally nowhere to be seen. However, its current iTunes position of #48 should give an indication of where it’s heading.
In any case, congratulations are most certainly in order for Pink. She’s one of the most consistent (and consistently underrated) artists in recent memory – so it’s great to see her finally achieving the success her talent calls for. And with new single ‘Try’ flying straight into the iTunes top 10 today, it could well be the legs that struts the album towards Platinum status in the months ahead. More power to her!

Oh, and Nelly’s album. I usually like Furtardo andf i loved loose, but those vocals were like nails on a chalk board! I juast couldn’t listen. I also thought that although some of the beats were good the construction was bad… including the bonus tracks. She needs to start again.

I personally think this is her best album so she deserves it! Even though she hasn’t scored a #1 album yet, her album sales in general say enough. Her sales have always been consistent and have all had longevity on the charts (with the exception of “Try This”). She has had an amazing career so far. Much respect to her!

- It ´s good to see an album surpassing 200,000 copies first week. It´s rare nowadays. Sad but true. So congrats (if the numbers end being like that)
- Pink is not the Queen of anything (u need to be less generic for that)

It actually sold less than Loud’s opening week (and Loud’s first week sales weren’t impressive), failed to break 200k, and was nicely cock blocked from the #1 spot by Nickelback and Michael Buble.

If Pink’s having never scored a #1 album before this was usually not talked about, then that says that she’s more than her chart statistics. If Rihanna’s inability to score a #1 album is consistently talked about, then that says that she isn’t.
Pink as a musician/performer/celebrity has character and substance, as does her music. People have other things to talk about when it comes to her and her music than just where it lands on the charts. Rihanna, by comparison, is just an empty by-the-numbers pop star whose value is ONLY measured by her last hit.
THIS is why nobody shat on Pink for her lack of a #1 album and why people do shit on Rihanna for the same reason. Pink’s artistry is respected. Rihanna’s isn’t, because she’s no artist. She’s just a shallow pop star who is marketed to shallow kids. So when she fails to top the charts, it’s glaring because that’s the main goal for her. That’s all she exists for.
This is why Pink will still be around in 20 years and Rihanna won’t.

Pink is awesome. This is amazing. She does pop/rock in a great way. She is just a great artist altogether. Rihanna is not even in Pink’s league. Pink is very consistent. Her sales are great and so are her records. Itunes is not the end all be all in terms of album sales though. Hopefully, Nelly Furtado can atleast cover 50k. This era for her has been completely mishandled.
