This week, That Grape Juice salute a breed that we’re particularly fond of. Without an ounce of doubt we are talking DIVAS {www.SheIsDiva.com}! What better way to honour these iconic figures than to give a nod to today’s most pronounced ambassador of the cause?
Needless to say, today’s From The Vault comes courtesy of the legend-in-the-making Beyonce and her aptly-titled ‘Diva’ release.
Helmed by TGJ favorites Bangladesh and Sean Garrett, the 2008 cut (lifted from the multi-Platinum ‘I Am…’ LP) sees Ms. Knowles’ alter-ego, Sasha Fierce, take center stage for an unapologetic ego-trip. If you didn’t know it before, the then-27 year old left no uncertainty that she was “the number one diva in this game”.
The Hip-Hop soaked cut, which for many was an estrogen equivalent to Lil’ Wayne’s infectuous ‘A Milli’, peaked at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart (sidenote: the single was only sent to Rythmic and Urban radio, a shame if you ask us). Without ever being officially released outside of the US, it still managed to chart at #40 in Australia and #72 in the UK based on downloads alone.
In the black and white music video, directed by longtime collaborator and friend Melina Matsoukas, Sasha amps it up with attitude-filled choreography accompanied by her ever reliable dancers and rocking Thierry Mugler designs with both sass and class.
As Bey drills home in the song, “a diva is a female version of a hustler”. Although we concur with her definition, we definitely feel there more, which begs the question…

Beyonce launches a new version of the original fragrance Pulse intended for summer – Pulse Summer Edition. The scent is described as fresh, playful, optimistic and upbeat summer time compliment to the original.

Its composition is floral – fruity with fresh sparkling top notes and creamy base. The top notes include icy mandarin, pear and pink pepper. The heart is exotic and floral, featuring ginger orchid, jasmine and orange blossom. The creamy base is composed of sapphire woods, musk and benzoin.
The fragrance is available as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum. Pulse Summer Edition was launched in 2012.

The fragrance opens with sparkling top notes of pear blossom, frozen bergamot and accord of Blue Curacao liqueur. The heart features Bluebird orchid, for the first time used in a fragrance. There are also notes of delicate peony and intensive midnight blooming jasmine. The base is warm, sensual and irresistible, made with Madagascar vanilla, musk and precious woods.
The modern faceted bottle is designed to look like it’s upside down, while its blue colors evokes the fragrance inside. The nose behind this fragrance is Bruno Jovanovic.

Heat Rush is another edition to be created in collaboration with Coty Beauty. Perfumer who worked on the new fragrance is Honorine Blanc of Firmenich. The new version of Heat is envisaged to be the perfect companion to Heat, since Heat is ideal for night while Heat Rush will be great for daily walks and meetings. The focus does not lie on sexy notes but on elegance this time. Beyonce herself pays a lot of attention on creation of her perfumes and approaches them like writing a song. She hopes that women of all generations will find themselves in aromas of this fragrance, since it is young, fresh and less-serious scent.
Opening notes of Heat Rush start the composition with passion fruit sorbet, blood orange and Brazilian cherry. Its heart blooms with yellow tiger orchid, mango blossom and orange hibiscus, while a warm base closes with teak wood, honey amber and Rio sunset musk.
The fragrance is poured in an orange, glass flacon shaped as the original edition. Heat Rush hits the shelves in various sizes, as 15, 30, 50 and 100 ml. Its accompanying collection includes shimmering body cream and shower gel. Heat Rushwas launched in 2010.

Even though Beyonce is advertising face of perfumes Diamonds Armani and True Star Tommy Hilfiger, she says that her first fragrance, Heat, represents herself. Her wish is that her first fragrance stands for everything that makes her and that she is content with the final product, without worrying about deadlines of work on the perfume. “This is my first fragrance and I want to be sure that I will love it forever! ” – stated Beyonce for wwd.
Fragrance Heat was created in an antique glass flacon, just like Beyonce wanted. She coloured it in red nuances which remind of flames transforming into burning orange. Fiery and sexy, just like her, the flacon is decorated with a discrete gold detail on neck of the flacon with engraved name of the fragrance. Assortment of Heat perfume includes 30, 50 and 100ml EDT, along with a 200 ml golden lotion.
Advertising campaign was made by photographer Michael Thompson, while video commercial was directed by Jake Nava.

We hear Keibler ran into Whitney Port in the Empire Hotel Tuesday, and when the reality star-turned-designer invited her to her runway show, Keibler declined. Why? Cause she was going to another show with KK!
“She said she had to attend Marchesa, which was being held at the same time, to thank her for her golden Oscar dress everyone loved so much,” says a witness.
Earlier this month, rumors circulated that Keibler and Clooney had called it quits. While Kiebler was in town doing the Fashion Week circuit on her own, she and Clooney are very much still together.
“George likes that she does her own thing,” says a source close to Keibler.

Reigning as one of the best and most entertaining, Beyonce works harder than any other male or female artist, period.
Referring to Beyonce as a king may raise a few eyebrows, but no worries, the reigning diva has been referring to herself as “King Bey” for the past couple of weeks and she has good reason.
Last week, Beyonce sold out four shows in a quick mind-boggling 22 seconds, leaving many other artists scratching their heads as to how she did it.
Well, it’s called the Beyonce effect.
Beyonce is known to put on a show-stopping performance, where she makes her audience members feel as if they’re on another planet with her.
Whether it’s her aerial acts, stellar dance sequences, or riveting ballad numbers, Beyonce puts on for her city, her country and most importantly, herself.
Besides her husband, no one else is giving Beyonce a run for her money. No one.
Yes, Lady Gaga comes in as second runner up, but without her head-scratching antics, or crazy gimmicks, she’d be just another artist.
Beyonce doesn’t need a gimmick, she doesn’t need a meat dress, or a gigantic egg. Beyonce needs a stage and a mic to leave her fans wanting more.
After last night’s Roseland Ballroom concert, Beyonce has many music critics in awe, wondering how she does it all.
The way Beyonce packages herself and her brand is unlike any other artist out there and with that said, she can no longer be just the queen of music, she must be the king.
So scoot over Jay and ‘Ye, Beyonce needs some space, because she’s in the running to take that throne right out from under you.
