New Video: No Doubt – ‘Push And Shove (ft. Busy Signal & Major Lazer)’

Published: Tuesday 25th Sep 2012 by Sam

Today marks the global release of No Doubt‘s eagerly awaited comeback LP ‘Push And Shove’.

The 10 track set serves as the Pop quad’s first studio album in over 10 years; hence so as to ensure it launches with palpable bang, Gwen and co have premiered the video for the LP’s title cut.

What are you waiting for? Check it out below…

Clearly not a big-budget affair, the video gives a nostalgic nod to No Doubt of yesteryear, which we like.

Although we’re still unsure as to how or if the track “fits” into the contemporary climate. Yes, they’ve always been unconventional -which is much of the reason we’ve got the new album on replay. Yet there often runs the risk of artists veering too left and becoming cluttered musically. Traits, unfortunately, present in this song.

That said, the chorus is still every flavour epic! Here’s hoping this smashes – if only for that reason!

Gwen hasn’t age one bit, i guess she found the fountain of you. I love reggae/dancehall influence in their music kinda remind me of bob marley music and rihanna’s man down.

I LOVE it!!!!!! This is my fav song among the ones I´ve listened to (the 3 singles). Haven´t heard the album yet. But if there is justice in music world (I know there isn´t anymore) Rihanna and Kesha should flop (harder than what they do sometimes) and no Doubt should have a bigger #1 album than Pink (not to bash her but she is pretty generic and basic compared to No Doubt). This means they should do way above 200,000 copies first week
If not… shame on you people. You are the ones who need to bring real and diverse music to the top. This era has to finally end. These last 10 years have been horrible in general
You can do it people!!! Come on

haha man! when I saw you were going to tell us your fave albums of 2012 I thought u were going to limit yourself to 10 maximum… lol but it´s ok. Maroon 5 though???

      • S****** Blonde September 25, 2012

Yes!..i buy all these albums, i love Maroon 5, you don’t like them haha, what are your fav. albums so far?.

      • JOHNVIDAL September 25, 2012

It´s not that I don´t like them but they seem a little bit bland for you 🙂
I´m not ashamed of Lana del Rey´s being my favorite so far. To be honest it has been a pretty weak year to date in my opinion. These last 3 months can save it a little bit. I´m in love with No Doubt´s singles. Like I said I still have to hear the full album

Love them. Gwen’s verse is so sick !

  9. JER September 25, 2012

I’m sorry but both the song and video are sick. It’s a shame that established artists can’t experiment or do anything truly out of the box without thinking “will this get played, will anyone listen?”

No disrespect, but Adele and all those hipster bands that had hits this past year prove you can have hits if you play the game and sound different without actually being different (Adele? Really? Alanis Morisette anyone? Celine Dion? Sarah McLaughlan? Norah Jones? Amy Winehouse) No disrespect to Adele because she slayed but she’s nothing new like everyone acted. Amazing as she is.

With No Doubt, they’ve always pushed boundaries and in the past they were usually rewarded for their great music, this time around I don’t think anyone cares because it’s not hip enough. Gwen’s vocals don’t sound like she’s whipsering and recorded in a room while the band plays in a damp basement. Isnt’ that the sound all the bands are going for? So hip.
