  • kids here so obsessed with commercial success….this album is a critical success…a musicians joy is to make music people will love and respect..sales is obviously a plus but not everything….fact that artists like britney, beyonce and rihanna have sold more records than aretha, sade and patti labelle don’t mean they are more successful…before u say “FLOP” based on sales only, try and listen to the album..

  • death at album is floping.

Albums sell during a whole year, not just one week a year, lol

To some of these thatgrapejuice readers: Call me the day your album sells more than 60,000 units on first week LOL

‘flop’ is such a joke word these latest years. She is an artist, has an album out and is doing her thing. If that is a flop, Bye! lol

  • Ok, so now Sam can’t cover Brandy’s promo trail becuase of HDD’s sale predictions?! Some people are way too eager to see someone’s downfall. Brandy is still churning out great performances. Some people do still appreciate the art of good music rather than basing what they like on how well someone’s music perform or where they see it chart. Does having a #1 album and selling 500K make anything sound better? It doesn’t for me. I respect Brandy’s hustle. If she wasn’t on these shows then people would accuse her of not pushing her work because it underperformed (like she isn’t proud of it). I don’t care if it’s 70K or 100K she does in her 1st week. Two Eleven is the best album I’ve heard this year. Brandy already made her mark, I just respect where she’s going artistically at this stage of her career.

  • Brandy has done everything she needs to do. Im hoping that ppl stop this stupid My Favorite Artist vs. Your Favorite Artist crap and just support good music….. or support what you like.

Two Eleven , in my opinion , is Brandy’s best work. While her first albums were amazing, and she churned out some classics….and Afrodisiac production was bananas…..and not to mention the lyrically content of Human……the production…lyrics…and vocal performance on 2/11 has them all beat.

    Please support good music…..

  • Brandy has an r&b smash, a very good album, is getting lots of support and promo, and some are being haters for no reason. The first wks sales alonedoes not mke her a flop. Those are decent sales for her. t’ll be great if she can do a lttle more though. But atleast se’s doing real music. She’salso passionate about it. She isn’t just recrding anything that handed to her. This album will do good for her.

I swear a lot of you that post on these blogs must be between 13-18, because ya’ll sound fucking stupid. How the fuck did Brandy album flop? Ya’ll believe anything that these blogs tell you! The album just came out on Tuesday….the week isn’t over yet….matter of fact, it’s really not even based off the first week sale. She has a long way to go, promoting the album (which she is doing a fenominal job), & people are still going to be buying the album over time. Brandy is the truth & it ain’t nobody out there that you can compare Brandy to. So all you young breast milk babys put a silver spoon in your mouth & choke to death.

  • SMH @ these dummies calling something a flop! She has to have at least 5 more single worthy songs on this album.. can’t say the same for your faves! Brandy recorded something her fans would love and something that felt good to her.. Everyone LOVES it.. the main people talkin out the side of their necks haven’t even LISTENED to the album.. insecure ass hoes!!! Sittin at home lonely and miserable, punching the keys on their 1991 IBM and Brandy is gettin her LIFE. Where is your fine ass boyfriend? The 30 million records sold? The 20 years in the game? The mattell doll? the numerous acting roles, including a hit sitcom still in syndication? Brandy is good boo!

  • That Wildest Dreams performance was the epitome of perfection. I’m so happy for her!

  • The only “flops” here are the people calling an album that hasn’t even been out for a week a “flop”. What a bunch of dumbasses you are. It’s PREDICTED to be off to a slow start, yes, but since when is it a requirement that an album must have tremendous first week sales in order to be a “hit”? Brandy has more time to make this album a commercial success than 3 days. This is why kids don’t need to be on the Internet unsupervised. Sit the fuck down and go read a book.

    • So when Beyonce prediction numbers came out just like Brandy you guys weren’t calling her album a flop in the making? Face facts, Brandy album is a flop, wait until next week when her album sales drop about 15%. Brandy will be lucky if this album sales 300,000 copies, her first week sales gives you a guess on how her album will do in the long run and from the looks of it, (can anyone say Human pt.2). Also, why some one you mad that people are bringing up first week sales prediction, last time I checked every artists get the same treatment and usually HDD is pretty accurate- can we say Kelly Rowland, Beyonce, Chris Brown, what makes Brandy predictions any different? If you have to attack anyone who calls Brandy album a flop, than ya’ll know it is a flop.

so I guess we can say that all rihanna albums are flops if your going by that……hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

      • First of all, I never called Beyonce’s 300k a flop…so who in the hell are ‘you guys?’ You sound like a nerve-wrecked Beyonce fan who got his feelings hurt because of what someone else said about her. Take it up with her detractors; don’t put that on me.

Second of all, I don’t judge albums by their first week sales, because frankly that’s stupid. This isn’t a race. Brandy’s album isn’t some ‘Limited Time Only’ sports cup at McDonald’s. She’s got longer than a week to sell the damn thing. This is only a personal opinion, but I’m more impressed by an album that has a moderate start…but is able to continues to sell over time…then an album that does 500k+ out the gate, drops 50% the next week and never sees a big weekly number again.

Third of all, the truly annoying part is that this post wasn’t even about first week sales. It was about two of her promotional performances. However, that didn’t stop the ignoramuses from trolling in and hijacking the thread with idiotic rhetoric about the album being a flop — simply because the projected numbers aren’t strong.

Everything is a fucking popularity contest with you clowns. You spent your days and nights on blogs; defensive, jealous and threatened over any attention some other female artist is getting…and so you sit waiting for any bad news to come their way (and if it doesn’t happen soon enough you try and spin something into a negative) to try and lash out with.

“My Beyonce has more money than your Rihanna…my Rihanna has more hits than your Christiana…my Nicki is more relevant than your Kim…etc., etc…” So pathetic. How much commission are these women forking over to you miserable ass Stans to devote and sacrifice so much time and emotion trying to out-piss the rival fan on their behalf; having text wars with people you’ll not only never meet in person, but probably wouldn’t have the nerve to talk so tough to if you did? Are you at least getting some free CDs out of this…something?! Seriously, do you people have jobs? Do you go outside? Do you see the sun? Since no adult acts this way, I imagine that most of you are kids. Is your homework and chores done?

Whether or not Brandy’s album will be a commercial success, a moderate success or “flop” (a word you obnoxious little brats who’re still being taken care of by your parents love to throw out) remains to be seen. What I’m saying NOW, however, is that the first three days to a week isn’t make or break for any album. Plenty of hit albums have gotten off to a slow start, and still managed to do big things.

And if it DOES wind up becoming a commercial failure, so what? Brandy, at the height of her fame, was going 5 and 6x platinum in the U.S. alone — something that most pop stars of today are frankly incapable of doing. Most everything the current “it”-girls are experiencing now, Brandy already saw/achieved…and then some.

Popularity doesn’t last forever; what goes up will come back down. ALL of your favorites will experience a commercial decline in a few years…and when that happens, if you’re stuck dealing with a callow stan of some new pop star on a current high, who ignorantly dismisses the legitimacy of your fav as they try and continue their career in spite of their “moment” having passed, you’ll basically deserve it. What goes around comes around.

Listen to the music and grow the hell up.

  • The word “flop” is so overused. What happened to just liking the music, regardless of whether or not the majority of the buying public agrees with your musical tastes?
