(Actress Halle Berry At the ‘We Will Always Love You: Whitney Houston Tribute event in Los Angeles)
The stars joined to celebrate the life of the late, great Whitney Houston is a moving, Grammy-sponsored tribute last night.
As reported here, the Los Angeles hosted event boasted the vocals of Jennifer Hudson, Cece Winans, Usher, and Celine Dion (amongst others) as those tapped to lift their voices in memory of the ‘I Will Always Love You’ songstress.
Set for air on CBS November 13th, get into these snaps below from last night’s event (especially Jennifer Hudson channeling Houston circa 1988 Freedom Fest gear):
As previously reported, actress Halle Berry, rapper LL Cool J, and “singer” Britney Spears also acted as hosts for the event. (source)

Really? So Celine wasn´t performing and not even there? What a letdown
And Jennifer Hudson doing Whitney again and again. It seems they try hard to make her seem like that type of huge and timeless artist, and she is not. Anyway, I hope her imitation of that concert at Wembley is cute. We´ll see

I was hyped for the bet tribute to nippy but for some reason I guess its due to the performers on the line up im just not that intereste in this cbs special and i am a huge whitney fan. we already saw j hud tribute whitney at the grammys, usher was great for a michael jackson tribute but not whitney, yolanda already tributed whitney at the naacp image awards and did a great job. and cece sang at her funeral which was also televised. All these artist that are in the world who have been affected by ms nippy this is all that could muster? you might as weel just was these artist tribute whitney on youtube if you missed their tributes already. typical boring cbs so sad nip deserves better than that.

This is about media manipulation and the promotion of certain artists who are either CURRENTLY ON TV e.g. Brtiney Spears, or those who arre making a COMEBACK SOON like Celine Dion! It’s not about getting the best or those more closely impacted by the DIVAS musical legacy!

I will watch to see what they have put together to honor the LEGEND….THE VOICE……THE FIERCE DIVA…..WHITNEY HOUSTON! I am just displeased with the ppl they selected to tribute her. Where are: BRANDY, MONICA, FANTASIA, BEYONCE etc?

I was there last night and let me tell you Cece Winans and Yolanda brought ChuuCh to the the Nokia, especially CeCe my god what a gift. I was excited for J. Hud and am a fan but honestly Brandy’s BET tribute SLAYED and I wish she or Monica would have been there. Usher did good too. I loved watching all the performances on the screen it was like a big youtube feast!! lol.. All in all there like 3 performances and Celine did now show…. I had an amazing time and my lord CeCe Winans I cannot get over..

yes ma’am.. you have me so excited.. I LOVE CeCe Winans.. really, when you listen to “Count On Me” it’s crazy how much she and Whitney sound alike at times.. They both possessed so much POWER and conviction.
I also would have liked to see Brandy/Monica there.. I stan for Bran, but I would have just taken a monica performance.. she GOES on Whitney songs.

Seriously I’m tired of seeing Jennifer Hudson in every Whitney’s tributes and acts… Whitney was one of her inspirations like many but that’s it. She doesn’t look like her, she doesn’t sound like her!
What about friends, collaborators and people she worked with like Faith Evans, Kelly Price, Deborah Cox, Monica, Brandy, TLC, Chaka Khan…?

THey use JENNIFER for every tribute. she can sing and all that but there are other POWERHOUSE VOCALISTS that have known WHITNEY FOR YEAAAARSS Before anyone knew Jennifer. Jennofer is NEW!!! i agreed this is just a showcase for entertainers they are trying to promote. This has nothing to do with Whitney.White people still disrespecting Whitney. They disrespected her when they had a party while her dead body lay upstairs and now they are still disrespecting her for promotions and ratings. Ask yourself, do you think they would have allowed that party to go on if Cher or Celine Dion or even Brittney Spears dead bodies were lying upstairs. Also, how dare Jennifer Hudson copy off Brandy in tribute to Whitney. All other tribute before Brandy’s , the singers singed Whitney’s slow songs,including Jennifer Hudson. Now since Brandy has done an upbeat song by Whitney now Jennifer H. thinks she can do it too.
