JLS Perform ‘Hottest Girl In The World’ On ‘The X Factor’

Published: Sunday 21st Oct 2012 by Sam

Four years.

Indeed, that’s how long JLS have been on the Pop radar and is also the duration of time it’s taken for them to embrace a more “current” sound. Still, as the saying goes, better late than not.

Tonight saw the quad return to the stage that birthed their careers, The X Factor. There, they showcased an edgier sound and look with new single ‘Hottest Girl In The World’ – the lead release from their forthcoming album ‘Evolution’ (due November 5th).

Have the boys actually progressed as a live act? The answer awaits below…

Sigh.

In being fair and unbias, it’s clear the group have had many a cheesier showing. However, the performance was still the pits given   that all bar Aston weren’t doing much of anything, while Oritse was doing entirely too much. I mean, his “faux-MJ” (crotch-grab and all) was every flavour of cringe. When will these guys learn?

For their sake, it needs to be soon-ish, as ironically their success has seen many a boyband surface on the Brit-Pop scene, leaving them the ones at risk of fading away.

Your thoughts?

I’m not really a fan but God knows that they deserve WAY more International success and credit than One Direction and The Wanted!!!

    Seriously though.

I don’t know what Sam is on about but i was impressed, apart from oritse where i can agree the MJ crotch grabbing was just pure cringe, it was good! And they most defo deserve more success that 1d or the wanted at least JLS can sing and dance.

They seriously need to kick Oritse out and replace him with someone less cheesy and embarrassing. He does way too much 100% of the time. I can’t with him.

i wouldn’t say kick out coz he has got a good voice, i just think the rest of them needs to tell him to EFFIN STOP THE CRINGE.

Not gonna lie it was a good performance, much props to Asto tho, he seems to have a lot more control vocally, Ortise need to calm down, and thank God there wasn’t that much dancing, I don’t think they would have been able to pull it off otherwise.

I still think the song come across very dated, can’t help but to think of NSYNC performing it

Ah once again you ha’ve put JLS down. Why do you bother to put them on your site if you don’t think their vocally good enough in your eyes? They’re never gonna be Boyz II Men or B2K or what not. They are a BRITISH boyband. What do you expect? They appeal to people of all ages. I don’t understand why you put posts of JLS on here then criticize them? They’re not trying to be R’N’B – They are POP and good at what they do. Give them a break! Just because they might not be the American RNB vocal style of music band you would, they do what they do just fine.
