The singer has whipped both her Little Monsters and Beyonce‘s Beyhive into a frenzy today after revealing that a sequel to their 2010 smash ‘Telephone’ is slated to feature on ‘ARTPop’.

Produced by Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins, the original ‘Telephone’ featured on GaGa’s sophomore set ‘The Fame Monster’ and was a global smash, topping the Singles tally in the UK, Ireland, Holland, and Norway, while peaking at #3 on the US’ Billboard Hot 100. To-date ‘Telephone’ has sold a whopping 7.4 million copies worldwide.
Similarly, the cut’s accompanying video (which clocked it at nearly 10 minutes) was very much a Pop event and has to-date been watched over 150 million times on Youtube.

The video was one of the best of any pop stars in that era, especially because it was a clear homage to Quentin Tarantino’s films (who even let her use his truck from Kill Bill).

“Telephone” is one of my favorite pop songs of the past 5 years. The weird thing about that song is that I didn’t like it at first and it took me months to get into it. But once I was, I was HOOKED. I’m excited about the continuation, I just hope it’s different but as catchy as the original one was.

if christina had not done the ‘love your body’ video, i doubt if gaga would have pulled out and dusted off to retread her telephone video.
since both are about murder gaga…mass murder, christina’s….serial killer gaga had to rush to show she did it first.
she has trolled the hell out of christina, from copying her dress style to even gaining weight. notice tgj never calls gaga out for it.

Okay, let’s get something straight – when Gaga says the continuation of Telephone will be on the new album she means the continuation of the VIDEO storyline which started with Paparazzi and continued with Telephone. Both videos had “to be continued” at the end of them, bit of a clue there. I have no idea whether Beyonce will be involved but don’t expect Telephone part 2 because Telephone was nothing like Paparazzi – its a visual continuation and not a musical one. Truthfully I’d be surprised if Beyonce was involved as I understand Gaga already has two collaborations lined up for the album, and she doesn’t do many of these. I’m seeing “continuation of Telephone” all over the music media but, as usual, the fidiots have got it mostly wrong. I’m looking forward to seeing the video but hoping musically its nothing like Telephone as its not one of her better singles in my opinion – great video but the single was pretty average. Assuming it will be Jonas Akerlund making the video again as she definitely visited with him whilst she was in Europe.
ARTPOP can’t come soon enough for me, its going to be about 2 years since Born This Way when the new album is released, a sensible length of time as its not a good idea to leave it too long in this disposable age but putting out an album a year is a bit too much when you write all the songs yourself ;o)
I understand what you’re saying, but remember Gaga said herself that the storyline that began with Paparazzi, and ended temporarily (now) with Telephone, would not continue without Beyonce.
