This is not a good idea as far as marketing strategies are concerned. She will have more journalists at those shows than actual fans, which means that for the 7 days Rihanna will be in every news paper in 87 countries for a whole week before her album is even released. Which will be enough promo since everyone spends their lives on blogs and gossip sites.

If you release your album at the same time as other major artists then you have to compete. If you don’t then you have a number one. That’s why I don’t care about a number one album. Most people who get a number 1 album can’t go platinum even after a year and Rihanna always sells in the long run.

Some of you guys need to understand that Rihanna is in a 360 deal with her record label. The girl barely gets paid for album sales, endorsements and whatever else she puts her name on, so tours and merchandise like t-shirts and posters etc are the only way she can keep that money coming in and pay for her expenses. That’s why she releases an album every year, gotta have a reason to tour again. Ya’ll should watch Behind The Music with Toni Braxton, she had everything going for her and was at the top of the charts with her signature single but didn’t have a dime to her name because of that 360 deal and went bankrupt…Rihanna just bought her mom a house too (that her mom supposedly didn’t know was coming..psh corny). Anyway, she gotta do what she gotta do..
