Nobody else finds the cover disturbing? Please please please don’t think I’m shading but just look in her eyes. She literally looks like a tortured slave whose body has been written all over her.
I am not being shady but I’m actually scared for her. It reminds me of that scene in Fame where the black girl was forced to pose nude. Just look at the imagery, a naked black woman with a hurt look in her eyes and a body that’s been written all over.

Talk That Talk was a mess, nothing flowed. And this is just another nude pic with graphics on it to do exactly what you just said, “build attention.” Rated R had a dark concept with artwork that actually ILLUSTRATED the music. All the videos followed with the album concept as well. It was a well packaged ALBUM. Not just a bunch of photos for attention like TTT and this album cover cause the albums are just filled with shallow, meaningless pop “singles” with no depth or vision…

i said that the cover was giving me ‘icon’ and that’s a compliment, i always give credit where credit is due, hence the name “credits”. It is in fact unique and i do like it but my comment was more about the album itself and all the albums she has ever put out so quickly. For example People still remember, ‘never say never’ by brandy, people still remember ‘miss thang’ by monica, people still remember the ‘miseducation of lauryn hill’ but at this point does anyone even remember ‘loud’ or ‘music of the sun?’ To me ‘good girl gone bad’ was her best album to me, does anyone still listen to it? nope because she keeps popping albums every year. I am very sorry but I feel as though there is something we are missing here.
I am both disturbed and distraught that Rihanna allows herself to be used in this way. The album cover looks like a slave master’s fantasy, a naked black woman whose body has been mutilated with writing, even partially covering one eye.
We really have to question the imagery all of our favs put out and ask ourselves why they would do certain things. Rihanna girl I love you, but you need to change your life because I’m sincerely afraid for you.
Your label have tried the best to replace you with a cheap clone and you are forced to work for a man whose wife is clearly jealous of your success. Rihanna knows her career will be short which is why she does the things she does. She knows that singing wasn’t her dream or passion and so really takes her whole career as one huge joy ride.
Beyonce and Rita on the other hand know the value of talent and honing skills and so thats why they are shown love and respect everywhere they go. It’s impossible to say a nasty word about them.
Rihanna is a proven promiscuous girl with serious daddy issues and needs to reevalute just who she is in the world. Its not her job to raise kids, but I do wonder why she enjoys putting out so much dark and disturbed images when she seems to be such a happy person.
