The sales of Usher‘s latest LP ‘Looking 4 Myself’ may not be meeting his usual highs, yet that hasn’t deterred the crooner from pressing on with the set’s fifth single ‘Numb’.
Many insiders attribute the continuation of the project, which has sold just 380,000 copies in the US since June, to the the 33 year old’s upcoming stint as a coach on NBC The Voice. Indeed, what better way to heighten his importance to the show than to continue his run as a relevant, charting artiste?
Anyway, peep the freshly released teaser for the visual below…
We’re really not seeing the point of this song nor video – especially when there are more deserving cuts on the album (hello, ‘Euphoria’). Still, in being the fair and unbias site we are, we’ll hold full judgement until seeing the clip in its entirety. In the meanwhile…

I agreee EUPHORIA!!!!! that song just makes me run faster, I get goosebumps.. I like numb also. I like the words to it.. but I love he keeps releasing videos no matter if the previous single didn’t make it. I wish Janet would do that.

I don’t know, this song bores me to a disturbing level. I won’t even be watching the video.
I’ve hit “Euphoria” on YouTube, and it really SLAYS THE FUCK out of any urban dance song recorded in 2012.

Usher is unique and his choreography seems to be more and more creative.I liked what I saw. I have never seen a person be so attentive to details like snapping their legs closed. Keep up the good work Usher

Fuck that sellout. His album flopped hard and considering how he threw his core base under the bus to try and appeal to skinny jeans wearing Gaga/Katy fans, it’s deserved. Seems to me like his sales were A LOT healthier before he went dance/pop. People want “U Got It Bad” and “Confessions” from Usher. They don’t want “Scream” and “Numb.”

Usher should just forget about looking 4 myself & find a way of winning back his RnB fans with songs like can you help me,slow jam (my favorite),burn, confessions etc…Looking 4 Myself won’t go gold even if he ends up finding himself

Every R&B singer who is contemplating going the dance-pop route (Ne-Yo) should take note of this. Usher’s long time fans who were once fiercely devoted to him basically abandoned him with this album and those pop fans he thought he won over with these ass kissing dance songs didn’t pick up the slack. So, in the end, my guess is that it wasn’t worth trying so hard to be trendy. 380k is low enough to get an artist dropped from their label.
The worse thing you can do as an artist is to alienate your core fan base in pursuit of being trendy. Usher learned the hard way. This is about a zillion miles away from the reception of My Way, 8701 or Confessions. Hell, even Here I Stand got more love than this bullshit.

please explain me Monica, Rkelly, Frank Ocean and Miguel’s sales… album sales are just SLOW this year it has nothing to do with him not being R&B anymore.
and for the record there is 3 NON R&B SONG on his album.
Everybody is struggling to go platinum from Usher, to Justin Bieber, to nicki minak, to john mayer. I’m so tired of yall black people being so ignorant

The tight pants, the mohawk, the dance music and the poor sales………….I really don’t know Usher anymore. This is not the cat who made “You Make Me Wanna” and owned the world of music between 1997 and 2005. Who is this clown that took Usher’s name, face and career? I don’t like him.

To the person who said 380,000 is enough to get an artist dropped.. Uhh no it isn’t. Not in 2012. It would have been in 2005 but not now. Not even close.

Let me get this straight…
Thatgrapejuice wants to shade Usher’s album sales when it is pretty obvious that album sales are REALLY slow this year (except adele), everybody from Nicki Minaj to Justin Bieber is struggling to go platinum. Usher is not an exception, we are not in 2010 anymore.
Moreover I want to see you shade Chris Brown, RKelly, Trey Songz & Frank Ocean sales as well since you claim to be unbiased, because they are not better than Usher, when they should have been considering their huge exposure (Frank Ocean lying about being gay, and Chrianna)
And Sam you are HEARTLESS & COLD if you don’t see the point of the song/video, Usher went through HELL this summer, he lost his stepson, had a stalker case & almost lost his 2 kids, that’s why he wanted to release this song and not euphoria. There is nothing to be euphoric about in his life right now. It is a very personal song. You should take the time to actually listen to the lyrics.
And to the dummies telling him to go back to R&B, please tell me about Chris Brown, Rkelly, Trey songz, FrANK Ocean & Monica album sales…. and none of them has a HIT SINGLE: Usher had Climax (#1 during 3 months, & Lemme See), Usher had also SCREAM, which stayed in the top 10 for weeks.
I’m tired of yall & your big mouths not giving credit when it’s due. Usher is in this industry since 20 years and inspite of the lack of promo he is still selling more than ThatGrapejuice favorite artist Chris Brown so please STFU
