Though recent years have seen her struggle to move albums, it seems Mariah Carey‘s potency as a singles act is still intact.
For, by way of dance remixes forged in aid of the song, her latest single ‘Triumphant’ has reached #1 on the Billboard Dance/Club Play songs.

Snatching the top spot from Pink’s ‘Blow Me’ , the jam now sits pretty atop the tally, despite failing to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 upon release and peaking at #46 on the R&B/ Hip Hop airplay tally.
An official statement from Island Def Jam- at which she is housed- read:
“This is another tremendous achievement for Mariah. As one of the world’s reigning artists, she continues to set chart records and surpass even her own record-breaking accomplishments. Congratulations to Mariah and to the IDJ staff that worked to bring home this incredible club sensation”
This marks the 16th cut #1 on the chart, following 2009′s ‘Obsessed’ and 2008′s ‘Touch My Body‘.
Its success also comes after the release of her 2009 LP ‘Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel’ which peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200, opening with sales of 168,000 units and 2010′s ‘Merry Christmas II You‘ which opened with 56,000 units.
