New Video: Cher LLoyd – ‘Oath’

Published: Thursday 4th Oct 2012 by Sam

Cher Lloyd continues her US invasion with new Stateside single ‘Oath’.

Lifted from the American edition of Lloyd’s ‘Sticks & Stones’ LP, the video for the cut premiered this morning on VEVO.

With the album presently sitting plush and lush on iTunes (#5), the glossy clip could be just what’s needed to blast the LP higher on the tally.

Check it out after the jump…

Before anything, can we please have a moment of silence for Cher’s styling upgrade? UK’ers will know exactly what we mean. Those Epic coins have clearly made for an Epic change. She looks stunning!

As for the video, it hits hard for the market it’s geared at. Vibrant, glossy, and soaked in “swag”, the clip does a solid job of continuing to sell Cher as a premium talent for the teen arena. Good stuff.

*Bows down to LA Reids excellence* ATTENTION! ATTENTION! Can all the executives at Syco music give themselves their walking papers because clearly they are clueless about the music industry.

LA Reid and all the technocrats at Epic have done a fantastic job with Cher Lloyd, this looks amazing and will surely cement Cher Lloyd as a premium t*** act, good job. Syco didn’t know how to market this girl, they are clueless and rely solely on the X Factor to market their acts, only to drop them if their music does not deliver (let us not forget turning their acts into cover bands). I hope all the executives at Syco Music are having several seats, taking down notes and are applying to be interns at Epic because they clearly have been thwarted by the fierceness that Epic has made this girl to be.

I love the song, love the marketing and love the all around atmosphere Epic has done with this girl, she has great potential to be huge, only time will tell. LA Reid is a businessman and he sure does know his craft.

I don’t like the song but I agree with everything else. LA markets her really good!

This sounds like they’ve ripped the verses from Pink’s ‘Don’t Let Me Get Me’ She looks good tho 🙂

Thank you! I have been racking my brain. Cher Lloyd is pop by numbers. The music and style has been done many times before and is still being done. Teens worldwide would lap up this middle of the road tripe….. and a few queens, but this is dreadful and winey.
To be honest, i have never like Cher Lloyd but i respected her more when she tried the rap and pop&b stuff, now she’s more generic than ever. I thought a second recording trip to the US would’ve cemented a better more mature urban sound b*** i guess a hungry for fame puppet sold out.

Her facial expressions (as well as being annoying) never match the song. She keeps trying to pull a s*** face in this one despite the fact the song’s meant to be about a best friend. I don’t know why but it really pisses me off. Also she should never, even fleetingly, have her hair back, it is not a good look for her.

Honestly I feel disappointed. Her first single swagger jagger wasn’t even a good song to begin your debut, then want you back that started to capture America and made her what she is today in the US. She releases her debut album and its all disappointment after disappointment. There are may 2 or 3 songs on there tht are good and this isn’t it. She hit, talented…why she has to pull a nicki minaj move? She can do way better, that’s a fact.
