I think the song is bogus and the video is stupid,has nothing to do with the song at all.
This was nothing epic. Ciara’s first three albums were awesome. Basic instinct was just so so. I doubt more than 60% of you will even buy the album. It’s a very cool video and the song is fine for what it is. I just feel like none of it fits into the current scene – it’s dated.
I’ve come to the conclusion that most Rihanna stans are simply jealous of, and threatened by, any female artist who has natural or discernible talent (and is recognized/celebrated for it) and whose career doesn’t rely solely on sensationalist headlines, shock value, gimmicks & distraction, working with the hottest producer, pandering to the latest fad, and other assorted dollar store tricks that could basically work on any random harlot plucked off the street.
It must suck to know that most of her contemporaries can either out sing, out dance or outperform her on stage — and can claim at least one actual talent/skill that they excel at while she doesn’t have any.

Some of you kill me with claiming this, this and that is “dated”. Whenever a new song is featured here that doesn’t pander to some bubblegum fad of the moment, and instead is steeped in the styling of something more genre-specific, it gets accused of sounding dated. Get over it. Not everyone wants to make music that sounds aligned with Radio Disney, a Euro gay club, or some kind of odd mash-up of the two.
The worst thing Ciara and Brandy could have done was try to come out with some “Call Me Maybe” clone. Not only would it have made them look desperate for a hit, but with the 500 other songs on the radio that sound like that, theirs would be just another one and neither would have really stood out. In order to be your own artist, you need to have your own sound…
BUT Brandy released a GREAT album! It is very much BRANDY without sounding dated. Brandy has had her own sound for damn near twenty years! There is no comparison.
Now when it comes to Ciara, she is trapped in a box. “Got Me Good” sounds exactly like “Lose Control,” “Work,” “Gimme That,” “That’s Right” etc. I agree that her sound is very DATED and PLAYED OUT. The key is to stick with the style that made you successful, but you have to keep it fresh, new and exciting. Ciara has failed to do that!
Naw, none of those joints sound “exactly” alike. They are similar; hence Ciara’s sound. She has one and clearly most have noticed but masking it be something else (i.e. no growth, stuck, etc.) This girl is a hell of an entertainer and after these two joints she just released to say otherwise is not a fair let true assesement! Do your thing Ciara ppl are watching and def enjoying what you have to offer!
