Christina Aguilera Sets Radio Release For ‘Just A Fool’

Published: Saturday 17th Nov 2012 by Sam

Christina Aguilera is wasting no time with the release of the second single from her ‘Lotus’ LP.

As reported yesterday, the Blake Shelton assisted ‘Just A Fool’ has been confirmed as the follow-up to ‘Your Body’ (which peaked at #34 on the Billboard Hot 100).

Now, less than 24 hours later, the track has has been awarded an official “impact date” for radio. Find out when you can the Claude Kelly penned cut will be hitting airwaves below…

According to FMQB, ‘Just A Fool’ will hit US Mainstream /Top 40 radio on December 4th.

 ******

Again, kudos to Christina’s team for being both reactive and proactive in the handling of the track – which reached #13 on iTunes without any form of push.

Still holding strong in the top 20 of the tally, Christina and Blake’s confirmed performance together on The Voice will no doubt give the track an added boost. Pair with this Blake’s unparalleled popularity in the Country-Pop arena and Xtina could well be onto   a hit…if she keeps playing her cards smart.

I purchased “Your Body”. Was soo excited about it. But this song with Blake YAWWWN. Omg. We don’t need to hear her wailing on the radio like this. I must say the ballads on this album are an absolute mess next to the uptempo songs but at least I can use the uptempo as background music while I work. I will turn this s*** completely off. Not here for this, xtina. I need more hot music. This aint cutting it.

I’m also a xtina fan and I have a right to say that I don’t like the song. Why you buggin?

The best #Lotus news yet! It will be a smash hit!

    It´s a good decision
At this point it was clear she was not going to have a pop-dance hit this era (again). If Your Body didn´t make it (it´s still strange to me, it was so radio friendly) no other single would have made it
So it´s smart to see the public reaction to this duet and release it. Plus she´s going to perform it on The Voice. Good decision at this point (not saying it´s gonna work, just saying she has not other choice)

Youve got the nerve to have that lip miming b**** as your avi. She disrespected whitney last night and i wont have it.

      • MC November 17, 2012

How? Stop! Celine is amazing and she did not disrespect Whitney in any way last night. Stop, the last thing we need is Mariah fans fighting with Celine fans. We lost Whitney already, so its time to protect the two of the Vocal trinity that we have left.

I KNOW!!!! your body is truly a great song. wtf.

just a fool is alright, i dont mind it…

but i guess shes a case of “good singer, bad songs”?

she can do so much w her voice but she doesnt wanna listen to anyone, its clear.

      • dyllypickles November 18, 2012

lemme clarify, not bad songs, more like not radio friendly

The song is good and I think this is good choice as single. Pop stations and even country stations gonna play this!

BUT THE ONLY reason for the iTunes success is Blake Shelton and HIS FANS! Sorry but this is the truth.
Still I love ‘Lotus’! Great songs and I love ‘Around the World’, ‘Blank Page’….
    So many potential hits!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said, this is one of the best song along with “let there be love” and its smart of her team to release this song because of the iTunes success. Again, its about time that her team makes some effort for this album. If this album flops, its nobody’s fault but Xtina and her team, no one is making a real effort to promote this album. How are they (Xtina and co.) going to let Twilight soundtrack outsell Lotus? How are they going to let a guy who’s been releasing mix-tapes for FREE all year and then added a few new songs and release it as an album and outsell Lotus? They have to make an EFFORT and release good material. Anyways, much luck and I hope it does better.

this era was worse than bionic era

      This *nodding*

  8. Flopnet November 17, 2012

This is Xtina’s team in panic. Although I’m a fan of hers, RCA & her team handled this era with such a mess. Now, seeing that the album is gonna sell lass than 100K in the 1st week, they are in panic mode to save the era. It’s a little too late. This is what you get when you don’t promote correctly.

    • That B*tch (redbone) November 17, 2012

Promotion is not always the blame. Fact is, the CD is lackluster. It’s worse than Bionic.
The first single was HORRIBLE and she keeps trying to appeal to the young teenage audience but she is way too old for that now.

  9. Nichole November 17, 2012

    Screw this.

    Bring on Britney, and Will.iAm

    • PrettigurlrockD Bitchess November 17, 2012

Sorry, Britney is a zombie now. Ask the fans. :/

      • anna November 18, 2012

i am a fan of britney and i can tell yo she is no longer a zombie!!!

  10. Jer November 17, 2012

    How old is that picture?

    • LaLa November 17, 2012

      not even a year old.

  11. mob November 17, 2012

Well of course Xtina and Flake (per his ex-wife) will be performing on The Voice. Flake’s involvement will help record sells. Country music supports it’s ppl most of the time & he is popular among his crowd!

@That b**** redbone the first single wasn’t horrible. If anything it was the right choice. Between that and let there be love, everything else on that album isn’t single worthy nor interesting enough to have been the first single.

  14. AmbeRussell November 17, 2012

good choice, though we dont know if its bc ppl like the song or if its bc its blake shelton, but go where the money is at and that is with just a fool being an itunes success on its own. it has a lady antabellum feel to it so it and can most def be played on adult stations as well. maybe for the next album that should be her focus, fun, powerful, in depth songs that are for adult radio with a splash of youthfulness and not a mixture. back to basics is her most cohesive sound wises. i think if she had every song sound more like lotus intro this album woulda be a huge hit. sad an intro is 1 of the better songs and it would not work as a single smdh

it looks like Lotus will be Xtina’s lowest charting debut album on the Billboard 200 with predictions of a number 5 debut of of a mere 75,000 copies (which will be her lowest first week sales ever) Let’s hope she secures a hit and Lotus doesn’t meet the same fate of Bionic…

  16. Miguel November 18, 2012

    Honestly?

She sets herself up for failure

She could’ve lost the extra weight – she did so after her pregnancy, and was thin during Burlesque & the short Bionic promo – yet she insists on looking older and worn out with the extra weight, and people just won’t buy the whole “I’m chubby and selling s**, spilling out my dresses, eat it up y’all” – sorry !

But I guess her team is full of Yes sayers.

  17. Mad-On-Her November 19, 2012

I think this is a good idea, even though it wouldn’t have been my choice.
I feel like Red, Hot Kinda Love could be a hit though. But then it still baffles me that Your Body wasn’t, so it seems any thing can happen this era.
Juts A Fool is a great song though.
