Nelly Furtado Confirms German Leg Of ‘The Spirit Indestructible’ Tour

Published: Saturday 24th Nov 2012 by David

For many, the unfortunate sales scored by Nelly Furtado‘s ‘The Spirit Indestructible’ were a harsh reminder as to why lengthy chart breaks can oft spell disaster for today’s entertainer.

So, perhaps in learning her lesson, the ‘Say It Right’ star recently announced the launch of a tour in support of the album, hoping to push both she and the polarizing release.

Now, she has confirmed its German leg.

Details below…

Kicking off in the March of next year, Nelly will hit Germany for five dates starting on the third of the month.

The dates are as follows:

03.03.2013 – Berlin, Huxley’s Neue Welt
05.03.2013 – Köln, Theater am Tanzbrunnen
06.03.2013 – Hamburg, Gr. Freiheit
07.03.2013 – München, Kesselhaus
11.03.2013 – Neu-Isenburg, Hugenottenhalle

Set to perform a number of cuts from her discography, this venture precedes the tour’s Canadian leg which begins in January.

A sure fire way to force feed her cause back into the ‘mainstream’, here’s hoping this tour inspires Furtado to create a solid follow up to ‘Spirit’. A follow up, which boasts the commercial appeal of ‘Loose’ but the originality – or ‘nicheness’ if you will – of ‘Folklore‘.

For, in age where Adult Contemporary sales are the bread and butter of many a label’s profits ( see Adele‘s ’21’ and Coldplay‘s ‘Mylo Xyloto’), there is no reason Nelly can’t be a serious chart force. That is, if she delivers a sound and promotional strategy strong enough to regain her fan base and entice the casual listener in time for release.

Nelly’s made her hardcore fan base before she had commercial appeal with loose, it’s the main reason why she can still do a world tour without a commercial hit.

She has a good team behind her now where her last effort failed due to lack of promotion and bad blood with I think i was JIVE records? She might do well if these are small venues and she has a great opening act. I was thinking someone like Miguel but he is making major moves with a few other well established acts.

It’s time ya’ll wake up that no one buys albums anymore. True talent and hard work will determined someones successes.

It’s sad but true. The music industry has been watered down to the point where only a selected few can achieve. Oh well that’s what happens when you fail to own your own media outlets and record lables. Those that control it all dictate the success of music and artists!

I didn’t even know the poor girl had a new album out. Poor thing!

While y’all are talking about Ciara, can Nelly Furtado pull these concert dates off 0_o? She was hot there for a second. I wonder what happen. She reminds me of Fiona Apple in that regard!

This is so sad, if only people know the story about her song “The Spirit Indestructible”, it’s really touching.

Yeah ok. I wonder who is backing her tour with 6,000 copies of her new album sold. Some one has money to burn…

That’s sad…maybe if they gave away free tickets a few of the seats could get filled
