Nicole Scherzinger Announces New Single ‘Boomerang’

Published: Thursday 29th Nov 2012 by Sam

It was only a matter of time.

Nicole Scherzinger is cashing in on her X Factor popularity and re-launching her Pop career.

Hoping to reverse her so-so solo fortunes, the former Pussycat Doll today announced the first single from her second studio album.

Details after the jump…

Taking to Twitter early this morning, the 34 year old confirmed ‘Boomerang’ as the lead release from the as-yet-untitled LP. And with the finale of the X Factor set to take place in a mere matter of weeks, it appears the singer is racing against the clock to have the song and its video in circulation by then. For the video shoot is…today:

Nicole has always been quite the conundrum in that, for all her talent and beauty, the masses haven’t yet gravitated toward her solo efforts. Indeed, while she’s had some truly tragic tunes (see: ‘Baby Love’, ‘Try With Me’, ‘Whatever You Like’), she’s also served up winners such as ‘Wet’ and ‘Right There’ – none of which have done much of anything beyond a few European countries.

Here’s hoping her new material and visuals are oven-hot, with a savvy promo push to boot. For,  beyond it being a shame if her talent goes to waste, this could also be her last legitimate “shot”.

Your thoughts?

  4. Ernest November 29, 2012

One good thing I can say is that she won’t ever give up lol. But this will flop just like the rest. She just needs to give up.

  5. lax November 29, 2012

Aleast she knows how to sing n dance better than princess rihanna

    • Lax November 29, 2012

I RESPECT HER HUSTLE AND SHE CAN DANCE HER ASS OFF, I’D LOVE TO SEE A DANCE OFF BETWEEN NICOLE,
BEYONCE, JENNIFER LO, CIARA, JANET , PAULA,
AND SHERY FROM DANCING WITH THE STARS, I WONDER HOW THEY WOULD LINE UP AND WHO WOULD COME OUT 1-2-3!!!!!!

      • AmbeRussell November 29, 2012

it would come down to paula, janet, ciara and jlo, if we are talking about their peak and not right now when 3 of the 4 are in their 40s. beyonce can dance but she isnt on the same challenging level as a ciara or jlo style dancing. her best choreographic music video, (single ladies) was not too challenging hints why every1 was able to do it. same with nicole. none the less, they all can move.

  9. Poisonous November 29, 2012

Lmao. @ people saying this will flop…. US is NOT the only market(through its huge)… Even Lana Del Rey said it herself, She gives gibbles about the US.

  10. Poisonous November 29, 2012

Lmao. Dislike my comments all you want. This b**** is making money more than any of y’all could make in your entire life span :D..

    • AmbeRussell November 29, 2012

but thats the problem, making money should not be the sole purpose of it. drug dealers make money, cartels make money, prostitutes make money, corrupt law enforcement make money etc etc etc. it doesnt matter how much money u make if it’s degrading yourself or the product being sold is not cared for

  11. ARYO November 29, 2012

r****** navy is always mad just like their f***** up idol
she shits on rihanna and all these other basic b****** when it comes to singing + dancing + looking good , the only problem with her is their label’s lack of support

    • HALF AMAZIN November 29, 2012

No, her only problem is that she’s a flop outside of PCD and no ones checking for her. Good day!

  12. ARYO November 29, 2012

anyway im so excited , but i dont like the title that much
it will smash europe again, im not sure about US since her management is so messed up

  14. Markus Arelius November 29, 2012

Boomerang….sounds interesting. I’ve never heard of this singer but I hope she does well in the U.S. and not just Europe

    • AmbeRussell November 29, 2012

she was the former lead singer of the pussycat dolls

      • BEYONCE4LIFE November 29, 2012

B****, I was throwing SHADE! I swear PCD fans are some stupid h***

  15. WhoNeedsADegreeWhenYourShadingLife November 29, 2012

Whatever you like Tragic??? That song was hot.

  16. Toby November 29, 2012

Wow the people on this site are so f***** music-dumb. Her album was number one in the UK where she dropped it. It’s not even for sale in the US. So I’m pretty sure she hasn’t flopped.

  17. krys November 29, 2012

Comprendras tu que sans le nom “pussycadolls” tu ne réussiras jamais !

    • bibi93 November 29, 2012

      T’es français? ^^

  18. Jeff November 29, 2012

I have no time for her, i don’t personally think her voice is all that, i think her music is basic crap for someone who’s been in the music industry for so long and is 34, and i think her attitude is fake and stank. But to be honest, if the music was good i wouldn’t mind the latter but it aint. Cheryl cole can’t sing for p*** but her songs are better than the zingerburgers

  19. Blah November 29, 2012

UK release only? She’s only relevant in the UK afterall

  20. Christina Aguilera November 29, 2012

Oh this flop piece of crap is still trying?

  21. O_O November 29, 2012

I cant hate. If it is working for Tulisa, who looks set to get her 2nd #1 single and probably #1 album next week, why not her.

  22. bibi93 November 29, 2012

    RIP…

  23. CHUDDS November 29, 2012

Nicole, Nicole, Nicole. Give it up. Be an actress. Be a host, be a model. Do something productive with your time other than music. You are dull, your voice is lifeless, and while you are STUNNING; you don’t have “IT”. What are you? 40? Yeah honey, if it hasn’t happened by now, it ain’t gonna happen. Hey! You could always go back to PCD!

  24. BABY T November 29, 2012

She should just stay in Europe and release her music there. She’s only big in Europe as a solo artist and her music charts well there.

  25. Junior in Jamaica November 29, 2012

One of her best songs is “Cold” that unreleased track must be my favourite from her!!

    • Hnery November 30, 2012

“Trust me i lie” as well. Such a shame… :/

  26. JER November 29, 2012

    Grrrrl………………

  27. boopboop November 30, 2012

“second studio album”? uh…wouldnt this be her THIRD seeing how the 1st album and KILLER FLOP got shelved in the us? bless her heart for trying tho.

she may be able to sing and dance like her fans say but apparently she lacks the X-FACTOR to seperate her from any other broad who can sing and dance seeing how her solo career has been a FLOP thus far! it aint always “management” or “promo”. sometime it’s cuz ppl just aint checking for your fave PERIOD!

and ppl hatin on rih-rih at least rih’s albums get released ON TIME…no pushbacks…and her singles chart in OTHER COUNTRIES besides the uk!

  28. Marin November 30, 2012

IDIOTS coming here & telling they don’t care about her, that her song will flop like others. If you don’t like her then don’t come here and break our balls !

SHE’S A STAR & SHE DESERVES MUCH MORE ATTENTION CUZ SHE’S PURE TALENT 🙂 SHE CAN SING, DANCE & SHE’S 2 HOT FOR HERSELF 🙂
I LOVE YOU NICOLE SCHERZINGER !!!

  29. Andre Wilkins December 1, 2012

You guys act like the US is the only music market that matters. What do you mean “re-launching her career” and “so-so solo fortunes”? I mean, it’s cool if you’re not Nicole fans but give her a break. Her album was Top 10, most of the singes from it were Top 20 (Right There and Poison were number 3 and Don’t Hold Your Breath was number 1) in the UK charts. She’s more popular in Europe, so what? Success is success.
