    Whitney is a true legend

I cant WAIT until rihanna gets her proper tribute 😉 🙂

    • KING Z November 16, 2012

TRUST ME, rihanna is giving the best tribute she can give by REMAINING SILENT. she is doing every whitney houston song a justice by staying away from them – unlike she did mariah when she SLAUGHTERED “hero”

    • HEARTS HEAUX!!!!!!!!! November 17, 2012

CELINE DION IS THE DEFINITION OF A “DIVA” JUST BEAUTIFUL. SHE STOLE THE SHOW!!!!!!! SHE’S THE ONLY FEMALE VOCALISTS FROM THAT ERA OF MUSIC WHOSE VOICE STILL SOUNDS EFFORTLESSLY BEAUTIFUL JUST LIKE IT SOUNDED BACK IN THE DAY………. I’M SORRY BUT MARIAH CAREY AINT F***** WITH CELINE DION ON HER BEST DAY!!! VOCALLY OR LOOKS WISE. CELINE DON’T EVEN LOOK LIKE SHE’S AGED!!! & THAT VOCAL POWER :O SMH

      • HEARTS HEAUX!!!!!!!!! November 17, 2012

& WHY HASNT MARIAH PERFORMED AT ANY OF WHITNEY TRIBUTES…….. HOW DISRESPECTFUL. BUT THANK GOD SHE DIDNT SHE PROBABLY WOULDVE LIP SYNCED SMH……… TIME TO RETIRE MARIAH YOUR VOICE IS GONE.

      • mobwife: “Nobody’s Perfect”….well, but me November 17, 2012

No her DRESS STOLE THE SHOW! She looked gorgeous! Celine didn’t sould as good as she did at 19 singing that Whitney classic now stop fooling!! Celine Dion and Mariah Carey are struggling with the same issues. They simply aren’t as strong vocally as they use to be BUT THEY ARE STILL VERY GOOD!

      • MC November 17, 2012

Mariah already gave a speech at Whitney’s BET tribute. I don’t know why she wasn’t there this time…..stop digging stuff up, Mariah and Nippy were friends. I love Celine, but she is not the same (vocal wise) that she was in the 90s #fact and neither is Mariah, obviously. Mariah, Whitney, and Celine all have a special uniqueness about their voices that you cannot compare to each other or anyone else. Love them all for what they did and what they were/are without comparing them.

      • CelineLovah4Life November 17, 2012

Celine Dion was absolutely amazing and still has the powerful voice that she has always had. I believe that she did the whitney song complete justice by toning it down a notch from her usual power ballads. Let’s not get it twisted, no one will EVERRRRRRR sing Whitney like Whitney. So stop comparing. Props to Celine.

        I LOVE YOU!!!!
        <3

  2. MC November 16, 2012

I love you Celine! She gave such a beautiful, heartfelt, genuine speech about Whitney and then SANG my favorite Whitney song of all time. Celine is such a remarkable woman. J.Hud did really well too, especially the “I’m every woman” portion. I wish Mariah, Aretha, Patti, Dionne, etc were present to perform or give speeches. I love and miss you Nippy. 🙁

    • MC November 17, 2012

” MARIAH COULD NEVER!!!!!!!!” Girl, please stop asking for trouble. I would never diss Whit., or Celine to up Mariah but you are really going too far. Mariah can and she did in the 90s along with Celine and Whitney. Stop. This is a warming.

      • Ron November 17, 2012

ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!?!?! That was clearly LIVE she even let you h*** know her mic was on by singin a capella FIRST LOL!! Try again!! That was live!!

      • Jer November 17, 2012

Ummm. Put your headphones in b**** and you can clearly hear the difference of her LIVE acapella and then the pre-recorded track. She even acted different and didnt pull the mix away as far when hitting bigger notes. It was all tell honeT

  13. Eve38 November 17, 2012

Every one song great! But half of these people were the very same folk dancing over her dead body! Disowned her and turned their backs on her when she was here in the flesh. Only now after she is gone do they want to pretend as if they cared (during the bad times)! R.I.P Miss Whitney you are one of a kind!!!!!!

    • RICHANDBLACK11(JUST LIKE OBAMA AND BEY) November 17, 2012

      we don’t know that

  15. mobwife: “Nobody’s Perfect”….well, but me November 17, 2012

Ce Ce Winins and Yalonda Adams did a wonderful job! Nippy deserved this and more. She birthed them all as you can see by 19 yr old Celine Dion’s 1st live performance! I would have loved to see Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Tamia, Natlie Cole, Kim Burell etc perform. Anywho, I enjoyed it.

R.I.P. to the LEGEND Whitney NIPPY Houston

    • BitchICan’tEvenSpellWelfare November 17, 2012

I would have loved to see Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Tamia, Natlie Cole, Kim Burell etc perform.
      __________

      THIS!

I watched it with a friend and we KEPT saying, “where is Anita, where is Chaka, where is KIM?”

Anyway, it was a really good tribute to the Legend.

  16. LaLa November 17, 2012

    oh…. my….. God!!!
my Wonderful Celine Dion did an awesome job. Justifying the Legendary Whitney ‘s Vocal in GLOA. Her appearance made me missed the old days, when MTV still MUSIC television channel, When the Vocalist (Whitney, Mariah, Celine, etc) had their own shine with minimum crazy stanwars like nowadays (which I’m so sick of it). I hope music industry can comeback like it used to be. *I can dream can I?*

  17. BITCH_PLEASE November 17, 2012

    WHERE IS BRANDY ?!?!?!?!

    • prettigurlrockD bitchess November 17, 2012

Yeah was surprised to see her not there but I know how close she was to whit. Being there would probably be too emotional and she already gave a tribute at the BET awards anyway.

  18. Don’t_Start_No_Shit!!! November 17, 2012

That was a beautiful tribute to my late great auntie NIPPY HOUSTON!!…Now. If You tired HOLIDAY QUEENS don’t keep your ass off Whitney tribute page mentioning a TIRED b@;(h name Ri-neva I will deal with you accordingly!!!.. First, off the top. R.I.P. Late and GREAT WHITNEY HOUSTON

    The CLOWN is CRAZY!!!!!!

  19. JER November 17, 2012

I’m sorry Celine but that performance was lipped if i’ve lived a day. How are you gonna sound a certain way singing live acapella then suddenly the echo, and volume is different when the song kicks in grrrrrrrrrlllllllllllllllllllllllll i see you Celine. You didn’t need that pre-recorded ‘live’ track.

    • prettigurlrockD bitchess November 17, 2012

LOL. Love how your desperate ass always finds a way to hate on other artists just cuz your fave Riyawna lacks as a vocalist. B**** who cares if it was not or wasn’t lipped. It was an amazing performance and she can still sing unlike a lot of mediore singers these days including ur fave. Have a seat pressed ass.

      • Don’t_Start_No_Shit!!! November 17, 2012

I like that!!!!…… When you see a tired MF READ their ASS to SLEEP!!!

      • Jer November 17, 2012

        Aw I have another fan.

Rihanna isnt my fave HO and i like how suddenly it doesnt matter if it was lipped or not GTFO with your metal illness. It DOES matter if someone lips or not maybe thats what yer into. You can take your love of lipped vocals over to the BeYAWNce or Mariah boards b**** have every seat

  20. jason November 17, 2012

Celine definitely lip synched. And thats not new. Shes just better at it than many others> I went to her Vegas show and 60 percent of it is mimed!

This was DEFINITELY pre recorded! She now joins the ranks of Brandy for having pre recorded Whitney tributes!

    • KNUCK November 17, 2012

girl hush.. you don’t have proof of any of it. Dragging tributes is almost as bad as dragging the artist themselves especially if the tribute was good, lipped or not.

      • jason November 17, 2012

S**** go slaughter yourself on the trunk of a tree!

Nothing is wrong with lipping! And if you don’t think she lipped it then take that to the cross and seek your own salvation. I know she lipped it and I don’t need to provide you with any proof to post my views here.

I’m a studio engineer and I can tell you when they all lip because of the cleanliness of the vocals and the effect that are on their voices. Listen to the difference when she sang acapella at the top to when she started singing the actual song. You can tell that the the second set of vocals were layered with studio effects.

Its OK if you like Celine, but ALLLL our favourites have lipped! Beyonce, Mariah, Celine! Its nothing to act RATCHET about!

    • prettigurlrockD bitchess November 17, 2012

Never heard Brandy lip synch and usually she sings LIVE cuz her voice is still there!

      • jason November 17, 2012

uuuuuum brandy does it regularly. There were even time she lipped when Monica was singing live. But it happens. Most female artists pre record all their live performances in case of things like their period coming or they jut get sick with the flu or something. Brandy lipped the Whitney tribute at the BET awards! Believe that!

Your voice is a muscle. It gets tired. Big deal. I’m all for lipping and not sound a hot ass ratchet mess. Beyonce lipped Love On Top at the MTV Awards and people hail that as one of her greatest performances! What I love about her is that she bring so much more to the stage so it doesnt matter!

      • prettigurlrockD bitchess November 17, 2012

Does it “regularly” and when she doesn’t do it regularly she STILL slays. So you bringing up her lip syncing really doesn’t matter. That b**** can snap.

    • Ron November 17, 2012

I love how folks all of a sudden are sound engineers and “singers” themselves to add credibility to their horrible ass, baseless comments!!!! The fact that Celine got on stage and SLAYED with an acapella version of “saving all my all for you” lets me know this b**** is still a vocal beast!!!!!

      • jason November 17, 2012

Just because you’re a nobody ho just upset for no reason even after i said lip singing is fine doesnt mean celine did or didint slay. Shes one of the greatest vocalist of all time along with the Mariahs and Whitneys of their generations.

NO ONE IS DENYING THAT. We’ve all seen them at their ultimate best so lip synching isnt something negative and nothing to be ratchet about!

Is something wrong with pointing out someone lipped just because she’s your favourite. Beyonce is my ultimate favourite and trust me…i can show you tons of videos where she lipped it!

  21. sowhatbiotch November 17, 2012

Whoever said Celine Dion Lipsynced..Go crawl up under a damn rock..Anyway they all did good.. And why are yall saying I wish such such was there obviously they were 2 far up their own asses to attend either that or they wasnt invited to perform..

  22. remy November 17, 2012

I love Whitney and all but what about Donna Summer she deserves a tribute more than anyone I can’t believe she hasn’t gotten the credit she deserve!!! If it wasn’t for her black artist wouldn’t even be able to be #1 on pop charts. This is just sad to me.

    • That B*tch (redbone) November 17, 2012

Yes, Donna Summers deserves one too. I never knew she never had a tribute.

    • prettigurlrockD bitchess November 17, 2012

RIP DONNA. WE LOVE HER TOO. WISH THE MEDIA WOULD HAVE PAID MORE ATTENTION TO SUCH A TALENTED LADY BUT I GUESS THE 70’S AND DISCO WERE TOO EXPIRED BUT STILL I AGREE. SHE WAS AMAZING AND HER MUSIC WAS GOOD TOO.

    • BitchICan’tEvenSpellWelfare November 17, 2012

Donna Summer absolutely deserves a tribute! I think people have unfairly pigeonholed her music as “just disco” rather than acknowledging how good her music actually is. And what a voice!

      • prettigurlrockD bitchess November 17, 2012

and she sounded even better live. Love that lady.

  23. JOHNVIDAL November 17, 2012

RIP Whitney The Voice and Face Houston. Best LIVE singer EVER
Celine Dion is way out of her vocal prime (like Whitney was or Mariah is) and she still manages to be the very best of Whitney tributes this whole year. And then they want to tell me about minidivas emerged after 1995-2000 calling them “the voice”, “slay”, etc, etc. B*******. The last real huge ones were Whitney, Mariah and Celine. their voice, musicianship, presence, everything. The 3 biggest b****** ever (along with Madonna)

  24. Irate_Ninja November 17, 2012

first of all,Celine doesnt lip sync. the only song at her vegas show that she partly doesnt sing is Where Does My Heart Beat Now because she doesnt want to ruin her voice with the high notes. Great Whitney tribute she will be missed! now, Celine should have a tribute BEFORE shes dead!

    • Jamie November 17, 2012

Wrong. Check loads of videos on YouTube… she clearly lips the high note in Power of Love (most performances prior 1997 were live and you can tell as she changes the melody, length and arrangement of notes and power of vocals), most performances after are IDENTICAL at the high note.

Not saying anything bad about her, or anyone as I love her, I’m just pointing it out.

She’s CLEARLY lipping her, unless she was singing live and it’s been overdubbed. But whatever happens the vocals we hear in this video are not her total 100% live vocals at that point in time. Anyone who cannot see or hear that is blind and deaf.

Mind you…… this is US television, so who knows how much post production auto tune, filters, enhancements and other wizardry they’ve put on it before it airs on TV.

I remember seeing a video of Anastacia singing One Day in your Life at Divas Live…. in the live broadcast during the high note she didn’t reach it, stepping the note down (there was a video of this on Youtube but cant find it now)… in the DVD and subsequent clips, she hits the note perfectly as they used Auto Tune post production and you can still see her stepping the notes down even though you’re hearing her hit the note….anyway off topic – love Celine, love Whitney, you’re wrong xx

      • Ron November 17, 2012

There is a difference between “lip syncing” and “singing with assistance” a back track…..you are making it seem like Celine’s mic ain’t even on and that is not the case. Her mic is on and she is singing this song LIVE!!!

    • JOHNVIDAL November 17, 2012

I´ve seen many tributes to Celine already

  25. FuckingYoDaddy November 17, 2012

Celine was beautiful! Jennifer was out of breath! Usher sounded really smooth s*** and emotional at the same damn time! Yolanda was cute CeCe was pregnant! all in all it was BEAUTIFUL better than the EBT awards could ever DO with Roseanne in the chair!

  26. That B*tch (redbone) November 17, 2012

Everybody that’s trynna come for Celine needs to have a damn seat in the back of a bus! I love this woman, I’ve been listening to her since I was a little girl because my mom used to play her CD’s all the damn time in our house.
    Her voice is still flawless.
    Love you Whit!

  27. prettigurlrockD bitchess November 17, 2012

Celine’s tribute was beautiful. My fav of the night. And *COUGH* Mariah wasn’t there cuz in order to do Whitney you need to BELT. Not just whisper. LOL. We all knew MC wouldn’t show up with her Diva ass. SMH.

    • MC November 17, 2012

      @prettigurlrockD bitchess

Where did we leave last time? 30? or 31? and still counting. You just love to hate on Mariah. You act like you KNOW the reason she wasn’t there. Mariah isn’t in her prime, but you really had to say this. Pressed.

      • prettigurlrockD bitchess November 17, 2012

Girl, bye it was a joke. I know her chords are fragile. But she has hardly ever sang a whitney song in tribute. I DO consider that odd. But believe me if I wanted to hate I woulda said a lot worse. @Jason I don’t diss the greats. I’ve only had problems with MC stans still thinking mariah can sing the way she does in the 90’s when she clearly CAN’T. What greats have I hated on other than her?? I’ll wait….dumbass. LOL.

      • MC November 17, 2012

lol. Mariah cords are fragile and are nowhere near what they used to be, obviously. I don’t know which Mariah stan still thinks she sounds the same, it obviously isn’t me. You do, however hate on Mariah too much, or at least you used to. You have to realize that she gave her best musically, lyrically, and vocally in the 90s and during Emaciation era so she shouldn’t be expected to do the same today.

      • prettigurlrockD bitchess November 17, 2012

I have an opinion like anyone else. You do know that with over a billion people in the world not everyone has to like the same thing as you do?? Have I counted your post regarding nicki minaj? No. Cuz I don’t care what you like, who you like. It really doesn’t faze me. And yes, I have met several stans saying she still sounds good. And when I think otherwise, it’s hating. Don’t really care. I will say what I want.

      • MC November 17, 2012

RIP poor baby. Are you really telling me that nearly 7 billion people in the world don’t have the same opinion???? I already knew this so it was a pointless little lesson on your part. I am well aware that you have your opinion and as well you should, I don’t expect you to agree with me and if everyone agreed with me, wouldn’t that make the world a boring place? Say what you want 24/7, 365 says a year….I will correct you when I see fit. You especially hate on Mariah, calling her a flop, “moomoo”, etc and that’s not hating? Child please save all your tears, we all know your dislike for her. You can dislike her and hate her all you want but calling her a flop is just wrong as her peers from the 90s aren’t selling either. You constantly have to say something negative about her even when its uncalled for and that makes you a hater. A hater is someone that has nothing positive to say about a person and always injects negativity in everything concerning a particular person. You can hate “Triumphant” or any of her songs, that’s your opinion but on every post regarding Mariah you have to bring up the fact that it flopped. No one is arguing that it flopped, but I never see you make a fuss when other artist flop as much as you do for Mariah. You hate her so just admit it and save yourself all the trouble of maintaining “innocence” over the hate claim.

Dead at you mentioning those Mariah fans that claim she still sounds the same. I guess they would fall in the category of Beyonce stans that call her the next MJ, or the Xtina fans that call her “the voice”, or those Rihanna stans that call her “icon/legend” right? Every stan base/fan base has the crazies and I CANNOT at you acting like Mariah fans are the only ones saying stuff like that.

    • jason November 17, 2012

Everyone will do their own tribute in their own time. I mean she could have showed up and lipped like Celine!

I mean that tribute was a hot ass mess put together and pre taped and just had no sou to the whole thing. They barely advertised it and it just seems like an after thought. No celebs were even in the audience and yet you tryna diss Mariah who was in Europe whie this was being taped!

Get your life and go have a seat! Always tryna diss the greats!

  28. JoJo November 17, 2012

Yolanda and Celine did the damn thang. RIP Queen Whitney <3

Celine Dion is first class superstar. Just like Whitney and Mariah. It shows in everything they have done or do, starting with the fabulous dress. Most of the rest are lessors compared to them, of course everybody after 2000
Again RIP Whitney baby girl: biggest era by a female ever, biggest album by a female ever, biggest single by a female ever, first woman (white or black) to debut at #1 with an album (her second one), biggest debut album in history (her first one obviously), only act to achieve 7 consecutive #1 singles (yes you know one after the other, not releasing 7 singles per year hoping one of them reaches the top, like the nowadays supposed superstars do), and on and on. You just got slayed 🙂

You are soooooo right!!!!! She has so much class and so much poise. The fact that she LITERALLY stands on stage in a gown with no dancers, no smoke and mirrors….just her and an orchestra and she still sells out EVERY NIGHT in an era of booty bouncing, auto-tuned divas speaks volumes about her talent as a vocalist.

@Ron @JOHNVIDAL I love Celine with all my heart. I am going to vegas in March 2013 and that is the first show I will be seeing. Celine is probably the only chick from her era still able to sing and thats really sad. That being said Celine exudes class and grace. She always speaks kindly and respectfully of everyone. She to my knowledge has never spoken negatively about anyone publicly. and @RON I agree she just stands there and captivates an audience with her voice. She doesnt need dancers. Now her vegas show does include dancers but she doesnt really need them. I smile every time I see her because she is always so wonderful.

Where was Brandy Norwood for this! I am not trying to compare, but I only enjoyed Miss Celine Dion! I wish Brandy had performed and some more others! The Grammys need to step it up, I don’t think Jennifer did all that well! Sorry! Usher did ok!

I miss Whitney so bad 🙁
Celine was amazing. I love her and i’m watching any ceremonies if Celine Dion decides to come, she’s like royalty.

I was most impressed with Celine Dion’s performance of Greatest Love of All. It is depressing seeing Mariah at 42 and even Christina A at 31 not being able to, or struggling to hit the notes they used to hit with ease. However, at 44, Celine’s voice remains golden. Jennifer, Mariah and Christina should ask Celine for tips on preserving their voices into middle age. Celine Dion’s Vocals….. PERFECTION…..
