Bruno Mars is the King of the charts!
Well, at least as far this week is concerned. Hours after the release of his new album ‘Unorthdox Jukebox’, the Pop star has secured his fourth US #1 single with the love song, ‘Locked Out Of Heaven‘.

Pushing Rihanna’s ‘Diamonds’ out of the top spot, ‘Heaven’ rises one spot from #2 to score Mars his fourth #1 single, following ‘Grenade‘, ‘Just The Way You Are’, and ‘Nothin’ On You’.
If it spends another week atop the competitive chart, Mars may see himself given much cause to celebrate, with ‘Jukebox’ set to top the Billboard 200 with sales circa the 140,000 to 160,000 units figure.

We all know that they’re biased…but there’s also a difference…this his second album, and it’s projected to sell more than his first one (which was in the 55K area)…so that’s a win win for him. It will probably debut at number 2…maybe number one next week.

Considering Bruno only sold 50k with his first album, reaching 140k is arguably an achievement. And this is Rihanna’s 7th album, compared to Bruno’s 2nd. ‘A Girl like Me’ (Rihanna’s 2nd album) sold 115,000 in its first week, so 140-160k ain’t bad at all!

Well he was signed to Motown Records when he was younger, and most of the artists that he writes and produces for are R&B artists, such as Brandy, Lloyd, Cee-Lo (e.g. Forget You), Melanie Fiona, Alicia Keys, etc. Yes, he’s usually categorised under the ‘Pop’ genre, but some of the songs on his new album, like ‘Treasure’, and ‘Moonshine’ are way more R&B than a lot of the songs ‘R&B’ artists are putting out right now (*ahem* Usher, Ne-Yo, etc).

Diamonds is the number 1 song on the global itunes chart and Stay has jumped to 68 on the global itunes chart. This means she will now have a second Global number 1 with Stay – and this jam is gonna be even BIGGER AND SLAY THE TOP 5 FOR 6 MONTHS, while beyonce and her superbowl come and go. Pepsi must be feeling really stupid, alll that hype about , her biggest ever era, but she is getting slayed by a girl, who does not even need promo to sell. RIHANNA will take on her first animation film role in Happy Smekday.
The Bajan superstar and The Big Bang Theory actor Jim Parsons will lend their voices to the lead roles in the upcoming DreamWorks animation about a friendly alien race who invade the Earth in order to hide from their enemy.
Tim Johnson – who directed popular animation films Antz and Over The Hedge – is on board as director and Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember are writing the screenplay, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The comedy is an adaptation of Adam Rex’s popular book The True Meaning of Smekday.

He deseved a #1 on albums too but it doesn´t look like it´s gonna happen. He should do bigger numbers. Industry is dying. I mean we are in Xmas season and most of the weeks the #1 album is only doing 100,000-200,000 copies…

What. The. FUCK! Sales have been extremely dismal this holiday season. This is the time of the year where people used to release their albums expecting to sell 300k PLUS! It saddens me that the only people selling are fucking Taylor Swift & One Direction. I mean, what the fuck? Bruno deserves to sell more!!! Oh well, I’m sure his album will spit out three or four more smashes and he’ll reach platinum status. Smh!!!
