For Tamar Braxton, the last 24 hours have been nothing short of a blessing.
Hitting the net with her scorching new single ‘Love & War‘, the last few hours have seen the cut ascend on iTunes like a bat out of hell, and is now on spot away from hitting #1. Yes, you read that right, #1.
However, in the case any doubted the true reach of the singer’s commercial power, tonight has seen her enter territory many a R&B rival has tried- and failed- to match. Territory, by the name of the UK charts.
Good news below…
Without the benefit of a supporting video, live performance or her hit Reality TV series ‘Tamar & Vince‘ (which doesn’t air in the market), Ms. Braxton has soared onto iTunes UK’ R&B tally, currently perched at #6.
Outselling Ne-Yo‘s ‘Let Me Love You’ and Miguel’s ‘Adorn’, ‘Love’s entry on the highly competitive chart marks the fastest rise this week, despite facing fierce competition from cuts pulled from Alicia Keys‘ US #1 album ‘Girl On Fire’.
More interesting though, is that the number is yet to impact UK radio and seems to be- if its US run is anything to go by- selling on the basis of ‘word of mouth’, with consumers rushing to purchase it after a series of reviews hit the net in its favor this morning.

Wow…You are a Neanderthal. I Can bet any amount of money that you are very ugly… A terrible body with a butter face, there is nothing remotely attractive about you. she is giving R&B some life with this jam. it has soul, emotion and hurt all up in one track. Tamar is giving the lyrics real meaning, with or without support from gaga’s monsters or Brandy’s Starz, with what Tamar is giving us she deserved it.

I like” Love & War”. It is a very nice cut. I like the live version she delivered on the Vince & Tamar Reality TV Show much better however.
With that said, lets keep it 100 and state a few facts:
1) Vince Herbert, (her husband-manager) is a well respected manager. He has some serious industry pull. He also managed Gaga.
2) Tamar sounds EXACTLY LIKE Toni Braton on this song. IMO
3) Tamar has the benefit of a 10 week Reality Show to aid in promoting her music! (even if it has not officially aired in the UK, one can catch the show online).
4) The song is well written and Tamar killed it!! <–true tea

Hi TGJ posters,
I’ve watched you all go back and forth for months and love this site.
One of the main reasons its doing well here in the UK is TheSkorpionShow on youtube. I watch them and they know her personally. They got me watching Braxton Family Values/Tama & Vince and we don’t even get the shows here – as stated in the article!
Many people in the youtube community watch and listen to TheSkorpionShow regularly and there’s a strong audience base in the UK.
After watching the shows and being a Toni Braxton fan since HER debut, I had to search out Tamar.
You’re all right, it also helps that tonight Gaga has tweeted her support (as stated above)…and you know we love us some Gaga

The rapid success of this song is the proof that true talent sells!!! I woke up to see several post on Instagram that her single was out and she killed the song! Immediately went to download and its been on repeat all day. Word of mouth and the TRUTH.com don’t lie! Yo girl is singing her ass off on this song.
At 5am the song was already #10 on iTunes R&B charts and it’s been climbing all day. Now it’s #1 on iTunes R&B charts, #2 on iTunes charts, #6 on iTunes UK R&B charts. The song will continue to climb after she performs it on the finale of her show tonight.
So glad she realized that listening to people trying to make her be like Toni was a NO NO. From the moment I heard her truly sing I became a fan. SHE ME HER TAMAR SLAAAAYYYYYSSSS

Although the cut DOES sound like Keyshia’s “Trust & Believe,” it’s a wonderful song! Tamar beautifully executed each and every lyric, and those vocals honey….. I really didn’t expect her to impress me this much!
