New Song: Melanie Amaro – “Long Distance”

Published: Wednesday 5th Dec 2012 by Rashad

While ‘Epic’ X Factor US alum Marcus Canty is winning fans over left and right with his debut offerings, the season 1 champion of the show Melanie Amaro (also signed to EPIC) unveils her long-awaited, official debut single ‘Long Distance’.

Set to kick off her debut LP ‘Truly’ (2013), find out below if the song has truly been worth the wait…

The song boasts a Kelly Clarkson-esque vibe without sounding completely unoriginal – a feat that is a challenge for many new artists to accomplish.  Despite the accompaniment lacking its on distinguishing identity from most of the electropop fluff aboard present day radio, it’s refreshing to hear those beats matched with powerhouse vocals.

How well Amaro can sell the track, however, will be determined tomorrow (Thursday) night as she is set to perform it live on ‘X Factor USA’.

Not guna ever bother listening to the song because I already know its guna be a flop n I ain’t got time for it she seems like a Jordin Sparks clone….

LOL hating ass b**** at least listen to it before calling it a flop!!!!

I feel bad for this girl cuz she is actually talented but this isn’t working. She comes across as a mix of Jordin Sparks meets Leona Lewis. She doesn’t have a unique sound and her songs are not radio material.

Possible solution: Jump on a feature song by a hot rap artist. Gain momentum from there as opposed to doing this whole thing solo.

She sounds so nasal in this song! Why are they giving her these generic beats when she has a voice that can carry a power ballad (perfect for the season we’re in right now) poor girl, i’ve hated everything she’s released post x factor. Sorry not sorry.

FLOP just like her other two singles love me now and don’t fail me this is not the direction her album should go. Funny she won the x factor when she lacks just that!!!

Don’t Blane her, blame the label, she was marketed on xfactor as the next Mariah/Whitney so it puzzles me why they are putting out these pop type of songs

This confuses me too, pop is the wrong direction for her

Jordin Sparks 2.0 will FLOP. $5 million US dollar contract for this? Simon should ask for a refund. LA Reid doesn’t know what to do with this girl, most likely because he didn’t believe in her in the first place. He probably didn’t think she was star material and gave her to some low level junior A&R rep to Executive produce her project. Sorry girl but this is not going anywhere.

Wack! Wack! Mother f****** Wack! Generically wack! This is exactly why I don’t watch The Voice, American Idol, X Factor, Americas Got Talent etc. Sure, some of the winners can sing but 9/10 they have no IT factor or true artistry.

If it aint Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia or Carrie Underwood, I do not use.

    NEXT!

Wtf is this!!! I dont blame her at all because she is just doing what they tell her but damn wtf is simon thinking giving her this bubble gum sounding mess! She has a powerhouse voice and could b singing way more powerful material than this disney s***….

Marcus Canty has better songs at least. I still think he should have won.
