Tate Stevens Named ‘X Factor’ Season 2 Winner

Published: Thursday 20th Dec 2012 by Rashad

37-year-old country crooner Tate Stevens has been named the winner of The X Factor USA‘s second season.

Triumphing over runner-up Carly Rose Sonenclar in tonight’s live grand final, Stevens walked away with the coveted $5 million prize and a spot on Epic Records roster.

Congratulations are certainly in order for the Missourian.  As he prepares his debut album, fans can expect to see his ‘X Factor’ predecessor, pop newcomer Melanie Amaro, hit the promo trail in support of her inaugural album ‘Truly’.

Awww, you spoiled it for me! Good luck Simon with gaining a profit from that £5,000,000 contract.

Good for Tate. I’d much rather 5th harmony have won but I think Tate is the mosr commercially viable of the three. He has a target market, one which I believe may actually support him.

Y’all b****** don’t realize that country music has the biggest following and is the most profitable right????

Yeah. You don’t. All because he’s not young, pop, r&b

    • King B>Rihanna December 20, 2012

yes i know but what makes him different from any other male country artist…… nothing.

  11. JER December 21, 2012

Duh. Of course a typical country singer would win. I knew he would win the moment he made the cut. America is so pathetic and typical

    • cruz December 21, 2012

Call my country pathetic one more time m***********

He will stay relevant for a long time because country music fans are pretty loyal and there is plenty room in the market for male country singers. I can see the cash rolling in for Simon/LA.

A country singer *another one*. Oh well, he has a great voice and great stage presence so congrats.

    However!

To me X-Factor means: Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, One Direction and Cher Lloyd. And since the beginning, X factor US has yet to provide us with instant commercially and internationnally successful acts like those four. This is not “Got Talent” it’s “X-Factor’!

As far as I’m concerned, Simon should just can the US version and go back to the UK show. Good for LA Reid to be out of this ish. America ain’t ready for that jelly. And probably never will.

Well, He’s a country singer! So thats a bonus! Country fans are very loyal when it comes to their music!

    Carly is the best

The only episode I saw was the Final and all 3 of the performers were terrible. If that was the best they could find from all the people that auditioned I say eliminate all of em and start over next year.

P.S. When that Carly girl attempted to sing Faith Hill’s Cry, I wanted to throw my remote at the TV. I know Faith was at home laughing her @$$ off. #terrible

I agree, “NONE HAD THE X FACTOR” they need to do better selecting talent. Carly is clearly an artist that needs lots of development and the group was interesting but so do they. Nothing about Tate said “STAR” to me just a typical wanna-be country artist, nothing authentic, decent but nothing special. The only purpose these shows seems to be providing
is more publicity for the judges.

People like CeCe, Diamond, Carly, and Paige will be the ones making it big tbh.

Tate was/is just as talented as anyone else. He deserves everything. He’s a great humble and talented guy.
