‘That Rihanna reign just won’t let up’.
Says who, pray tell. Sure, as far as the Hot 100 goes, very few can of a chart run as as impressive as Rihanna‘s- with 60 million digital singles sold since her arrival seven years ago.
Unfortunately for her, despite scoring her first US #1 album with ‘Unapologetic‘ last week, her run on the album’s chart took a cruel turn for the worst this week.

Unable to match feats landed by Lady GaGa, Nicki Minaj and her idol Beyonce (who have all enjoyed multiple weeks in the Top Two), Ms. Fenty failed to nab a second week atop the Billboard 200 after she suffered an unfortunate 70% decrease in sales, pushing an embarrassing 72,356 units.
Outsold by Taylor Swift‘s ‘RED‘ (135,682 units) and Alicia Keys‘ ‘Girl On Fire’, the Elijah Blake aided album now sits at #6, set to drop further next week with the arrival of many a Christmas release.
What makes the singer’s sales tumble all the more worse, is that has failed to match second week numbers secured by that of Beyonce‘s ’4‘, which moved 115,ooo units in ‘week 2′ despite the benefit of a smash hit akin to the Sia penned ‘Diamonds’.
Worse yet, might be the fact that the album now looks set to ‘enjoy’ a slow ascent to the 1 million units sold mark- facing the same fate as her 2011 ‘Talk That Talk‘ which took a year to reach Platinum status.

My thing is this….Rihanna outsold both Brandy & Christina Aguilera’s first week sales in her second week. But TGJ still bashes her? However, when Brandy (who only sold like 66,000 in the FW) depressing sales came, they defended her like it was no damn tomorrow. Same for Xtina…smdh. “Another bogus celebrity lawsuit has been filed in federal court … this time, the troublemaker claims to be Chris Brown … and he’s filed an INSANE lawsuit against Rihanna.
TMZ has obtained the documents, filed in U.S. District Court in Tennessee … in which “Chris Brown” is requesting a restraining order against Rihanna because he fears she will cause him bodily harm.
The suit contains the following (completely untrue) allegations:
– “[Rihanna] gave me herpes and then when I threatened to file a lawsuit against her for not telling me she was infested with genital blisters she began to hit herself in the face and throw herself into walls just as Jim Carrey did in the movie ‘Liar, Liar.”
“Then she turned around and blamed me for the matter as a form of punishment.”

There was a website, don’t remember which one, that posted a transaction of her label buying nearly 10,000 FB likes in order to beat Gaga.
I figure just any celeb Twitter account with over 1 million or so followers is just a bunch of fake accounts that were purchased by the artist’s label. I guess the labels don’t stop to think how strange it looks for one of their artists to have 10 or 15 million followers, but for instance, sell only 100k or less the first week.

The album isn’t bad, it’s just not very groundbreaking and appears to be a step back for her. . . Loud was a GREAT album, and offered the audience a look AND a sound Talk That Talk started off with a signature look but then kinda lost it and Unapologetic doesn’t really have a look or a signature sound she can def bounce back with a new look and a re-release but this isn’t up to her standards Loud was her best album to date.

Another day, another post just to shades Rihanna and praise Beyonce, both are not big album sellers, let’s not act as if Beyonce album sales are as big as were the sales of Britney in her prime, this is a reflection of the music industry these days, she will go Platinum anyway, Beyonce next album better outsell “Thriller” like all of you were saying in another post cuz if not, i will be happy to drag her once again and you know i’m good at that.

I think what happened was the lead single “Diamonds” fooled a lot of consumers (especially the white consumers, no shade) into thinking this was a pop album full of high power pop ballads and techno beats.
