Just like the song she and Melanie Fiona both recorded with Tyrese. You could tell it was just a spontaneous, light-hearted moment because if she would have continued and let her self really get in tone she could have really given the Rihanna fans something more to feel insecure about.

Listened to it again and now I think Brandy did do her best and it did not sound as spontaneous as I thought before. Still something about it that I don’t like. I was expecting Brandy to really improve the song but I guess she was oversinging just a bit for that type of song. Today’s music climate is dry…The talent is lacking, and the singers suck ass…#1 songs don’t really mean much nowadays to me since you don’t need great vocals and lyrics to obtain them currently. She’s already had #1 songs on mutiple charts, sold millions of records, and been relevant for almost 20 years now.
Brandy has absolutely NOTHING to prove to anyone.

Rihanna and Katy are singles artists, Taylor is riding the teeny-bopper fan wave, and Lady Gaga is modern incarnation of Madonna, relying on costumes and controversy to sell her brand.
I buy from artists that I like, like Brandy, Melanie Fiona, Toni Braxton, etc…The generic, cheesy, bland, whitewashed, disposable pop music that clearly WON’T stand the test of time isn’t for me. Enjoy it if it tickles your fancy.

And these are all deluxe editions (with the exception of Bruno Mars) and mastered for iTunes.
Rihanna and Katy’s album sales refute your assertion that they’re singles artists. They are the artists who are selling big today. Christina, Brandy, Beyonce wish they had their sales.
Keep on buying your boring bland 90s music but don’t complain about people buying other music they like today.

Rihanna and Katy are not singles artists, a singles artist is more like Ke$ha or Flo Rida.
Back on point. R&B music is classic and I love most of the lyrics and smooth sounds but it’s real REPETITIVE and GENERIC as well. R&B has no depth into it, at least pop music can mix hip hop, electro/dance, reggae/dancehall or dubstep into its beats so people will always have fresh new sounds.

Rihanna, Katy, Taylor, and Gaga sell millions of singles and albums BECAUSE THEY RECORD THE MUSIC THAT IS IN! It has nothing to do with talent. I don’t mind Taylor Swift, but the other three have weak voices or just can’t sing worth a damn and rely on gimmicks and catchy tunes. If Brandy, Melanie Fiona, and more R&B artists were recording Electro-Pop, Techno-Pop, and Dance-Pop and had millions of dollars spent on marketing them, along with a sexed up and controversial image, they would be selling big numbers too!

Interesting assertion, so why hasn’t this reflected in her sales for Two Eleven? Why is Two Eleven flopping harder than Lotus (I bought both albums BTW)?? Why can’t Two Eleven generate a hit if people are so thirsty for Brandy’s music??
The people’s i’ve listed will be around in 8-10 years time because unlike Brandy and the rest of the RnB divas, they DO NOT STICK TO THE SAME FORMULA. They are more versatile have have adapted to the current climate (Unlike Brandy).
The industry has changed a lot, Brandy and the rest of the RnB divas from the 1800s should adapt to the current climate.

Nothing bland about brandy. She makes good music and music critics agree. Y is it that regular people can buy a Katy perry or Rihanna album but if they didn’t how else would they remain relevant? Ppl depend on them for a hot song. Not because they respect them as actual artists. Brandy is still relevant even tho she may have not sold much because of the climate. MC is not selling like she use to but that doesn’t take from her merits. CA made some generic pop song called your body and she’s white but I don’t see her sellin like the Taylor swift and Adele. Sales don’t have anything to do with greatness and Quality of music. It’s mostly luck and promotion. Rihanna is the “it” girl. Of course she would sell. Not to mention she’s been going now 7 years non stop. Her team makes no hesitation to keep her in the spotlight supremacy.

Bran’s singing always adds a new dimension to anything. This short version of Diamonds was sultry and earthy. I don’t really care for the song, but her take on it was something interesting to watch. Bran’s so versatile and I see why people would encourage her to do another “Human” album, but that’s not very sensible for Bran to do in today’s music scene! I think she should stick to innovative R&B/pop crossover material. The industry is not flooded with artists like Brandy going mainstream right now, but Bran incorporates everything and I think that formula works best for her.

In my opinion,
Brandy only sings 22 seconds and she did a great job!!
I love her vocal, her voice.
It seems that she sings better than the original version.
However, if this song is for Brandy, it might be good or great but not a hit.
And on the other hands,
Rihanna sang this and be a hit.
As we can see, more and more people do not care about talent or vocalist.
Just because Rihanna is more famous than Brandy, and this is the truth.
So I think that’s why more and more talented singers are all underrated.
